I had a similar issue with vfd carrier package system. But the blower motor was good checked electrical whindings before condemning the vfd. Blown fuses(2) replaced them blew the new fuses. Replaced vfd set up the parameters on the new vfd.

You never tested the VFD. maybe it wasn't bad?
Yea I know I didn’t get it on video but when I opened it up it was burnt inside capacitors on board blew out.
