I agree. Very frustrated at the poor choices planty Cdns have. I’m in Toronto. Big box stores are dreadful and the plants they offer are loaded with pests.

Hi David great video, go to a mom and pop store and buy an electric soldering iron, they are super cheap and are great for making holes in your pots 😂

Also tip, get a knife or something just for this and heat the end. A lot easier making holes.

Wow what an impressive Thai and at a supermarket at that! I was speechless when I saw it. Our supermarkets have yet to have these beauties in stock. I already have one, but 😊. By the way, as a fellow Planty Channel creator, there is “no relaxing videos”. LOL! 😆 I always think they will be, but they end up wearing me out.
So excited for you for your haul. I've been reworking some pothos that just needed new fuller life if the pots. I found at Home Depot in the outside garden center labled as "Vining" tons of brazils, golden, varigated, neon, all for 3.98. and for that price I rebuilt three hanging baskets for so cheap. Cause if you go into the normal plant section a pothos small is like 6.99 or 9.99 and a hanging basket is like under 20. Now it looks like I have all new full plants for next to nothing. :)

Love this, also on my wish list. I just bought a Variegated Flordia Beauty at my HEB in Bastrop. And they had some other rare plants.
5:14 I did the same thing with a screwdriver and shattered the pot 😂 went out at that moment to go get more. I use a soldering iron now and make many tiny holes

Heat up the tip of the knife on the stove that will help you have more control on making the holes the way you want 🙂
My Alocasia micholitziana 'Frydek' is one of my favorite plants. I put her in a big colorful talavera planter and she sits front and center in the livingroom so she can show off her velvety leaves to guests.
I use the dehumidifier water for prayer plants. No crispiness here

I think Thai Cons should always be repotted right away because they are so prone to root rot you'd want to look at the roots as soon as you buy it.
