I feel that 6:20 to 7:09 really summarizes the Terran vibe. A courageous and resilient race that, although lacking the evolutionary capacities of the Zerg or the technology and psionic powers of the Protoss, still managed to survive and become one of the dominant species of the galaxy. Just a bunch of human exiles who crash-landed in a hostile corner of the galaxy but somehow through sheer resilience and ingenuity survived at whatever the universe threw at them.
I'm genuinely amazed to hear this. If you think about it, an listen to it intently, you'll realise that, again genuinely, both theese tracks are not just good, or excellent. No, they are actual masterpieces. They fit the subject matter so aptly and evoke the emotions so powerfully that it would be a dis-service to think of them then anything other than.. perfect.
I was such a huge fan of the original and Brood War terran music. All of the years that I played Brood War, one of the things that stuck with me most was the music. I was reluctant to try SC2, because my life had changed (family/kids) significantly and I was afraid that I would be too biased towards the original... But, wow, I have to say, I feel as though the producers of the game (and particularly the composers) have aged right alongside of me. I was so pleasantly relieved to hear the wonderful music. And the HOTS terran music is great as well. Kudos to you terran music composers, you have warmed a BW lover's heart....well done!

Yeah I watched firefly not so long ago and must say the Terran themes are 100% definitely inspired by Firefly songs. Sooooo great :X love em both too bad firefly is no more :((
2:35 You can hear an organ solo played be Daniel A. Weiss who I've worked with many times. Never knew that was him when I was playing this game until I showed him this piece. He enjoyed hearing it in its completed form.
I like it when I'm playing a game and its quite, and all of the sudden this music kicks in. its best when this music kicks in right when you've taken the lead in a difficult game.
I just love the sounds of the orchestra being mixed with guitars, base and drums. this was a truly spectacular piece and one kick ass game! Hurrah Blizzard!!
But there's one thing the SC1 Terran themes had that this one is missing: the futuristic sound. This SC2 track is great as a standard rock and roll background music, but it just doesn't have the same atmosphere/instrumentation that gives off a feeling of being in space fighting aliens in the future.
As much as I love the music of the first one, they really pulled through in this one as well, gotta love it! In fact the only thing that sucks about playing Protoss is I don't get to hear these rockin' tunes

In terms of game OST I'm pretty sure Blizzard is the top dog. Human 1, terran 1, rock symphony, the music in the "dragons" cinematic,... can't even list it all, they're just too good.

You know I am part of the 90% of people that play Terrans for it´s music, I mean they indeed are an amazing armie but, how could you resist to such an amazingly good play list.
such a good track. Music is one of the most important parts to a game's presentation, in any game. its completely underrated and games that focus on good music are almost a dying breed. Props to blizzard for not ignoring the music portion in their game, despite it being an RTS, they still realize the importance of good music!
Nice, especially the combinations of fiddles and guitars, but i think the whole lacks of that "moment of inpiration" that gives you a boost while playing. the last part looks like a mix of rock and country music.
@daichukun If you go to the Wiki it was just a tiny force, pretty much to probe the sector. To convey the power of the UED, they find the entire system where the Terran/Zerg/Protoss reside is of little importance to them.
@0TripleHelix0 Starcraft 2 is a trilogy , this is only the first part. There are 2 more coming out , in 2012 "The Heart Of The Swarm" , and another one. So don't worry , you'll have your protoss campaign :).
@EdsonYamamoto It's just called Theme 02, the file name is like "terran_theme02.ogg" or something and there's no nametags in the file itself. Maybe it's on the official soundtrack (where they've named the tracks)
@Slangwell There are 3 different guys made the music for each race. The guy who made Terran theme is first of all, the same guy who made it in SC1 and if im not wrong the orgrimmar theme for WoW and some of the best musics in Blizzard's history. The guy who made the protoss theme also did the Nightelfs theme and was same guy who made protoss theme in SC1. And zerg dude... hehe, Blizzard got his house full of zerg posters, dolls and statues so his wife got super mad at him :P
