- This one is for the true fans... In our second Deep Dive into the Heron A-1 jacket, leather mastermind David Himel walks you through some seriously riveting topics: the history of Cordovan leathers, old-school buttons and buttonholes, slippery linings. With his trademark dry wit, David drops plenty of the leather jacket lore you know and love.

The depth of your knowledge is insane - thanks for sharing! Came here from one of Carl Murawski's videos.
Thank you for taking the time to elaborate on the provenance of leather and the history of the garments we all love here. I make small leather goods and I have a long term goal of making a sport jacket in a similar style to a cossack or rider. Would you recommend any books or resources for pattern design to get started? I specialize in wallets, belts, watch straps and other small items but have limited knowledge in designing men’s garments. Thank you for sharing this knowledge.

MR Himel!!! Any date when you will release the deep dive on the Avro?!
An Avro Deep Dive is on the list! Thanks for the suggestion :)

Very very nice, the attention to detail is impeccable.
Thank you very much!
Beautiful Masterpiece! Hoping, one day I will afford myself a Himel Bros Jacket!
I hope so too!
@@HimelBrosLeather Please advise me on an economic tassel leather, Daniel Boone like or Jimmi Hendrix jacket with tassles hanging off sleeves and across the back. Hippy style if you will. Thank You Kindly!
It's complicated to order their jackets. I wanted to order but I can't. They must make normal sizes. I'm an S in Filson. They should put size options from other brands😅
@@lucianovictorraulcarillome9032 Lucian I'm a small company all you got to do is call me and I'll help you figure out everything
.. I wish I could see more of the jacket .. keep talking, sure but keep the camera focus on the jacket itself
thanks for the comment, I'll keep that in mind.
