I'm sometimes so curious how general shops like this work... there's no way anyone was going to just walk into a souvenir place and walk out with a $2,500 Egyptian statue to throw in their suitcase. Is it random stuff they got cheap from estate sales? Is it just secretly a storage place for the owner's Elvis collection?! Does it all just pay for itself when tourists think, "Oh yeah, let's go back this year to that store with the T-Rex in the window!" The ways of small businesses are truly a mystery to me. Great video! When I was a kid in the 70’s we did Myrtle Beach for family vacation a couple of times. The Gay Dolphin was always a treat. And Pirate Land!🐬🏴☠️

I grew up going to Myrtle and the Gay Dolphin was a required stop on the trip! I haven't been there in YEARS.....thanks for the fun trip down memory lane! It hasn't changed!
I clicked so fast when I saw Gay Dolphin! One of my friends raved about going there when visiting on vacations & took me once, I got a shark tooth necklace and we spent a long time wandering 😊
I’ve visited the Gay Dolphin dozens of times with my family during our Myrtle Beach vacations! It’s a bizarre place and this is so incredibly nostalgic for me 😂😊
I went this summer for the first time and got the little jar you fill with seashells but got annoyed that I had to write down what each one was and the price 😂

Went there with my daughter on a trip! Super cool place and definitely tight and crowded! It’s like grandmas house 😊
