What else could you want from NFL coverage? Mike is literally the best.
I just can't believe that the NFL decides their own cases, and how is the law on everybody else just okay with it
Agreed, they are unashamedly corrupt and contemptuous of the audience. I still watch for the sport - the contest, it is entertaining but the Corporation named NFL and its execs have no ethics or morality. Greed is their god and sport is not relevant to them.
Florio is great, he’s looking out for all of us to have a safe 4th of July, and I’m also saying have a great and safe 4th of July to everyone out there!
Mike Florio playing MUT is crazy 😂😂😂
@@dante6563sames. Would’ve actually bet money against that possibility.
Can't wait for you and Chris to be back!!
Since this story may never be brought up again, I have to give my theory on the timing of the document release. I believe the NFL released the documents when they did so that they could get a few more years of “going against” the bend and then break negotiating style of Demaurice Smith. If you look back in the week leading up to the release there are several stories saying he was out, the players had enough. This Gruden stuff comes out and, and I believe he was re-elected that weekend. It’s the only time specific variable. If they wanted to do something to Gruden, they had this, why wait until week 3?
There were stories saying it was likely, but I doubt it was ever going to happen. The players don’t tend to change their leadership unless they have to, as it is when it comes to most elections. Not even political. I work in a union shop, my union steward finally got pushed out because he moved to another area of the shop with new people and we finally got a new steward because he moved to a different area of the shop, otherwise no one in my area would have run against him just like the previous two elections. People would still complain about him, myself included, but none of us wanted the job either. The new steward didn’t even want the job, had to get talked into running and did so last minute 🤷🏻♀️
Basically, imo, the majority just tend to be lazy and choose to keep what they’ve got because it really doesn’t impact them much.
The Nevada supreme court is elected, and the state is purple.
We need the news Florio so keep going, we can squeeze the networks and the NFL if we have to, don’t you worry.
Sometimes it feels good to just sit down and crank.
Supreme Court won't touch the NFL case.
Florio became a Vikings fan because of the helmet - that's exactly how my brother became a fan back in the early 70's. Fast forward to high school & he was on the football team, where the mascot was the Vikings...different color scheme, but the same helmet design. Dream come true.
These contracts are getting ridiculous. Qbs shouldn't get 25% of cap or 1 receiver getting 15% its absurd
a greed I am happy to see teams sabotage themselves. I would like to see the minimum cap be lowered so that teams have the potential to pay players, eg - half the cap and still win. $50 million vs 2 million is a minimal gap in standard of play on the field. The coach has by far the most impact on games and gets 10% or less of some players.
It's almost as bad as when rookies were getting $60 million contracts before playing a down in the NFL. But how does the NFL fix this current issue? The players union won't give an inch.
@@andrew348 just set a % cap for any one player don't target any group but we all know it's the qbs
@@chrisculhane3777 - I don't like the idea of restricting an individuals income - No player would accept that idea and neither would the courts. If you give MORE choice by lowering the minimum TEAM cap to eg. 50%, Then sometimes a team will do very well spending half the money. There will be an incentive to spend more and an incentive to spend less, depending on circumstances. Maybe Jacksonville can can make a deep run in the playoffs spending $135 Million while the Giants and the Jets are last in their division spending $270 million. Individual player minimums remain. We would not see guys who couldn't even go deep in the ocean like Dak Presscot making more than Mahomes. Dak is asking for $55+ million. Tom Brady proved you don't need to be chiseled or elite athlete or run over people or cannon arm or the highest paid or even the smartest. You need to get the job done when it matters most any way you can. Even with deflated balls.
Over a period of time, teams will adjust and fluctuate their spending more in line with demand and supply. As it should be.
Now the market is grossly distorted because all teams must pay a minimum 89% of the salary cap... Even Carolina!!!
Chuck Foreman reference!! The original Hurricane from the U! Way before my time, but Chuck was way ahead of his time. What a receiving threat he was coming out of the backfield.
The problem is with a majority of the teams, and soon to be all of the teams. That they are allocating too much money to certain positions, which them leaves them up against the cap and unable to pay other players. QB’s soon getting $60mm AAV, WR’s getting $30mm AAV, edge rushers in the $25mm AAV range, LT’s in the mid $20mm AAV range, CB’s to be in the $20mm AAV range soon. There wont be enough money for the rest of the players. How will the NFLPA handle that when ILB’s, OG’s, RB’s, DT’s, P’s, K’s, TE’s are making league minimum just to fit under the cap?
The cap going to keep pace with the escalating salaries and eventually someone will have to blink and refuse to pay these exorbitant salaries to slightly above average QB’s and dime a dozen WR’s. But then the NFLPA will cry collusion.
Welcome to the inevitable destruction of the NFL.
Florio if i need a lawyer im calling you
Is Peacock going to emerge with Paramount plus
I bought Sunday Ticket for decades, but dropped when it went to UA-cam (because of price), now I watch all of the games I want 10 minutes after they are over by paying for NFL+ (for 25% of the cost).
He said Lamb, Dak, AND Parsons but what about Diggs. Lamb isn't a Jefferson nor a Deebo. He is okay but not like them. An I am a die hard Cowboys fan. I am hoping the Wide out from Missouri shows up. He is faster and knows how to use his body to blocked out defenders to get the ball. An he tracks the ball like a hawk

#1 rule in the NFL… don’t sign contracts you aren’t willing to satisfy. That goes for players and coaches.
If I’m the dolphins I tell hill he’s not getting a new deal and it’s his last year in Miami. Waddle making that much money it’s time to be the number 1 guy
You're right about the NFL. I love the Niners and I live in Texas.
Micah can't afford to holdout to get paid a year early, and his position isn't any riskier than Lamb's. That's the only situation that makes sense at this point in Dallas
Put those guns away Mike 💪💪
Even though it’s still published by EA college football, Mike madden two years behind in development for they won the game today college football
NFL Sunday Ticket should be priced at a premium for its consumers.

20 nfl games! That's a different sport, like having a relief quarterback. 16 was a lot, the last month and a half was redundant same teams winning.
In 1997, we had a public vote on a new stadium for the Seattle Seahawks. It narrowly passed. I would say that the arrangement worked out great. Maybe other cities can look at Seattle for a successful model.
Teams are worth so much more (including inflation adjustments) that the dynamic is not the same anymore. Someone worth 100 million dollars asking for 100 million to build a stadium is different than someone worth 10 billion asking for 2 billion to build a new stadium. It just is. The dollar amounts are so much higher and the income of the owners is so much more as well.
He runs the hell out of his mouth. Lawyer mouth 😂. This man is spitting some truth and doesn't care much 😂
Florio needs better PA's so he can have correct talking points
Forget about companies. I'll take a supreme court that's pro individual over government agencies.
The correct outcome on Gruden. Whatever judicial inconsistencies that can be argued, all of what Gruden stands for relating to human relations is wrong.
Cowboys never used to have issues paying their top players. They've made some strange decisions lately. Personally I think it's Stephen Jones over correcting for Jerry.
I think it's them being realistic in not bringing the same group back that couldn't get the job done.
Florio on legal topics is first rate.
On football opinion: meh.
you lie around, or you lay SOMETHING around. Remember, as I lay my head to sleep... the difference between a transitive and an intransitive verb. I hope this helps :)

If Florio were to have a law/political show I would watch in a heartbeat. Probably won't agree with some things he has to say, but at least I know he will honest and reasonable.
Cowboys need to tell Dak to play out his contract and earn his next deal. 2-7 in the playoffs is not elite. It's solid mid-pack. Cowboys can do better.
Dudes the best by far. It’s not even close
Precedent isn't always everything/sacred in the Supreme Court. Example is that the decision from Plessy v Ferguson was overturned partially by Brown v Board of Education. Plessy had ruled that segregation laws were not unconstitutional because they were "separate but equal". That ruling was overturned by the Brown case which ended segregation in schools.
Another example where precedent was overruled was in SFFA v Harvard/SFFA v UNC overturning California v Bakke with regards to affirmative action for student admission in colleges.
All to say that yes precedent may be evaluated and looked at, but it's not iron clad in federal jurisprudence.
I'm thinking odds are Florio only cares about precedent when it benefits his personal political opinions or something that would be financially worth it to him with PFT.
You dont beat a billionaire in court
Why would some guy kill himself by putting a lit firework on his head?
He's literally ASKING to be fired. Wealthy or not, I don't understand that.
@@ArthurLindseyIII
Mike is asking to be fired? You don't understand that?
I appreciate that some people, like Florio, are passionate and advocate/fight to be on the right side of history, and that he, like many people, SELFLESSLY heed a calling to speak truth to power. Mike's brand of Town Hall bravery has been replaced with a "me first!" mentality, and decent models of manhood have been replaced with faux, toxic facades of masculinity.
Asking tough questions/asking for fairness should not be grounds for being fired. If you're working right now and are part of a union (maybe you aren't, that's fine), or if you get old or to a point that you can't advocate for yourself anymore, or if you vote, you should hope those in charge of you aren't too scared or indifferent to ask the tough questions or else you'll just be helpless and languishing, hopefully content with the realization that whomever didn't speak up for you/abandoned you, was only doing what you would have done for your own good if the roles were reversed (extrapolating from what you wrote).
Better yet, and lastly, imagine someone you cared about encountered a major problem while in a foreign country, or in a hospital, in jail, or some other place where they felt vulnerable. Would you want Jim Trotter to write about how your loved one's case is being unjustly handled, or should Jim Trotter do what he should have done to not get fired from the NFL, which was to sit down, shut up and write about how turf fields are almost universally loved by all players because turf is unquestionably superior to grass?
It's too easy to sit back, shut up and collect a check. The people who have a calling to make the world a better place, no matter how incrementally, willfully and altruistically lack the impulse control to keep quiet in the face of injustice.
That's my annoying two cents, anyway lol.
At least he owns it
PRESSCOTS not worth 55 cents. Let alone 55 million stop paying these divas. The money that you pay them jesus christ
Florio gave a great analysis. He failed to mention that the free over the air games may be free to the consumer, but networks paid a premium for televisions right to the NFL. At one point, networks blacked out home games in local networks if home game was not sold out.
NFL looks worse as they recently auctioning off games to streaming services to broadcast exclusively, inclusing playoff games. Their justification as to Thursday was games was somehting like... we need a break, Amazon will do a better job. We are looking out for the consumer.
The commissioner and Jerry Jones testified about the collusion. The NFL made a fortune off the collusion and would best be served to correct the issue and move forward. A jury found the NFL frauded the American public. God bless America. Have a safe and happy 4th of July.
Florio, do better. Republicans are not pro-business in the sense you are speaking about. Overturning Chevron was a prime example of checking an unelected bureaucracy that's was given board powers to interpret the law.
"A government agency must conform to any clear legislative statements when interpreting and applying a law, but courts will give the agency deference in ambiguous situations as long as its interpretation is reasonable." Chevron U.S.A., Inc. v. NRDC, 467 U.S. 837 (1984).
Who do the agencies themselves get to determine what is reasonable? Judges rule what is law, not what the EPA (for example) thinks is in their purview. That is Congress's job.
Florio likes to portray it as if Democrat appointed judges are for personal freedom. When its really Democrat appointed judges are for government interests. If say, someone happens to defend themselves with a gun or doesn't want to get an experimental vaccine then personal freedoms go out the window. And there's no greater case of big guy versus little guy than government agencies vs. the individual.
Holy god dude, it sounds like you are saying the Jury are allowed to decide whatever way they please and the law be damned. And you seem exilerated about it. Why is that a thing and why is it somehow also a good thing when we have these laws to protect our individual rights?
The primary takeaway from this episode is that the law doesn't matter. The constitution doesn't matter. All that matters is the personal opinions of the jury members or judges. If that's the case then there's no point in any of us listening to a lawyer like Florio go on for hours about cases because none of that actually matters according to him.
People are so obsessed with the Cowboys except us...the actual Cowboys fans...we enjoy our team....they drive the rest of you crazy....relax...
That is mostly right. The media are the real fanatics. Driving the haters and hyping everything. Look what they do to Rodgers every year. It is embarrassing but they won't ever stop while the money rolls in.
I say let them all walk....I am a Cowboys fan....why have a 5th year option and franchise tag if players dont abide by this system...I think the Cowboys are smart....great acquisition getting Lance for a 4th...We as Cowboys fans are ok with Dak walking and others...so relax...Nobody beating Mahommes anyway...so there....enjoy the winning seasons like we do man
You better chill on that "we" nonsense. I'd rather have a shot than repeated 5-6 win seasons with someone like Trey Lance who cannot play
@andredamato - I agree totally. Dak is good at some things... courageous, tough, good game management and scrimmage control. he has some major weaknesses... slow release and slow movement, unable to adjust after snap, below average accuracy and timing. Mentally fragile at times. No team needs a $50 million QB. Dak would get 25 tops from me. Ceedee is the shining light on offense and the standout best player on the roster. Parsons is very good but not worth top dollar. I would be happy to play Cooper Rush. He is proof you can win most games with an 'average at best' QB..... hmmm so is Dak!
@warpeace8891 If Ceedee is the Best player on the team , who gets the Ball to him 😆 ,Dak made lamb, I like Cooper super duper rush, but Jerry leased him twice ,31 other teams said thanks but no thanks, one more thing on lamb ,stop checking out in the post-season he let Alexander bully him ,Be like T-O show up in the Big games
@@JFKMLK - Any starting QB can get Ceedee the ball. If Ceedee Lamb has Tua throwing to him or Burrow or Rodgers he would be the clear No. 1 in the league. I actually watch the games and not just highlights.
Look at how many times Dak cannot throw to where the play is designed to go. receivers are mostly reaching back or down. He is one of the least accurate starters. Play design improved dramatically last year and was simplified for Dak. Watch what happens when he goes to another team, he will look lost just like he does in the playoffs.
Dak will not sign with Dallas. Jerry had figured this out, and is now in the process of trying to drop his value in free agency. Jerry is a bitter, bitter bigot, and it pisses him off that he can't tell Dak what to do.
If I was Dak, I would consider sitting out the season. What he shouldn't do is play just long enough to get them in contention, AND THEN sit out.
He is under contract - there is no "sitting out" option available to Dak. I have no issues saying goodbye to any player that demands more than I want to pay. Dak at $50 million plus is embarrassing. I would say 20- 25 million is about right, otherwise cya.
@@warpeace8891 The biggest problem with the fanbase is that there are fans that actually think Dak is the guy and that he should be paid like Mahomes. The Cowboys know he's not the guy. His teammates know it. A large section of the fanbase know it too. The only holdouts are the media and his fanboys. smh
@@PGO_Gaming - Fair points. Thanks for your insights. What do you think about the coach?
I gave McCarthy plenty of stick in his first two years at Dallas but Last year he was much improved. Still has major weakness like the clock mismanagement and play calling doesn't fit the situation on many occasions on offense.
I have to give him credit for making this team look like they are on the same page in all facets. He seems to have his coaching staff improving and his communication with the public and even play designs are a little better. Not sure exactly who is doing what behind the scenes but the head coach has the hardest job in football. They rarely get the credit and always get the blame while being paid below the player average in many cases. To me the coach has by far the biggest influence on games and McCarthy is trending in the right direction.
The real question to ask Florio is how much money does he spend on MUT packs every year. lol. Is he one of the whales that helps EA make billions of Ultimate Team across its sports titles every year.
No NFL player is worth $100M.
Teams need to start drafting qb even when they have a dak prescot or a kurt cousins and develope them and hope they can get a cheap qb or use as leverage for there starter
Must suck to be a fan of any other team but the Hawks 🦅
If Ceedee Lamb has Tua throwing to him or Burrow or Rodgers he would be the clear No. 1 in the league. Prescott is decent but massively overrated. Prescott is below average in good coverage. Not as accurate and definitely slower than average. Cowboys Tight ends are not great receivers The offense is well organised but poorly disciplined. Too many average players that make too many mistakes. Their defense is very talented except through the middle. Any team can run through them but middle to long passing is very risky against them.
Cowboys are the perfect example in all of sports that when things bounce their way they look unbeatable but against adversity they crumble like cheap shortbread. Coaching has improved significantly each year since since McCarthy took over. He is in the bottom 5 of game managers but otherwise doing very well. A dedicated coach to manage clock, and situational play calling would dramatically improve this offense. Parsons will show EXACTLY what kind of player he is this season. I suspect he will not live up to the hype and previous years standards.
Shame that Dallas does not play against Dolphins this season - they have similarities that make them both measuring sticks for other teams. If you can't beat Dallas or Miami then you are not likely to go far this year.
If Jalen Hurts can stay healthy all season then Eagles should dominate the NFC. Hard to find weaknesses in this roster.
Superbowl prediction = Eagles vs REFS? I like the Ravens but last years AFC championship game ???? there is no explanation I can give that for that game that makes the NFL look good. As a neutral watching, it is disheartening to see a great sport so corrupted by whatever that was.
No way in hell I’m celebrating this pathetic monarchy of a country
Be honest without dak no the cowboys would never become a 0 an and 15 team and have a #1 draft pick like when they got troy aikman no they will stary a 400 or 500 team with having lamb and Parsons but they will never make the playoffs with dak Prescott again ever!!!

If ruth bader ginsberg had stepped aside we wouldnt have a 6 to 3 majority it would be 5 to 4 if the Republicans werent so currupt we would have a 5 to 4 democratic majority if she stepped down
Democrats can look in the mirror for the current makeup of the Supreme Court which came in large part due to arrogance and an assumption that their party would forever hold the Presidency and the Senate. Decisions like Harry Reid invoking the nuclear option, Ginsburg refusing to retire for six years of Obama's presidency and making the extremely unlikable Hillary Clinton the 2016 nominee led to this.
A Republican Senate refusing to vote on Garland is political for sure, but not corrupt. The Republicans held the Senate at the time. Obama was a lame duck President. Even if they went forward with it, he wasn't getting a majority of the votes. So they didn't bother wasting time on it.
