I hear you and I thought about that. However it's better to be done as a joint process with a producer. Selling lyrics without production leads you right back to the production process. Because unless you know an artist and get in the studio with them it's a lottery ticket chance the sell will happen.
You got me, Afrobeats & The Great Fela messed up! Talking bout Afrobeats like it’s a trend. Afrobeats is a spirit. Afrobeats is a vibration. Afrobeats to the World 🌍
You're both right. It is a spirit but to the commericial industry, the big labels, they have no spirit anyway and see things as trends, as time and space, not as spirit and soul. If they saw music as spirit, soul, they'd not do what they have done for years. Ripping off artists and acting like a bank rather than a true label. So you're right, afro bear is a vibration, it is a spirit but it is also to these corporation nothing more than a trend. I see it this way, if you want to make money in this music world, you got to see the world for what it is instead of how you want to see it.
Can you sell music you have written/recorded over free UA-cam beats? Should I look into buying the exclusive rights so it’s not an issue when selling the song to an artist ?
I disagree with the first part music has not changed in 20 years. Its still trap. the same ol high hats, and fl studio as the holy grail of music production . Nothing has changed.
*Not 20… more like 15… but yes, it’s been ‘trap’ for waaaaay too long. Producers aren’t making new styles, everyone is too concerned with conforming. I could go into all the symptoms & solutions, but y’all ain’t trying to hear all that from ME..*
Great advice again Casey, it's appreciated! (I previously commented on the copyright history vid.) I would get myself on the 60 day course, but the system is a bit different in the UK. Still, I listen to your tips and try to re-imagine them from an non-USA point of view. For instance, we have 'Ltd co." instead of 'Lcc." I'm setting up a diy label here for real. Relative to today's vid, I'm probably an 'active retro producer,' dealing in rock - which never seems to go out of fashion (completely lol). I'm also pretty good with lyrics, so this vid is full of valuable info. Nice work! Johnni McCloskey (Back Street Angels).
Nah man every artist is not a writer. You have some "RECORDING" artist who are better at giving a performance that writing a record. That's why the music business is an eco system.
@@Sentinel5150this is not te correct analogy for example, you can be a great singer but that doesn’t mean your a great song writer but if you put both together you make a great song and thats the main goal also you need great producer etc. everyone does their part when it comes to a sport as for this is music business
Definitely, hitting the points. Can’t put this course off any longer
You just gotta be authentic with your self. And it will always be new.

Much appreciated but this seems more about the music also. What about just the lyrics? No beats, just the words, how does that all work?

How can I ask questions on here I watched the entire live still cant, how can one get on?
Define A&R’s in music?
OR just create your OWN sound....as an artist....THATS OUR JOB....to CREATE!
sometimes you get an idea for Rhianna lol
@SonOfUnagi true, and even THAT, is SUPPOSED to be CREATED....an Artist by definition CREATES.
