The Fantastic 4 has more essential stories that would link them to the Avengers than to the X-men "Mutant-verse". Secondly, would you find it odd to see X-men join forces with F4 to fight alien beings like Galactus and the Skrulls? Thirdly, why would people of earth care about the Fantastic 4 when there are already mutants that exists among them? Did the people suddenly become excited to hear about these 4 meta-humans than these mutants with crazy powers that walks among them?
