Orienation worked. When you left the plane you had to walk "a quarter of a mile" . A few days later you got lost and switched to " 9km off". Keep up that pace!
No, not in person, we had some meetings over zoom for our pre-departure stuff. I do know some programs have an in-person orientation in D.C. before they leave for Germany
