    Welcome back, fang gang! Join UA-camr VampX13 as she reviews the fifth episode of The Acolyte, episode 5 Night. The Acolyte is a Star Wars show that is appearing on Disney Plus staring Lee Jung-jae as Sol, Carrie-Anne Moss as Indara, Amandla Stenberg as Mae and Osha, Dafne Keen as Jecki Lon, Manny Jacinto as Qimir, Rebecca Henderson as Vernestra, and Charlie Bennet as Yord Fandar. In this series we uncover the mystery of what is happening to a once group of Jedi now split across the galaxy who are being hunted by an assassin with mysterious motives. We also explore what it means to be a Jedi or a Sith - what does it mean to walk the side of the dark or of the light? - especially during the time of the High Republic. And who is this mysterious cult of force witches that Mae and Osha were born into? We're people's minds manipulated by Jedi tricks? And is there more to Qimir's origin? TBD. Join Amanda McKnight as she explains theories, easter eggs, the plot, and lore of the show after watching her first time watching these episodes. And share your thoughts with her on the Star Wars universe and The Acolyte series in comments below.

    You are a UA-camr who I respect. Even Qimir asks why Mae didn't know it was him. Its been said (complaining) it was obvious. I think that it was supposed to be. Him blocking Mae in town was when I knew he was hiding who he was. Mae should have at least expected. Qimir seemed disappointed she missed it.
    I think some fans are having a problem accepting the fact the Jedi are fallible. They don't like any Force tradition not under their purview. They lie. They omit facts. I think Dooku so easily removing Kamino without notice is an example of the commonality of such actions.
    I'm going to venture: once Osha learns Qimir's retelling of the Brendok situation, she will turn to the Dark. Mae just wanted to have her sister. She was done with the Stranger when she discovered Osha was alive. Sol skirted the Dark Side this episode. If not for Osha he would have killed in anger. He was mad, mad lol
    I love you saying we will have to finish the season to see how it works out. People gripping from ep 1 without knowing the whole story bother me.
    If Sol goes much farther from the Light, Qimir's Master may have a new apprentice. Qimir is a liability. He exposed the Sith. Even if they are all killed, he was sloppy.

    🌪️ they made an artistic choice having Mundi in the show for the connection to the line. He makes in the movie later on but unfortunately, hard-core timeline fans rather be upset about it than just letting it go. But if that’s the case of why he’s there in the show in the past that makes it even more compelling of what’s gonna happen at the end of the show.

    🌪️ after watching part five I definitely feel like they should have put day and night together as a one episode but they probably didn’t have enough episodes so they had to split it somewhere because day and feel a lot like one episode

    🌪️ oh yeah, here’s another trigger point for me that started from the Empire strikes back and I was a bit older then. The idea that the force is either good or bad it can be manipulated either for good or for bad and that’s it. There’s no gray there’s no middle ground. It’s either you’re good or evil. That doesn’t really jive with the idea that they proposed in the first movie that the force is everywhere it’s in the ground is in the rocks in the trees. It’s in you. It’s me it permeates everything. Then basically what they’re saying is that the force is at the nature of the universe. But the only way to tap into it is either good or evil even from the first movie I was very suspicious of the power of the force.

    If the Jedi conclude that all this is related to the witches they can discard the idea of Sith, Qimir said that they would call him a Sith, but that doesn't mean that is what he is, he thinks that everything is black or white, he's not a Jedi so jedi will think he is a Sith, if Qimir master or trainer is one of the mothers Jedi can say without messing the canon that witches and not Sith were who made all this disaster.... keep rocking, and stay safe....

    Definitely the best of the series so far. I've seen the good and less than, like everyone else. Like any other franchise I watch, I go on the ups and downs of it episode to episode. But I still wait to the end. What I have found interesting, is that some content creators who've covered this episode. Have felt the need to put out a disclaimer in their reviews. Saying that though they liked parts of this episode by no means are they recommending it, still. So their own "Fandom" doesn't turn on them.

  • @Iwillone

    The thing about the line in the Phantom menace that goes overlooked is what was said after that with Mace. Palpatine went unnoticed by the Jedi and pretty much spoke of his master who’s own master is even been theorised to be in this show by the fandom. Therefore the Sith weren’t gone but in hiding.
    RIP Jecki the dropkicking/duel wielding badass and Yord who got the Zod neck snap 😮 Qimir was savage.

    🌪️ A lot of times when we as viewers are watching a show and we are kind of filled in on everything that’s going on and all characters going on. We kind of forget that some characters do not know what’s going on. The Jedi know that mae has a master what they do not know how powerful this guy is which led to their downfall in the battle. I think if I’m understanding correctly, no one has seen a dark force wielding person since the time of the old Republic, so these guys have absolutely no idea what they’re dealing with they know stories of the Sith but they never dealt with one.

      Then why would they change the information on Wookieepedia as the show aired? It was documented in real time that the lore was changed to cover their mistake. SW Theory had a live stream as they changed it.

    • @andrewlacosse2096
      @andrewlacosse2096 14 днів тому

      @@nickangelo116 So they didn't ruin any surprises. SW Theory has become a downer and is riding the clickbait anger train hard now. I think if you want to watch an objective look at it, watch Red Letter Media. They give it a much more fair shot. The wookiepedia is getting changed in real time probably by a fan. Disney doesn't do that. Fans do. And even that, I think its such a copout to not watch the show. By taking an old legends novel for fact is unfair. Be honest, is Ki-Adi Mundi's inclusion somehow ruin your experience?

    • @nickangelo116
      @nickangelo116 13 днів тому

      I boycotted Disney a few years ago. I don't watch Disney. I don't give them a penny. They brought a culture war on me, I didn't bring it to them. All I can do now is fight back with my wallet and try not to watch it. There is now a void in my life where my hobbies used to be. They took everything. Now I'm idle. All I have left is the fight. Disney can burn. All of it.

    • @andrewlacosse2096
      @andrewlacosse2096 13 днів тому

      @@nickangelo116 Doesn't that say something maybe more about you than Disney. I mean, honestly, are you that offended? Is it worth sitting in front of the computer or listening to podcasts all day just to stay angry at something? I ask honestly because all of the problems people bring up can be legit. There are positive ways to criticize stuff and realize that not everything has to be for you specifically. I don't mean that in a negative way at all. I'm just getting too old to worry about this stuff especially in today's climate. And I used to be guilty of some of this stuff. I mostly just look for positive streamers (doesn't mean they can't critique stuff), just the same way I deal with friends/partner.

    🌪️ oh yeah, also cause I heard you mention it in the video if the Sith do not follow any rules why does the rule of two exist?

  • @francisco_m7849
    @francisco_m7849 14 днів тому

    🌪️ see this is why I don’t like to think about Star Wars that much or try to interpret stuff about Star Wars. I just watched the show or movie if I find it fun and it makes sense. Great. But if I have to sit here and try to figure out like how story C fits with story a because of story B that I start to lose my mind. Then you get people who then start writing books and comic books and Novelas and a whole bunch of other stuff so to avoid getting into trouble they just say well it’s not canon. It’s actually not part of the actual real timeline and then like a cool idea that’s not canon sounds cool then they try to jam it in so it makes sense. That’s why I don’t like dealing with stories going into the past of an existing franchise. I’d rather just say I’m going to skip 1000 years into the future and this is what’s going on and if they ask, how does that look it doesn’t it’s a story that’s happening 1000 years in the future nobody from that timeline exist right now.

    The lightsaber duel between Qimir and the Jedi was fantastic. Whether Qimir proves to be the Sith apprentice or not, Sith shouldn’t be easily defeated by one or two Jedi. Qimir acquitted himself well. To all the over the top negative critics I wish they would reserve judgement until the end, like Amanda, to see what canon they felt wasn’t followed as the show is still a mystery. I avoid the over the top negativity to enjoy the series for myself and wonder if the diversity of the cast is behind some of this.

    And yet is still ambiguous if Qimir is a Sith or not... he could be just taking Sith lessons from the past (unaware that in fact the real Siths still exist in hiding) and using the name just to infuriate Sol. And he could be the apprendice of a master Sith (so he is in fact a Sith) looking for a follower that, in time (if everything goes as he planed), he will be the master and his acolyte become his apprendice. Several answers still to learn.
    The problem with several "fans" is they are unable to take the place of a character in that era. As spectactors we know abouth Siths and Jedis and in that moment in time, the Sith are "extinct" by 900 years. Is like Spain is attacked now by arabs and the cry "moros!!!!" (they called "moro" to every one that is a muslim and have dark skin in the XVI century and invaded Spain by then, being expelled by the XVIII century, so "moro" is no longer in use, how can be moros invading today?? have to be someone else... but we know that the today arabs were the moros of the past...), hope this not so good analogy could help to make understand why the Jedi was so blind about the "return" of the Sith (because they never went extinct).

    I don't think Qimir is a Sith, I think the theme of the show has been the Jedi have a closed-minded view of the Force, that you're either a Jedi or you're evil, so Qimir was saying you would call me a Sith because you are ignorant to other ways; it's a whole non-binary argument. His techniques aren't just Sith either; the way he got in the Jedi's heads similar to Osha's coven isn't a known Sith power, nor is the way he healed Osha, indicating he is an eclectic practitioner, not limited to any dogmatic faction.

    I'm glad you haven't jumped on the same "the Jedi are an evil cult" bandwagon, that some other UA-camrs have decided to jumo on... I'm not sure Qimir is actually a true Sith. I think he has been taught by Koril, and she is the real bad guy pulling the strings. Imagine if Qimir is somehow Osha/Mae's father... 👀🤣

    🌪️ but then the whole metaclorian thing kind of threw me off because then what are you saying then not everybody is able to tap into the force which again contradicts episode four where clearly Ben Kenobi says the force is in everything it exists in everything.

      The midichlorians was a misstep in the Star Wars mythology. They basically made it where only those with x amount of midichlorians could use the Force instead of making it where only people who were in tune with the Force could call on it.

    🌪️ Amanda, I’m not gonna lie. This rule of two for the Sith is really confusing to me. So is there a Lord and a master and an apprentice? If the Sith master is the number two of the Sith Lord, how is a Sith master having an apprentice? It makes no sense. Is the sixth always obligated to try to kill the Sith Lord or is that just something that is by design? I don’t get it. I don’t understand why the cyclical having to kill your previous master or Lord if the only goal is for power, it makes no sense. Then the purpose of that so the whole purpose of the Sith is to gain power. I’m not Star Wars deep dive guy, but it really is not making common sense to me and I think that’s one of the problems I’m having when it comes to this whole good and evil thing because how I am interpreting this since the whole idea of rule of two came up originally is that the Sith or constant power struggle within their own order which makes no sense then how do you get anything done like how do you actually go about fighting the Jedi if you’re constantly fighting amongst yourselves if the ultimate goal is power it makes no sense. This rule two is not clicking right in my head.

      if I may
      The rule is a survival of the fittest mentality
      There are never more than two sith in an area . Let's say Lord , Master , & Apprentice landed on the same planet ; the Lord would command the apprentice to battle the master . If won the apprentice becomes the new master . Alternatively if the apprentice refuses and teams up with the master and wins , there will be a new Lord and master . Hope that helps.

      I feel like people were throwing around two names mainly, Qimir and Mother Aniseya. For me it was between Indara, Vernestra, and Qimir I think after Episode 4, but then again I didn’t even have him as a suspect until after Episode 4 so I don’t think it was blatantly obvious or anything like that. I also feel like with a mystery story, suspecting the correct person, especially later in the game and then getting that pay off can be a good thing. It makes the viewer feel like they were rewarded for their insight. So long as you don’t catch on too early. Were people suspicious of him since Episode 2? Because I know I wasn’t. lol 😅
