I gots 2 points to make. 1:One of the best rods in the world is the Shakespeare Ugly Stik. I've used them for at least 2 decades, and it's like you can't break them. A rod test was done to see at what weight the rods would break at. The Ugly Stik out-lasted them all! They gave up trying to get it to break...after they had loaded at least 54 pounds. Incredible! 2:Man, if D. J. hollas atcha too much, just look at him, smile, and tell him (just like Richard Pryor told someone in the movie Harlem Nights), to go home, and brush that last tooth!!! Lol..just kidding! Have a great one, man! P. S. -I saw the video w/you, Fishin' Ken, his Pops, and Slabrador Retriever. All 4 of you at once! That ain't Gold, that's Platinum, baby, Platinum! I just wish that the People's Champion, D. J, coulda been with you guys! I wish I could have been there with y'all, too! I feel like I'm with family when I watch y'all's video! Thanx for you & Hook City putting these videos on here. It's an absolute blast watching you guys fishing and having fun. Also:The next time you see D. Good show. Wish I could find some of those crappies.
Crappie cakes(Fish cakes) a fairly simple recipe mix to taste.
1. Steam crappie fillets and flake with a fork OR fine dice or mince the raw crappie fillets.
2. Mix fish with your favorite seasons (Onion, Garlic, Old Bay, and Salt, Pepper, RED HOT) START WITH 1/2 teaspoon each increase Old Bay to 1 Tablespoon to your taste.
3. Add 1/4 cup Mayo ( I use Miracle Whip)
4 . Form into for patties.
5. Roll in CORN MEAL (if breading mix is used adjust seasoning by adding more fish or 1 cup of mashed potatoes)
6. Fry until Golden Brown and Delicious!
7. Drain on paper towels.
8. Most Importantly
ENJOY!!!!!

Hey that Zatarains Crab Cake mix ain't to bad, just microwave your fillets until they are flaky and add them in place of the crab meat....

You Can make your crappie cakes the same way as you make crabcakes or fish cakes. Just press your fillets down until you most of the moisture out using some paper towels. And then flake the fish or chop it up and then mix it with their same ingredients as any other recipe for the cakes.

LOL Ron I have a baitcaster that I've had for 3 years. I only use it to fish for flounder and pan fish such as spots and white pearch. I have it paired with a medium/lite rod because it feels smaller fish on those slow days. I finally got it tuned this pass September. 1st tip. Don't spool it with braid until you get it tuned to your touch. 2nd don't let anyone else use that set-up until you have your settings memorized. 3rd buy that 3 pack of those rubber practice lures and practice ,practice, practice. Once you get it you will notice a huge difference on catching fish on slack days. I will admit one thing those 1st two years fooling around with it I got frustrated. I think if I would have just spent time in the off season practicing with it outside instead of watching the FISHING Channel dreaming of fishing I'd be way better now.

Crappie Head Tv Virginia. I live in a little town called Staunton. It's nestled between 2 mountain chains. The Allegheny mountains are to our west, & the Blue Ridge mountains are to our east. It's kinda cozy here, but there's not very many fishing spots here. Some, yeah, but not many. Oh, well...if I ever get to Texas, I'll look you up. Tell "The People's Champion" Hey for me, ok? God bless, have a great one, and, if we by any chance never get to meet down here on earth, maybe we can meet in Heaven. If God allows fishing there, maybe you, me and D. The only thing you missing is that end video shot of all the crappie that is what gets those views and puts a hot thumbnail, just my advice. I need to do it myself from now on too.
If I could only fish on spot in Texas the two mile bridge would be it. I had tears in my eyes when they shut down the ramps to build the new bridge. I must be holding my mouf right because I catch a few blues when I fish under the bridge.

Crappie Cake Recipe! !!
10 nice size crappie fillets
Half a Small red onion
1 lemon halved
11/2 Tblsp Dukes Mayo
1 egg
1 tsp Dijon mustard
2 Tsp tony zacchiries Cajun/ creole
seasoning Or any Cajun styl seasoning u like
11/2 Tbsp Italian style dried bread crumbs
11/2 tbsp of melted butter
Preheat oven to 350
Wash and dry fillets put in pan squeeze one half lemon on both sides of fish season both sides with Cajun seasoning once oven is up to temp bake uncovered for 12-15 min . Take out and let cool to room temp then cover and put in fridge for an hour til fillets are cool.
Dice half red onion in 1/8” dice ( really small but not minced) Put in a bowl add mayo mustard other half of lemons juice and the egg mix all together . In another bowl put all cooled fillets use a fork to break them up Into flakes add wet mixture from other bowl To the fish fold together then add bread crumbs and continue to fold till all mixed up cover bowl and place in fridge for 10min. Reheat oven to 375 once oven is heated patty mix into medium sized patties should get 5-6
Once patties are in baking dish drizzle melted butter on top! Bake covered with aluminum foil for 10 min then uncover and finish another ten minutes!

Crappie Head Tv my fella came home from work a little while ago. He said he's seen y'all out there. LOL small world right?! We love crappie! He's a huge bass fisherman, but we also love the crappie. Before we bought our house in East Tawakoni, we were at the slabs crappie fishing on a regular basis :) I'm not really an early morning fisherman, but he is. So he'll be looking for y'all.
