The fact that people have made this about their looks is disturbing. No one should be calling Onezwa ugly or a nobody. Equally, Nara should not be punished because she is light skinned and considered to be aesthetically pleasing by some. None of them made themselves. It reminds of the backlash darker skinned women exhibited against light skinned women growing up. There were sayings like “black is beautiful, white is common” “oh she is not beautiful, just light in complexion”. Black on black hate should stop.

I'm one of the people who didn't get on the Nara bandwagon. Why? Her stuff didn't look natural to me. It didn't flow like a home. She had a husband, infant, and a household to run, but none of that was included in the clips I watched as real life, day to day. It felt stage to me. So it makes sense to me that it's a copy. Explain why she rarely talked about what she was doing, step by step.

By y'alls own logic, Onezwa copied from the already existing asmr content of homemade boba recipes. But she just swapped out another flavor for Guava. Onezea didn't even list the ingredients nor the amount used in her video, just her making it. Then she's never credited those content creators for their recipe.
Nara never claimed to invent the recipes she's cooking.
And she made an entirely different Boba than the Guava Boba Onezwa made, who didn't even list her ingredients or the amour. So obviously Nara had to get her recipe from elsewhere, as hae had to get Tapioca flour Boba is made out of, and the exact amount.

It’s very obvious the lifestyle she portrays is not realistic . Idc how much money you have. Spending atleast half the day in the kitchen, when you have 3 under 3 is just not possible . Someone is making up for where she’s lacking if that is the case . Probably a nanny . It’s unrealistic

    1. Y'all know, if it's actually true Nara statment to Onezwa was taken out of context. But if it were true Naraeant she enjoyed Onezwa's content and was inspired.
The fact can be, Nara simply lied to Onezwa, and doesn't actually know her content. As she was apologizing maybe she was trying to be kind.
    2. Language 101. Nara to Onezwa- "I'm so sorry you have to deal with these comments ❤your content is so inspiring"
    A. Context, the word is there was controvery in Onezwa's comments, over her being called the Nara Smith of South Africa. Whether these are the comments Nars is referring too is unconfirmed!
Regardless, obviously Nara was informed some way shape or form. Nara never claimed to know of Onezwa prior to this interaction. All that's verified is she's never followed her. So it's unconfirmed if she new of Onezwa prior to this!
But the statement "I'm so sorry you have to deal with these comments". Is simply an apology of on the behalf of others who created these comments. And most likey cause her names involved.
    B. The statement- "❤your content is so inspiring". Is simply a compliment!
"Inspiring" is a general term defined; something or someone encouraging, with the urge or ability to do or feel something creative.” (source, dictionary)
Nara didn't state this personally, as in she's was encouraged. Rather Onezwa's content is encouraging.
    C. In conclusion, Nara never claimed to have watched Onezwa prior to this interaction. Nor did she claim to be personally inspred by her.

I don't think Nara copied Onezwa. Both Onezwa and Nara are not original in this content either, lol. I am South African and I LOVE Onezwa's content. LOVE. She showcases typical rural life in South Africa, like Nara and The Bee Farm lady (don't know her name, sorry). There are now a handful of creators who do what she does in South Africa. No one is original in this. South Africans have been living like Onezwa for decades. She is just proudly showcasing that on social media 😍. Americans have also lived like Nara, she too is just famous for showcasing it on social media. 🤷🏾‍♀️

@UltraMella Have you been to the rural areas in KZN dear? Any family there? If so, many people do things from scratch. It's just not as glamarised as she does it. Of course they don't make typical westinized foods like cheese as Onezwa shows, but people have been making meals from scratch, grow food from their own gardens, get animal products from their own livestock and feed their families naturally in BEAUTIFUL rural homes for DECADES 😉 Each culture is different so Onezwa puts a Southern African twist to it, while Nara has an American feel to it.

@@nicoobrowner59 I am literally from rural kzn lol! Eshowe. And no most people are not doing that. They’re buying food from shoprite, pnp, spar and boxer. The infrastructure in rural areas is not as horrible as people who have never been there try to make it out to be. Onezwa doesn’t even live in KZN. She’s in EC. And like I said, the average South African doesn’t live like her. Not even in EC. I have Xhosa friends from rural EC. People can’t afford that lifestyle. Most people in the bundu’s live on pension or some government assistance. They can’t afford to wait for everything to be in season in order to eat. It’s too inconvenient. Yes, in the past many people did live like that but let’s not act like it’s not 2024. It’s a minority of people who live that lifestyle today. Which is why SOUTH AFRICANS are fascinated by it

    • @nicoobrowner59
      @nicoobrowner59 Місяць тому

@UltraMella OK. I think I understand your point of view. Correct me if I am wrong: Are you saying Onezwa needs to depict a 'realistic lifestyle of rural people for today's age in South Africa? (Ie. Modern). If so, why are we not hanging on the stake other content creators who display lavish city life in South Africa. Not everyone lives like that (all though some do) and they still showcase their lifestyle. Should all content creators show struggle, poverty in order to be realistic to the times? My point is, neither Nara or Onzezwa are new to living life 'organically' for the lack of a better term. They show highlights of their life. One for rural life, the other for American, city life. It may be unaffordable for most people, but isn't that what social media has been doing since forever? As an adult, you have a moral obligation to YOURSELF to not center your life's expectations on what these people show on social media. Whether you think they copied each other or not. It shouldn't be anything you stress yourself about.

@@nicoobrowner59 no that’s not what I’m saying. I think both these ladies can post whatever they want, that’s what everyone else does. And I think Onezwa’s lifestyle is more sustainable and good for the earth, but that’s just me. I prefer what she does than the city girls in Joburg. Nara on the other hand, she’s been blessed and I actually find her content funny and very unrealistic because imagine actually making toothpaste and bubble gum from scratch … in designer. Her content is aspirational because the average human anywhere in the world, even in the USA cannot afford her lifestyle. That’s why she’s so fascinating. If a lot of people could do what she does, she wouldn’t have so many eyes on her channel. But I don’t have a problem with her content either. It’s funny. But no, I’m not saying Onezwa needs to depict a ‘realistic’ lifestyle. She can do whatever she wants. Her content is aspirational to me in a way people won’t understand but I understand that it would take financial stability, lots of time plus planning to live how she lives.

The truth is in which is living authentically and who isn't. Nara is a thief. Onezwa lives in rural EC and shops and amenities are far from her house yet as a rural girl they farm vegetables, have goats, chickens etc. This is not just content but her life . she makes food from scratch because it is easier than driving far out to get stuff. She is merely vlogging her authentic and realistic lifestyle, thanks to social media. Nara is rich and lives a convenient and privileged life. She stole ideas from someone's authentic videos and started emulating a few videos then own them and she even changed her voice over to sound like onezwa.
There is a lifelong pattern of the west stealing from africaand or ideas from afdicans and owning them as their own. Go do your research on the luis vuiton pattern on their material and its origins, its an african print , ORIGINALLY. go and research the origins of "shakiras" waka waka song and how it is and where it comes from yet she claimed it was a tune that came to her mind out of the blue. So itgoes without saying there is a trend to steal from the less privileged by the priveleged and then theily fail to acknowledge or credit the originator of the content. Nara is a thief point blank. She must credit these youtubers or live her own authentic life and vlog the life of privilege and convinience
