You had me at Nintendo Switch compartment. In all seriousness, being that they are so similar, the one thing that stood out to me the most is the placement of the tripod holder. The Jumper having the holder at the bottom via straps seems like it'd make more comfortable compared to the Runner having a pocket for tripods. Pockets for stuff like tripods are always tricky, because they come in various sizes. Might have to go with the jumper.
Thanks!! :D I customize my own lens caps. If you’d like to make your own I made a video showing how I make them: ua-cam.com/video/VBtsWlZUGpc/v-deo.html
Do you fine it annoying that the quick access door is on the left side (while wearing)? Because the camera grip will be resting at the bottom, shows it at 1:39 , instead of at the top
I’ve taken these bags out in rain and snow with no issues :) Water seems to bead and be brushed off easily! That said, I probably wouldn’t take it into heavy rainfall. Hope that helps!
Ya! The magnets aren’t super strong so the clasps do need to be lined up - but since the clasps are underneath the flap, you can’t see it as you’re trying to get it closed! Oh and opening it requires you to pull down to release the clasp, so if you have a bulky item in the top compartment then it might make it harder to pull down
You said that Runner fits for MacBook Pro 16". But on their web site just mention 14". Could you please confirm it fits your MacBook 16". I am going to buy it. Thanks a lot
I can confirm that both the Runner and Jumper fit the 16” MacBook Pro. Note that with the Runner it is a tight fit zipping around the corner of the laptop. In comparison, it is a nicer fit in the Jumper which zips up without having to be careful at the corners of the laptop. Hope that helps!
Thanks for the great video. The Runner looks like it would suit my needs. Probably between this and the Peak Design Everyday pack. You compared the Runner briefly to the Peak Design pack here. Do you use the Peak Design? Do you think the additional niceties of the Peak pack (better latch system, rotating shoulder straps for easier side access, magnetic strap retention) are worth the +$100 in comparison to the Runner? Thank you!
Interesting question! For city usage, you can’t go wrong with the Brevite bags. However, the magnetic latch on the Runner really is annoying to use, so if you’re going with the Runner instead of the Jumper then it might be worth going with the Peak Design. I don’t find the shoulder straps being rotatable as making side access any easier so wouldn’t use that as a differentiator :) Hope that helps! (I also have a video specifically on the Brevite Jumper if you want to see more on great things about that bag ua-cam.com/video/13FN1SXiy2Q/v-deo.html
Hi there, Thank you so much for the video your video is the only one that shows the comparison between the two bags. Out of the the two, in terms of fitting gear in the top half of the bag, does the sapce equal the same? From the looks the runner looks like it can fit more due to having two latches? Thanks!
Hi! The volume feels very similar to me. The first latch on the runner actually makes the top section a smaller capacity than the jumper. The second latch makes them pretty equal. If there is any difference I think it’s negligible in usage so I wouldn’t take capacity into consideration :)
Wow, 2 awesome choices! I don’t own the Bellroy Classic, but the Jumper might be a great choice since it has a water bottle holder, and a removable camera compartment. Its fabric is also a bit weather resistant so light rain and snow are no issues. Hope that helps even though I’m speaking as someone who doesn’t have the Bellroy!
Hi! The website lists it as being waterproof against light rain. And from my experience it is totally reliable in light rain and snow, but probably not an extended downpour 🙂
Should work! Both have the same camera section and I’ve put my cinema camera (canon c70) in there no problem. Shown in this video: ua-cam.com/video/cMgcbq3eN28/v-deo.html
Awesome question! I got into camera gear with the goal of shooting documentary style work, so from that perspective of someone who needs to pack light and be a one person crew I would invest in Sony. I think they’re moving in an interesting direction - small form factor, amazing autofocus, wireless accessories, cage free design. I also foresee Sony using the data they’re collecting from their image stabilization software and eventually having go-pro level digital stabilization processed in camera one day (eliminating need for gimbal).
@@LilPackrat thanks for the response, I have the R6 but am looking into the A7SIII love the image out of it. Also great work on your other videos very insightful
Awesome! I’m sure you’ve seen that a7siii just got a firmware update giving it s-cinetone - Sony’s awesome straight out of camera picture profile. I think coming from a lovely canon image, you won’t be disappointed with the colour science thanks to this
Thank you. This was very helpful!

Runner has it too

Great video. Cool lens caps!
I just bought the Runner, I’m so stoked to use this gem!
Awesome!!
awesome def getting the runner
Thanks for the review!! I was wondering if you could fit two camera bodies good to know!!
This was super helpful thank you
i’m happy to hear it helped!
Thanks, that was helpful.
The one thing is holding me back is that it’s 17l I need a backpack for school and phot. I hope they make a 25l orb soon
Awesome comparison!
Can you take out the big pocket blocker. If you dont have camera equipment. To fit things like books in?
Yes you can!
@@LilPackrat oh my gosh thank you so much xxx
No problem!
Great review! Do you have an affiliate link for the pack? Would love to give you credit since your video has convinced me to buy the Jumper! Thanks!
That's very kind of you to ask :) I don't have an affiliate link but I really appreciate the thought!
What color is the Runner backpack?
Thanks, good review.

Any protection from water/rain? I have it, I just haven't seen any information on weather resistance 🤔

Hello! Awesome review! Btw is the runner easier to open, or the jumper?
thanks! I find the Jumper easier to open and close :)
this was really helpful! the runner’s top pocket seems really difficult to quickly access. does that seem to be the case when you used it?

Hi, Excellent comparison. The latch on the Runner, is that magnetic?
Thank you! Yes the latch is magnetic :)
@@LilPackrat Thanks for the info!

Is this the Large Jumper or the original one you are comparing it to?
Ah sorry this reply is probably too late to help. It’s the original. They both are.
No worries. I wound up buying the larger Jumper and it is great.@@LilPackrat
The flap top looks more sophisticated. Less like a childrens school backpack.
Hey I considering the bellroy classic backpack or the brevite jumper, which one should I get?

Hey! I was thinking about getting it sooner or later. But I'm just wondering is the backpack waterproof?
Hi! The website lists it as being waterproof against light rain. And from my experience it is totally reliable in light rain and snow, but probably not an extended downpour 🙂
Would you say both are good to house a DSLR with a battery grip attached? Or would that be a tight fit

What’s on the shoulder strap?
Sorry for the slow reply! I have Peak Design Capture Clips attached to the shoulder straps :) they’re great for easy access to your camera!

You shoot Canon and sony? Interesting - I have considered this but seems like it would create redundancy, may I was why you shoot both?
Oh in this video I was just showing how much you could pack in the bag - I wouldn’t normally shoot with Canon EOS R and Sony A73.
@@LilPackrat But you do invest in both systems?
Yes I do :) I am invested in Canon’s RF system and Sony as well.
Which system do you recommend investing more into: Sony or Canon?

What is that blue carabiner?
Looks like the "Toolz" multitool from 3-Legged Thing
Exactly!
how is the weather sealing for the runner
Decent! I’ve taken it out in light snow and rain with no issues.
Yh those top thing on the runner looks like shit
Do you know if the 16" 2021 MacBook Pro would fit in the Brevite Runner? The M1 Apple Silicon powered laptop measures 14" x 9.75"
My work laptop is a 16” MBP and it fits :)
