Thank you for this super helpful video and for all the answers to peoplets questions in comments!. I have my test in two days. Question: is learning the 5 courses by hard necessary or the proctor will be indicating me where to turn. If He will be indicating me, apart from MIGI and HIGARI and the numbers what other japanese phrases do you consider important to know? (sorry my japanese is really basic despite trying). Thank you
Hi Maria proctors at Samezu are quite considerate of the Gaijin population appearing for the driving license exam. You may not need to learn the 5 courses but it is to familiarise to the circuit and route as a Pre-test preparation. Proctor will guide you for each step during the test. I would suggest - greetings in Japanese - When you meet and when you finish - numbers (as circuit is marked with numbers and you will need to follow the route) - they will concentrate on your driving - safe driving skills than in Japanese so relax if you only know basic. I wish you luck for your driving test. Stay calm and focused on control over the vehicle and checks.
Thanks for creating this video. I was wondering if there was a test of lane change any where on the course? Also, while waiting at the traffic signals, is it advisable to bring the transmission to 'Park' mode (and maybe even the the parking brake up)? Or can we leave it at 'Drive' with the brake constantly pressed?
Hi Deepak Proctor will test you for lane change when you have to change it before the turns. There will be a few lane changes that you will undertake before turning left or right. No need to bring the car to neutral or park on a red light.
Hello, thanks for your videos. I have some questions, I hope you can help me:😢 1. Is there a railway crossing? 2. Side mirrors, where are they located in the car? I don't want to go looking for them, sorry if the question is very stupid. 3. Is there a slope to climb? I have seen that in other places, there is a peak where you have to climb it. 4. Is it advisable to tell the instructor that your Japanese is not very good? 5. In the curve S or Z, the light must be turned? To indicate left or right? Thank youuuuu 😊
Hi there The railway crossing is not part of the test at Samezu. Though there is a area in the circuit. In case of a railway crossing, you need to fully stop before the railway track, roll down the window, look out, right, left, right and move if you it is all clear. Side mirrors are the wing mirrors in the left and right doors. They are adjusted to your need so that you can get a better view of traffic behind you on both sides, before you start driving No slope climb test at Samezu Yes, you can let the proctor know. Be courteous and polite with them. They usually direct you by telling numbers. It will be great if you know numbers in Japanese. Knowing the circuit and marked turns with numbers in the video will help you identify the numbers and turns. Yes, side indicators must be used at curves while entering, turning and exiting. Giving turning indicators at each turn is highly recommended. It carries points for using it and you can avoid loosing points there. I hope this helps. Best of luck.
Thank you very much for the answer, really. 🥺 In the question about the mirrors, I was referring to where the button is to configure them, or if they are manual, or if they have a lever to move them to my liking. @@littlereddevil3583 Hello, thank you very much for all your tips and your answers I passed the exam on my first try, i'm very happy!! thank you so much !
@Little Red Devil - Hi, I have 3 questions. 1) for a right turn on "lanes with turn right only" arrows (like the ones above no. 17 and 14), do you still need to position yourself more towards the right side of the lane before turning? 2) similarly, if you want to turn left, do you need to position yourself more towards the left when on the lanes with both "go straight or turn left" arrows? 3) when turning right from 14 to 8, can you turn to position yourself to the left of the lane after turning if I want to turn to 11? Or do I have to stick close to the middle line and reposition to the left at 8 after turning?
Hi Jack My answers in sequence of your queries 1. While you enter the specific turn lane, it is better to keep to the side of the turn as a best practice. Ensure turning signal remains active. The reason of moving to the side is to not only let vehicle behind you know your intention to turn in the direction but also to avoid any two wheelers to pass by if there is gap left. So yes. 2. In case it is a lane allowing you left and straight - then keep vehicle on to left of you have to turn else keep it in center if you have to go straight. 3. Guidance is to keep vehicle to your left as much as you can when ever driving in any lane. You may take a right turn from 14 to 8 but keep the vehicle to your left and continue for your left turn for 11. Remember there is a blinking red light at that intersection/ T turn which is a tomare( stop sign) so bring vehicle to stationary for 3 sec and then proceed for the turn. Best wishes for your test.
Hi Dipak, at Samezu this light is a red blinking light. Please make sure you completely stop at this light and then proceed for your turn. Red blinking light acts as a “Tomare” Stop sign. It will always be RED. Another place where you will need to demonstrate a similar action is at stop or tomare sign near no. 20 in the circuit. One ☝️ important point, Samezu has a right turn signal at the red light so wait for it to turn green before you take right turn. Practising circuits do not have this right turn signal and people tend to miss this signal.
Hi Ajay Mostly you will be asked to S-curve 2, You will have to give left turn in this case. But if you are asked to take the S-curve 23, in that case give left indicator while you are completing the S-curve turn and as soon as you see the obstruction - use right and then left as to pass the obstruction in the routine.
Very helpful video. May I confirm if there is only one blind spot denoted by number 19 ? So there is an assumed left turn or go-straight around the blind spot ? Sorry if not asking the right question
Hi Manish The blind turn at Samezu is between 6 and 19 during the test. One will need to demonstrate a slow move, brake and check on left, right and left and move slow, brake and check before you proceed for a right turn. Checks will be opp if you will turn left from this turn but pause twice action will remain same.
@@littlereddevil3583 sorry a separate question. How much time is given from the time your specific driving test course is announced to the actual driving test with the proctor
Hi he time may vary on your sequence on the proctor’s list. You will anyways have minimum of 10-15 mins to review the test module that you will be tested in that day. This is the time when proctor checks documents for all the candidates approaching for the exam. If you are not number 1 you will have more time.
Yes you should make two brief stops to demonstrate that you made enough efforts to check for traffic carefully on a blind turn. Stops have to be very brief and check left and right and move a little forward and again stop and check and then make a final turn. It shows that you were ensuring a better visibility of the vehicular/ pedestrian movement before proceeding and driving through. I was told you get full marks for doing the same. If you slow down and not completely stop is also accepted but it has to be twice and acceptance also depends on your proctor.
When you finish the test, how are you supposed to enter the blue zone? Other practice sites have it formatted differently, like turn left into the area, but here it looks like you drive straight into it. Do you need to signal? Also, when turning left or right into the street with the number 20, which lane do you go into?
Keaton-San While you are about to finish the test, we you get into the parking lane over the dotted lane only. Left bottom in the layout. Remember to stop before the parking pillar number with car bumper not crossing or not even coming parallel to the pillar. Put car to parking; hand brakes, engine off, belt off, seat retracted. Permission to get off from proctor, check right shoulder, open door a little and check for traffic, step out, close door first half and then full. Walk from the front of the car to the left to the proctor. On turning left into the street, always keep your car to the left after the turn. You may then make a choice to keep right only if you intend to take a right turn. Note that Samezu has right turn signals so wait until it turns green.
