Very clarifying. I have been wondering about how up I need to be up. Living in small hippie village in the Swedish countryside I dont need to add a lot of effort to stand out. If I lived in a city my style would probably be a lot amped up. Thank you Rita!❤
For me it's the opposite😄😂 I used to be fairly sure I was one of the Down quadrants, but since I come off as mysterious and intimidating rather than approachable, I now have to check if I'm just a malleable, suppressed, low-energy Up. Just in case, ahahXD But I guess I can have that physicality and still be more drawn to Down, leaning Up just occasionally
Thank you so much! Just as with the Right/Left Essence Keywords this is an immensely helpful video. I thought up/down referred more to a vibe and a strategy rather than an essence, so that's interesting! I realized that as a sweetheart I use ease as a parameter all the time. If its not comfortable it needs to go. I feel often that tops restrict me and that pants pull me down. Its a delicate balance of clothing sitting just right. So much food for thought with the other keywords, thank you again!
Thank you for this!! 😄🥰 I think I've finally figured out whether I'm LU or LD: LD, wildflower leaning seductress and even a bit of outsider. I had thought I was more lady heretic but now I don't think that is true. I don't have enough LU qualities to be in the Amethyst quadrant. Zero drama, too much effort looks overdone on me, and I'm zero intimidation vibe-wise. I wish I could do the persona thing but not sure how because I really want to be authentic. The upper part of the LD quadrant leaning into LU works best because I disappear if things are too minimal, do better with a bit of glamour, yet can't carry too much LU extravagance or it looks off, like I am really overdoing it. It's a fine balance! Many of my girlfriends have waaaay more 'UP' qualities than me. can't really relate to that one. Often, I wish I seemed intimidating like my 'dragon lady' 😂LU friends. But I am approachable enough, even strangers just come boundary crashing in, and have my whole life. And that feels very unsafe. I'm otherwise a brave person, but it is very stressy to have people come tromping over one's boundaries! This is part of why I dislike feeling seen, which is a heck of a dilemma for a musician! 😅 Anyway, thank you Rita! You're awesome. :)
What's interesting is as a teen I was VERY Up. As I became an adult and started juggling work, bills, and college I've become much more Down, as I had to prioritize different things.
hmm, i was extremely relating to down with the first couple words, but “approachable” is one i struggle with. i don’t particularly enjoy coming off as approachable or easily accessible at all, and i feel like i do very much use clothing as a shield of sorts (for example, wearing mostly oversized clothing and dark colors, never anything eye-catching or too unique) and i like to think that i strive for a bit of a mysterious vibe. but maybe i’m kidding myself and my mostly casual, laidback style of dressing makes me seem approachable whether i like it or not? 😅 i mean, i know i definitely don’t seem too intimidating to most people (based on their reactions) but i’m not sure if there’s a sense of approachability about me either? although in high school i once overheard a couple girls talking about me and one suspected that i had “attitude issues.” i did not actually have attitude issues in the slightest, i was actually just very shy and nervous (had severe social anxiety) but my resting face combined with me not being at all talkative i guess, came off in a somewhat negative way. at the same time, often random people would come up to me and try to start a conversation. so maybe i have both approachability and intimidation to a certain degree? 🤔 just rambling lol. overall i probably belong in the down category as extravagance, drama, high effort etc are absolutely not something incorporated into my looks at all and i do feel very clownish and overdone if i do too much, i especially related to the jewelry and makeup thing- whenever i’ve experimented with makeup or heavy jewelry i end up taking it off very quick because it just feels odd and incongruent and like i just don’t “need” it. anyways, much to think about. thanks for the informative video!
thank you so much for this comment because I want to say that most people do not relate to all the words in their dimension. All the "down" words relate to the "down" but they are kind of different. In my experience different people relate to different combinations of words! For example someone with a focus on "delicate and understated" would be the type of person who doesn't like high effort looks (as in your case, wanting to avoid being overdone) whereas someone with a focus on "intuitive and personable" is more the type of person who really wants to prioritize going with their inner flow and not following the rules or expectations too much.
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita ok, that makes a lot of sense actually! i guess it is more of a “range” rather than a strict checklist, which clarifies things. i appreciate the reply 🙏
I think I lean down. As much as I like the dramatic and edgy styles in theory, I often end up going for something softer and lighter, since I prefer to feel approachable over mysterious. I do have a more extravagant "what are you doing and why?" side, since the aesthetics I'm drawn to are not a common sight where I live, but in the end, the fact is my preference is heavily based on how I just can't stand denim fabric sometimes 😂
Yeah I think this is definitely the "down essence" story. It's not thst you never want to wear the dramatic *out there* styles it's about wanting to have a flow and enjoying more relaxed and subtle outfits as well
Is it possible to be just down and not necessarily left or right? Im new to this so it may be a daft question. I definitely put my wardrobe together in a left.down way (I think) it's all from emotion, whether i want to use my clothes to stand out or hide away for example. But the right down key words from one of the original videos really stood out to me. I seem to have elements of left and right down in my whole essence
Thank you for this great question! The system and my learning materials are designed for people to choose one quadrant and to work with that. However you are obviously not bound by this idea and how you choose to use the system is completely up to you. I would say that if you connect with the LD style logic more I would explore the LD/Ruby but allow yourself to bring in whatever words you want
@@StyleThoughtsbyRita thank you for answering ♥️I'm literally three days into exploring this so still finding my way. Happy for any avenues to explore so will look at this for sure ♥️

Watching this, I realize I might relate to more down words than I thought 😮

Glad it was helpful!
Omg u just introduced me to a whole new world. This is brilliant thank u
Oh my, I finally catched up with this mini series. I have so much keywords in the up part I'm dying 😂
Love the short video and the concept really hit home! Super useful! ❤

I'm so glad you could place yourself and everything you describe makes a lot of sense to me!

I think I have up essence but I have been trained or chosen to wear down so that people like me and I don't feel lonely.

This video helps a lot! I saw a clear difference
This confirms that I'm LD😊

This is so helpful in understanding more about the keywords! Can multiple keywords within a quadrant apply to one individual?
yes of course and I think we can shift our keywords as we like
