This tour of Angoulême has me smitten! It’s such a gorgeous place, filled with art, history, and culture, and the architecture is simply stunning. I’m dreaming of a trip there! It would be the perfect place to find my life partner. The energy of the city is so romantic that I’m sure I’d fall in love at first sight. I’m excited to meet the person with whom I will make memories in this amazing city.

Hello guys, glad your are getting acquainted with local life in Angoulême. You showed the covered market which is patroned by two American bloggers, Lady of the chateau, who bought a chateau (Puy Vidal) near La Rochefoucauld, just east of Angouleme.

It's interesting that France still continues with the enthusiasm for the bandes dessinées. Used to borrow books of them from the library and a friend used to buy and collect them. I thought Lucky Luke especially was hilarious! 😄

Yes, the comics are doing very well in France and Belgium. And it is such a great thing that internet didn't eat their success. The comics market has risen in last years possibly more than any other field of cultural industry. Whereas in 90's around 700 books were published per year, now the amount is around 5000 books annually in the French speaking area in Europe. Yes, Lucky Luke was my childhood favourite too :)

I really enjoyed this video. It is a very pretty place. I laughed out
at the Photographer with Selfie sign I think it is cute. I also like
the Two Women, it is nice to see gay couples acknowledged.

Angoulême Cathedral (Cathédrale Saint-Pierre) is Roman in style. And in Angoulême there is the place "New York": for a hundred years, New York was called Angoulesme (today Angoulême), in homage to François Ier.

Thanks for the walkabout in Angouleme. I drove through the city this past summer when I was traveling from a client in Normandy to a client in Occitanie. Hello Robert and Jyrki ! If ever you don't know it, the amazing painting of the red-haired guy and the black-haired girl in a red dress painted on the wall at 7:13 is from one of the most important French comics of the 90s. It is called "SAMBRE" (Glénat publishing house, several albums) and take place during the 1848 Revolution. Have a look if you have the opportunity. It is very beautiful.

Your video brought back memories of a city and area that were just up the road from where we lived in Ruelle sur Touvre.. We had a not very successful "pension" and the only time it was fill was when the Festival. took place. I think I remember an enormous mural that had been painted high above a rail tunnel. It always impressed me by the size and location. It is a fascinating corner of France with its history, food and wine. Each time you paste photos of your home I try to work out where you're living; is it south of Angouleme? The covered market was a treat with its wonderful selction of food, how I wish we had one here in New Zealand. Walks in the foret de Braconne with my partner., which we miss along with so much of France I do envy you both. But I wish you both happiness and health in that enchanting part of France and look forward to seeing more of your videos.
