@@devote most the footage was the intel nuc 12 Serpent canyon, which I have a video of on my channel, and then a few games were shown on the Geekom IT13 which I just posted a video on earlier.
The only reason I stopped myself from ordering this is because there are more than a few reviews saying the drive died quickly after trying to play games, and another review said it had malware, or something. If anyone knows of one of these that is decent, please let me know. I’ve had so many problems trying to get Wii U (Cemu) to work, and I can’t find anyone to send me just a pre-configured emu with folders set up properly (no games) …so if anyone wants to be my hero and do that, it’d be much appreciated!
@Madlittlepixel - I wanted to take a moment to say thanks for the great and useful content. I absolutely love the chan and the content. I think the thing i like the most is that you tell it like you see it and don't pull punches. Started watching as a fellow Saturn collector/fan and stayed.
Makes you wonder if these are even made in China... cuz they... well, don't suck. Full libraries for NES, SNES, GB, GBC, SMS, Genesis, Game Gear, TG16 and Neo Geo should just be standard. The files are so small, it doesn't take up space, and as long as you don't have duplicates and rom hacks or PAL/JPN games mixed in with the NTSC stuff... its not overwhelming. As for everything thats NOT That... I wish they would just stick to common top 100's you can find on the internet... and flesh out the difference with stuff like shooters and RPGS... which everyone seems to find fans of even if they aren't on top 100 lists. If they actually made a drive like that one day, I might pony up and get one. What makes these setups is the excellence in the build... just turn it on... and it all just works without any futzing with settings. The other thing is presentation. Its a LOT of work, but if each game has box art and a little details on the game... that really is the cherry on top.
Looking forward to the build videos... and hopefully they'll drive a bit more custom Launchbox's way - maybe you could do a video right in the lead up to Black Friday when they have the one day sale?
I'd rather stick with a retro build I made myself. That way, I know everything that has gone into it and I know it's all clean. I currently have a 5tb drive with RetroBat set up on it for plug and play use on any of my PCs. For someone who doesn't know how or doesn't want to learn, I suppose these are a viable alternative but I wouldn't be trusting some rando on Amazon when it comes to my computer's security.
Its up to each individual if they buy it or pass, I personally I would buy it since I own several of the titles included in the drive. On the safe side, recommend to play on a PC or laptop that is not connected to the internet. Offline only!
is there any concern about malware or something being on these drives? I'm kind of interested because of the time it saves but also seems really sketchy
When got my Wii wanted to Modd and add games with Homebrew tons of Videos on how to set up where totally useless. Bought A SD Card with all info set up made life easy and learned how to add gamecube games on a seperate Hard Drive but intial set up made me want to drive to peoples houses and smash their computers to pieces
Exactly I don’t understand the UA-camrs saying, this should be illegal? Is like being the moral police but they got it themselves and then put a video up for views.
Nice to hear the shift to teaching "how to fish". I get it, not everyone has the skill or wants to take the time to set up a build, but seeing people sell others work is frustrating.
If people that made vidoes made them for dummies without leaving things out then would be a issue, But most Launchbox vidoe makers leave out important info assume that parts are know and just leave out tons of info. Im not talking about where roms can be found but not having all info in the video a big deal for dummies. Not split up over dozens of videos
I wanna be you because it's gonna be worth the wait and have it backed up forever?! I have shitty hardware so I'm always looking at the cheapest options to emulate.
Found one with 4280 games very good condition from Amazon warehouse for $78 plus tax, should come by Sunday. Recently got a Rog Ally and started messing with retrobat and boy I was missing out all these years being a console gamer. Should be able to copy everything from this HDD to your own better reliable storage devices right?
How can B is for Build create a custom one off mustang and call it an “Eleanor” and have it confiscated but you can make a UA-cam video on a highly illegal retro game stick and not get in trouble? I don’t get it?
I love watching these drive videos. I wouldn't personally buy one but I really enjoy seeing what is on them. Recently i really like seeing the pc games!
maybe a good candidate for the atari vcs ryzen although if i was going to go through all the trouble of buying a drive and setting everything up i would want my own list 😅
Its edited slightly, but had to change somethings in the video and editing the original screwed it up on youtube, so I added some thoughts and footage and reuploaded.
Similar HDD issues with drive getting faild read, it appears the quality of the HDD is poor (maybe refurbished drives?) 🤔 I did try to backup the games data to better drives to save the data from getting corrupt, and noticed the bad HDD is copying in pulses 😔 , at least i was able to back in almost a day.
Oh my God I saw ur review on AliExpress with same background photo on ur monitor every thing is same at ur background PC I'm surprised 😅😅😅😅u just add photos didn't comment on the review
Every time I see a video about these things, it really bugs me that they always have a list of pc games labeled as "PS4" I mean ultimately I couldn't care less because I am never going to buy such a device, but it just bugs me for some reason.
Bro, stop snitching! Video game companies screw over consumers everyday just look at the lack of priority on video game preservation, stupid micro transactions, loot boxes, releasing unfinished or buggy games, and over priced monthly subscriptions. C’mon my dude stop being the moral police. If it’s being sold on Amazon just buy it, or not. Just let it fly under the radar and keep it moving. 🤷🙅
Bro, no ill will intended. Hell, I love your channel and the content that you put out. You are definitely one of my top UA-camrs I watch for product reviews and gaming tech. I get it dude secure your bag and make your money. I have no issues with showcasing these bootleg hard drives. I actually think it’s cool to show people what they’re getting before they go out and spend their hard earned money. I just think your titling on these bootleg hard drives comes off like a moral police snitching. Look bro, I’m just some random dude on the Internet just voicing my opinion don’t listen to me. I’m still gonna sub, comment, like and share. Keep the awesome content coming my dude! 👍✌️
Its edited with some different footage, info, and text overlay in the beginning mentioning it, plus a different voice over for the beginning and end. Plus the video is slightly shorter than the original. But essentially yes a reupload that I had to do in order to get the video back online. Had a youtube issue crop up with the original, so it may be a lost video. This was essentially to make sure some version of it was still live. If the original video gets fixed it will go live again at some point.. would suck for the video to be lost with over 300,000 views lol.
Wow these companies are starting to fly a bit close to the sun. They're getting bold, I'll give them that. I wonder where the game developers and platform holders are? They don't seem to be doing much in response to these things. It's always been a cat and mouse game but this getting a bit out of control.

I mean it's a possibility, so use at your own risk
I ended up with drive as well. Mine works fine. I’ve also been using it to push windows mini pcs
You'd think that Nintendo would find out about these and take action against them by now.
My 12tb is on the way. Can’t wait.
I bought a 4tb one for the same price from AliExpress. I was going to make my own gaming HDD, but a new HDD is about $120.

Does it come with gamecube Mario party and pp2/psp wwe raw vs smackdown ?
Emulation is the way to go
They may get banded since I hered that Nintendo's legal team konws about these hard drives and has been talking with Amazon about getting them banned.
You say it's plug and play..however you still need a mini PC correct?
How much free space is left on the device when you first got it?
Do you have to pre-download the emulators on your PC or do they already come pre-installed on the hard drive and you just click and play
I got this but can't get the switch stuff to work. The emulator crashes right away. So idk I'm working on it.
@MadLittlePixel I am starting to think many of these offerings are just a really sly way to sell ROMs.
Can I just plug into TV and go or what else would I need

Is there one of these drives that u recommend? Out of the ones you have reviewed?.
Can you use this on your TV or do you have to use it on PC?

where did you get the background on your PC?
I would love to see you do a set up for Daphne
Are the emulators built into the hard drive as well?
Can anyone tell me which one of these has all the PS2 horror games, like Rule of Rose, haunting ground, fatal frames, siren, and kuon?
Great video, thanks!
If anyone has purchased this drive, can you please let me know what the respective file types are for the consoles?
Is there any drives that can be plugged into a steam deck?
Yeah krisskoolmods has a SD card emulator setup for steamdeck
maybe a good candidate for the atari vcs ryzen

Not all the games worked for me. None of the god of wars worked for "ps3" haven't tried the windows version yet.
which is better this one or the ssd drive from video 4 days ago? Do you think would work with steam deck.
