The biggest mistake that Kid made was not just assaulting the red hair pirates, thinking he can handle it, but attacking the Giants intheir own homeland and they are not so forgiving
Funnily enough I think the other giants will save him because Kid is one of the ones that took down Big Mom whome the giants have a grudge with, Dorry and Broggy wouldn't have known about her though.

If you go frame by frame between 1:26-1:31, there are so many references to Nika the sun god and his meaning to the giants of Elbaf (different suns, the two giants in the Nika pose) One Piece animators are doing such cool work adding these little references in the fights there have been recently (for example : Kaido vs yamato, Zoro vs King)
So I stopped watching and switched to the manga around the start of dressrosa because the pacing was too bad, but I laughed out loud at 1:00 because theyre still using the same damn song for almost every epic moment. Was kinda nostalgic ngl.
Something to remember is that the first one was performed when they were both tired and injured with weapons that were on their last legs. This attack that they sent has them rested at full health with new weapons so it was substantially stronger.
If you watch it at 0.25 speed you can see that when the attack is released it adopts the form of the sun, beatifully changing as the blow goes further, and even for a single frame both giants adopt the Nika pose, laughing and dancing in the same way as Luffy does in the next chapters. There is also an impact frame on Shanks attack when you can see Kids flag crossed out, and even Killers reflection appears on his blades just before being destroyed. There was so much effort and care put into this episode, the impact frames not only made the attacks feel strong and impactful, but were also used beatifully in a symbolic and narrative way, even if it didn't last for half a second. Some people will watch this fight and just think that Shank was using a Susano without realizing the amount of symbolism that was thrown into every single frame. The animation for this arc is being amazing and I can't wait to see how Galxy Impact is gona look like

Those inbetween frames they've started doing with the really menacing silhouettes are just amazing. I feel they're to highlight that while we know these characters, and they're overall good people and allies to our protagonists, actually being on the other side of a fight with them is terrifying. They did this a lot with the kaido fight too, little frames snuck in there to make luffy look menacing as hell.
Lot of people don't see exactly this is the Luffy vs Usopp fight. Usopp is fucking horrifying to face when you're not hearing his doubts and screams of fear.

i love the symbolism in the new one, lots of sun imagery and you can even see dorry and broggy doing the JoyBoy pose for a split second after they swing. no idea what thats hinting at but its really awesome and subtle
There's this one frame at exactly 1:27 where it's just their silhouettes, and it gives them Dorry and Brogy, two comedic characters, this immensely sinister aura. It's such a blink and youll miss it frame but man it makes it all hit so hard. You DO NOT mess with Shanks.
Her solo attack is called Ikoku, it's similar to Zoro's 1080 pound phoenix, this is the attack she used along with Kaido that broke all of Zoro's bones called Hakoku, it always requires two people, it's meant to be a combination attack.
They basically did the same thing as Big Mom and Kaido ! The Power of two mighy potentially with Haki infused attacks combined into one ! Now is the question: Could that rival the Big Mom/Kaido combo ? Potentially maybe?

Big mom and Kaido did do something similar, but with conquerors haki instead of armament. This was like a blade/spear, what the yonko did was a fucking railgun/plasma beam
I think Kaido & BM used Conq. haki, while these 2 used Arm. haki. And even if both pairs were using Arm. haki, Kaido & BM would probably still tank it.
Oh crap, I just spotted something!! If you pause at the exact right time at 1:27, there’s a symbol at the centre of the impact. It’s just straight up the Sun Pirate’s symbol. That’s definitely intentional. We never really did hear the lore behind that crews name. Fisher Tiger must have drawn inspiration from Nika’s legend, a story which is (allegedly) deeply rooted in giant history Has anyone else spotted this symbol anywhere? This is clearly lore relevant.

They did try to attack a bunch of really nice people. In fact I think Shanks was a bit surprised since he believed that Kid spending time with Luffy would have brought out the good in him but he literally sacrificed the life of his friends knowing too well what happened the first time he took on Shanks. Big mom’s fight was literally carried by Law and zoro did help here and there by providing critical slash wounds but overall Kid became overconfident in a life threatening way. It’s too bad because kids powers are story altering but in the end he is just a….kid.

The first one was done with super old weapons which clashed for over 100 years and both giants were pretty grizzled one having his insides blown up and the other having his arms and legs pierced. That's probably why the impact was more circular. The newer one where they are fully rested is on a whole different level.
And to think, over 23 years ago we witnessed an attack akin to the power of an Emperor of the Sea and didn't even know it. To be fair we didn't have any idea of the power scaling but this just goes to show you if Mr 3 didnt play dirty and rig the drink to explode he would have stood ZERO chance in hell of disrupting and bringing down these two Titans of the Sea.
Then we see absolute monsters like Big Mom do a similar attack to Hakoku all by herself called Ikoku And when Big Mom and Kaido used Hakai, it also implies Kaido got a ranged swing attack like Ikoku too
To be fair, Dory and Brogy were not exactly in the best condition when they used it on Little Garden. When they take out Kid's ship, they've just been chilling at home for a while so it makes sense they'd be able to give it a little more oomph.

I like how even though this is Brogy and Dorry’s attack, it’s still tied to Shanks’ offensive by tying them in to his mantra. The line they say about attacking their village mirrors Shanks’ line from the beginning of One Piece about how if you pull out a gun, you better be ready to put your life on the line.

if you remember, dorry and brogy hunted beasts that is about 1/4 the size of the little garden all by themselves just for the heck of it(and because some little kid asked which one is bigger) and hakoku sovereignty is basically both of them using their full strength in one big ultimate attack, of course it'd be devastatingly strong even in new world's standard
It's funny how people say the attack is more powerful. It's not. The animation just isn't 10 years old. That goldfish was absolutely massive when compared to the straw hats ship. It's not like the punk pirates had anyone to defend their attack anyway so really it's just destroying the ship which is a much smaller fest then blowing a hole in one of the biggest sea kings in the series.

Looking back it says a lot that even when we first see them, Mr. 3 was only able to take them down when they were worn down from constant fighting AND 3 had to sabotage 1 of them before he jumped the other. Even with all that strong wax im pretty sure Dorry and Broggy would have easily broken free at full strength

As a reminder, they had old and busted weapons back on Little Garden, and were also fresh off 200 battles and having their insides exploded. This is what happens when they have fresh weapons and no debuffs.

There's this one frame at exactly 1:27 where it's just their silhouettes, and it gives them Dorry and Brogy, two comedic characters, this immensely sinister aura.
It's such a blink and youll miss it frame but man it makes it all hit so hard.
You DO NOT mess with Shanks.
What's more impressive is the fact that big mom can do this solo
She's a giant already.
And she had the insane haki of a yonko.
Her solo attack is called Ikoku, it's similar to Zoro's 1080 pound phoenix, this is the attack she used along with Kaido that broke all of Zoro's bones called Hakoku, it always requires two people, it's meant to be a combination attack.
No big Mom can do this move Alone, the spear of Elbaf.
Her Combo Move with Kaidos is on another level.

Big mom and Kaido did do something similar, but with conquerors haki instead of armament. This was like a blade/spear, what the yonko did was a fucking railgun/plasma beam
I think Kaido & BM used Conq. haki, while these 2 used Arm. haki.
And even if both pairs were using Arm. haki, Kaido & BM would probably still tank it.

That’s definitely intentional. We never really did hear the lore behind that crews name. Fisher Tiger must have drawn inspiration from Nika’s legend, a story which is (allegedly) deeply rooted in giant history

They did try to attack a bunch of really nice people. In fact I think Shanks was a bit surprised since he believed that Kid spending time with Luffy would have brought out the good in him but he literally sacrificed the life of his friends knowing too well what happened the first time he took on Shanks. Big mom’s fight was literally carried by Law and zoro did help here and there by providing critical slash wounds but overall Kid became overconfident in a life threatening way. It’s too bad because kids powers are story altering but in the end he is just a….kid.

The first one was done with super old weapons which clashed for over 100 years and both giants were pretty grizzled one having his insides blown up and the other having his arms and legs pierced. That's probably why the impact was more circular.
The newer one where they are fully rested is on a whole different level.

The definition of a glow up
To be fair, Dory and Brogy were not exactly in the best condition when they used it on Little Garden. When they take out Kid's ship, they've just been chilling at home for a while so it makes sense they'd be able to give it a little more oomph.
After blocking Conquest of the Sea from Big Mom and Kaido, think that for Zoro tanking a shot like this would just be a normal day at office!

if you remember, dorry and brogy hunted beasts that is about 1/4 the size of the little garden all by themselves just for the heck of it(and because some little kid asked which one is bigger) and hakoku sovereignty is basically both of them using their full strength in one big ultimate attack, of course it'd be devastatingly strong even in new world's standard

It's funny how people say the attack is more powerful. It's not. The animation just isn't 10 years old. That goldfish was absolutely massive when compared to the straw hats ship. It's not like the punk pirates had anyone to defend their attack anyway so really it's just destroying the ship which is a much smaller fest then blowing a hole in one of the biggest sea kings in the series.
They've gotten stronger.

Looking back it says a lot that even when we first see them, Mr. 3 was only able to take them down when they were worn down from constant fighting AND 3 had to sabotage 1 of them before he jumped the other.

What's up with the people on the comment section downgrading Dorry and Broggy attack, and comparing it to Big Mom and Kaido. Both feats seems insane to me.
As a reminder, they had old and busted weapons back on Little Garden, and were also fresh off 200 battles and having their insides exploded. This is what happens when they have fresh weapons and no debuffs.
