Another star studded video showing the installation of Tusk Folding Glass Windshield w/ Wiper & TUSK MIRROR KIT W/A-PILLAR MOUNTS on my 2020 KRX 1000. As usual, my install had all kinds of issues but penetration did eventually occur. The Windshield has performed very well and I am definitely glad I got it! The side mirrors are super tough compared to the plastic ones that I had on previously. Watch to the end or to at least when it is finally installed as I had a lot of issues and I really do not want anyone else to ever have to go through what I did. This video has lots of bitching, lots of wind noise and some surprise ratchet noise! BUT it is a complete install from unboxing to the bitter end.
Also, nothing important said during the chip monk chattering...

Oh man Brandon, that was not fun to watch, I feel for you! Mine already had the factory glass windshield on it. I went with the Tusk mirrors so they would mount low and allow me to use the Tusk Wind visors. I did put the brackets on backwards to start and the mirrors hung at an angle. Switched them and all was well. I did remove the windshield when I installed them so I wouldn't risk hitting the glass when working in that front corner. I had to remove the driver side mirror again when I installed my light bar and ran the wire inside the cage pillar. Recently installed the Tusk glass rear windshield and that was a PITA too. Definitely a 2 man job. This past weekend installed the full Trail Armor skids. Had trouble getting 2 of the factory screws out on the sides below the doors, but eventually got them. I have the Full Access UTV Transmission plate and ended up having to get 2 longer bolts for the furthest rear mounting holes. 2 of the Trail Armor holes don't line up, so I drilled 2 holes in the transmission plate and used self tappers for those. Thinking I'm just about done, but you know how that goes! 😂

I am holding off on the rear glass for a bit. I am trying to get a skid plate done before my next big ride. I have the skid plate and hope they are able to work with it and will not have any issues. It works but like you said, may need to get some longer bolts. I am positive my next install is going to go great! 😜

It puts the FU in FUn. That's great. Something like this happens at least once with each of my projects.

Yeah, I swear I try to have everything planned out ahead of time. To be fair, a lot of the time it is something caused by me :)

I have this combo and it wasn't fun to install, but mine went more smoothly than your install. I didn't do the windshield and Tusk mirrors at the same time. Did the windshield first then the mirrors a month later. I love the windshield, mirrors are okay. I had Seizmik on my RZR and don't remember if the mirror glass vibrated or not, the Tusk do. Not the end of the world and they do stick out further than most which is good, but to do it again I'd probably go with Seizmik again.
Question I've been waiting to solve is how the center upper console from Amazon works with our windshield vent. It's gotta be tough trying to open it whilst driving and having the large hump. I still want it but not sure I want to deal with adjusting the vent. Be cautious with the vent, if it's open too high when you drop your windshield down it'll hit the vent so be mindful. Don't drive too fast with windshield in the down position. Vibrations will sometimes loosen the thumbscrews so don't overtighten them or anything, but check they didn't back out when you take a piss break on the trails.
Have fun with the rear Tusk glass should you choose to add it. That wasn't much more fun than the front, fyi. And the entire combo didn't seem to lessen any noise whatsoever, and in fact locks the sound in so it's probably worse. Also with front and rear you'll have a MAJOR vacuum for dust going on. Put down the front windshield and you're golden.
All in all, I do enjoy the entire setup. Pain in the ass but good stuff imho.

The Amazon console works fine with the windshield. The obvious issue is getting it open. It opens, it's just a bit more difficult to make it happen. It does block the vent and may cause the air to go more toward driver and passenger instead of straight in but honestly I haven't used it enough to really see how that is going to work. I have a long trip planned in a few weeks and I can comment back after that. Overall I am very pleased with the windshield. I really like the mirrors as well as I only have some cheapo mirrors to compare it against. They seem to be pretty tough and will take a pretty good beating.

@@KRXBrandon Last weekend I noticed my vent for whatever reason only wanted to blow toward the driver and misses the passenger, really weird. You'd think it'd blow straight. No real wind to speak of to drive it a certain way. Anyway, maybe the hump will better distribute the air to the driver and passenger, which would be a welcome thing. The vent does nothing to help break the dust vacuum and only putting down the entire windshield does for me. To test the vent simply driving down the road for a second ought to give you a good enough idea how the air will distribute.... Also update us on whether or not you like the Amazon hump and the vent. I have been holding off on buying one.
