Maybe you preheated your oven for too long. When the temperature of the oven is too hot in the beginning, the cake's top tends to break. Although it's completely fine and adds more natural look but it's up to you anyway. Shivesh has talked about it in his previous videos too.

I also have IFB convection microwave & I also faced such issues while using convection microwave. When you are baking a cake using convection microwave oven, make sure you cover the cake tin with aluminium foil so that your cake's top portion will not become hard due to excees heat & place wire rack at the bottom of cake tin so that the heat which is coming from top portion will be distributed at bottom part as well. Also, at convection mode, set 160° or 170℃ temperature while baking & increase baking time for about 8-10mins. I hope, by using this technique you can bake your cake in a better way.

Following you since such a long time and I've to thank you for all the great channges that you have brought in my baking.
(Disclaimer - This comment is going to be a lil long sorry in advance )
So last week it was my parent's anniversary which we didn't celebrate due to some family reasons so the next day we decided to just have a casual family dinner at home and because of the last minute planning I had a really hard time arranging a customized cake from a bakery and ended up paying more than what one pays . When the cake was cut and everyone ate it all my family members were like the cake that I made previously was way better than the one I had got. Let me tell you the cake they were talking about was your back to basics chocolate cake and it had chocolate ganache in between it's layers and chocolate buttercream frosting on the outside. At first I was obviously not believing them and I felt like they were all just trying to be sweet to me but then my uncle asked me to bake a cake for my cousin brother's fifth birthday which is on the coming week I was both shocked and thrilled seeing that he chose my cake over the ones that we get from professional bakeries. I first denied the idea because I'm not good at decorating cakes but since they all insisted so much I had to agree and I'm a little nervous because it's a big day for my brother 😐 I'm planning to bake your devil's chocolate cake for my brother since everyone at my house are huge chocolate lovers. Wish me luck so that I don't screw things up (btw I'm planning of ordering a cake from a bakery just in case the one I'm going to bake gets ruined while I frost it also I feel one can ki cakes jitne bhi ho kamm hi hain 😂)
I know this is the longest comment I've ever written for you actually this isn't a comment this is an essay 😂 hope you'll read the full thing and if you do and get bored or irritated of reading this essay I'm really sorry 🙂💛💛❤️❤️❤️

    Hi Shivesh,
    Big fan of your cooking.
Learned variety of stuff from your channel.
But, I have been facing issue with the cookies. Using different types of recipes of yours and other UA-camrs I am still struggling with cookie recipes. Either my cookies are too hard or sometimes unbaked. They are never crunchy and soft at the same time.
    Help me with the same.
