These glands are very complex and produce various toxins some of which act as blood thinners (meaning they prevent blood clotting among other things) and more importantly they lower the blood pressure which means the bleeding they cause isn't going to stop, all while sending prey into shock, these toxins also have some effect of blood vessel diameter. This all makes sense if you think about how Komodo dragons and other closely related species kill their prey, they have massive and powerful jaws and the make massive gaping wounds in their prey that bleed out, their venom glands then reduce BP and make them bleed out faster by preventing blood clots and increasing blood vessel diameter. You see, they have powerful jaws but they aren't a bite force predator, they use slash attacks and bleed DOT to kill their prey with toxin debuff added on prey as a bonus. These glands are actually really massive for being venom glands. The more you know right?
In an avalanche I feel like a car is better because you can stay warmer, use your phone, and use the horn to help rescue teams locate you. And if you’re lucky and can run the car it could melt the snow and keep you warm
