Cool video - Mine is installed in the basement & I had to use 4 inch pipe with a 3 inch cold air intake. With that I have to clean it in March to keep it running properly. My stove is an Englander stove and my model leaves enough room under the exhaust pipe in the rear to place a tub to catch the ash. Mine runs 24/7 from October to May & I use 6 tons/year.
Thanks ya mine runs 24/7 also it's my only heat source for our house
Before you run that brush tie a bag to the bottom and all your ash will fall in to that.
Good video Justin, I cleaned my blower with a leaf vacuum, but it's probably not as good as taking off the motor. Was the new gasket expensive and hard to get? Thanks
Thanks. A new gasket is around $25. ThIs was my first time taking it off but probably if you just take all the screws out instead of trying to twist it into the groove and gently use a scraper to loosen it it might not break. Good luck of you try it
Rtv gasket maker auto parts store make a high heat one love the stuff
You say it keeps your house warm, (70°) but what is the square footage of your house? Is it an open concept? Tractor Supply had these on sale today for $999.00, so I bought one and its sitting here waiting to be installed. Lol. I see lots of videos of people cleaning it 2 or 3 times a week. Is that really necessary in your opinion? Thanks
My house is around 2k sf. Ho often you clean it depends on how hot you have it set the hoter you have it the more ash that you have and the quality of pellets. I noticed some pellets will clump easier and some the ash blows to the side more.
@@justinsworkshop6636 ok I guess we'll see how well it works then. Its an old farmhouse. The downstairs is 1,450 sq ft. Its not open concept, so the heat has to make it to each room. Is yours the same way? If so, howndo you move the heat around? I do have ceiling fans in each room.
@@justinsworkshop6636 I'm only worried about heating the downstairs, not the upstairs. Total sq ft of my house is 2,600 sq ft.
@jeremyrobinson9829 I love mine it does good for our house on lower settings
Have you had any problems I hear good things about them and I hear bad things I seen this video was 3 years old wondering if you had any problems with it
Only problem I've had was I replaced the ignitor for $10-$15 and the temp control bord which they Warranty for me but other than that I love it. It's my only heat source so it runs all winter and on setting one it keeps my house around 70 deg
Im pretty sure that fan isn't supposed to come apart like that pelpro says to take the rest of that off lol
It would made a lot more sense friend if you have to keep your vacuum cleaner running and a bucket underneath the pipe to catch the soot .
I normally do but didn't this time to show people how much builds up.
The wife will kill you 😭👍God bless keep safe
You don't silicone the cleanout?
No I never have. It's a tight fit and bo smoke comes out it. It would be a pain to remove if I did.
how much use was that from
Sorry I don't remember I normally clean it once a winter
@@justinsworkshop6636 thanks,,, what brand type pellets are you using by chance
@@bills4275 depends I normally buy from lowes but brand wise who knows they are always different. At the beginning of winter I'll buy about 2-3 bags from different places to find the one that burns the hottest and cleanest. The 2 lowes near me both have different brands and sometimes they will have 2 or more brands.
