@dlight9849 I agree. And they very well have a right to be so! I have always waited for nature to finally fight back, can´t say I am very unhappy to see this happening. Humans think they own the world and would have a right to kill every other creature as they please. But the other creatures were here well before humans even evolved! They have much more right to be on this planet, than we have! It´s about time humans learn that lesson!

They can weigh 10 tons and still jump 15 feet out of the water. Even sharks and whales are afraid of them. With that weight, speed and strength if they decide to gang up on a ship it won’t take much to destroy one.

In the 1977 film Orca, the whale causes a bunch of damage in the cove where the fisherman that killed his mate lives. The whale taunts him and the villagers until he is forced to leave and face the whale's wrath at sea. Orcas are monogamous. They mate for life. They have long memories and their brains are much larger than ours. Their intelligence may easily surpass our own. They can communicate millions of pieces of information through sound in seconds to one another over hundreds of miles. They are very protective and territorial and will stay in an area where trauma has been caused for long periods of time until it's reconciled. Many coastal tribes have legends about the orca and how it has a vengeful warrior spirit. They are an apex predator being one of the, if not the most powerful animals on Earth. Not to mention, they have the patience of a saint. They may stalk their prey for days to weeks. @ELcinegatto87 Рік тому

Completely agree. When this group starts killing people and sinking lots of small boats like sailing vessels or pleasure craft they will be actively hunted and put down. Just like when a panther or coyote kills a human venturing in a neighborhood, the animal responsible is tracked and put down to prevent learned behavior from spreading. The same was done with "rogue" sharks where a specific individual acquired a taste for human flesh or more likely learned how easy people were to hunt. Although the latter was troublesome for sharks as short of cutting open the stomach there was no way to verify human predation. Many thousands of sharks were hunted during unhinged hunts especially during the 60s, 70s and early 80s until government stepped in. Orcas are heavily protected though and you also have animal lobbies that'll defend them even if they kill 20 people completely unprovoked. Worst case would be frustration among people and victims' families fueling vigilante hunts due to non-action from authorities. Precarious situation indeed.

And every day we kill them and eat them. And every day we go into their territories whether it’s the ocean or forest. More animals need to rebel against us. Humans need to know they are not the only beings on this earth and that we are not the superior beings at the top even though we act like it. We are all equal, human and every other species no matter how big or small or no matter the diet. We are all equal and it’s high time all these animals get their revenge.

Been happening in that region for years now. It’s 2 pods (family groups). Most likely someone hurt/killed a baby at one point, and now the hatred of boats/humans are being passed from generation to generation. Nobody knows for sure, but that’s been the assumption for years.
It’s definitely NOT a new thing.
Whales are as intelligent as us (if not more) so it stands to reason that revenge can be felt and hatred can be taught.
One thing though, killer whales are known to scratch themselves on the bottom of hauls. This wasn’t the case, as these pods have been attacking boats for years, but in other waters what may feel like a large ramming attack may be them just scratching their bellies. So as long as your not in these particular waters off of Spain, don’t freak out.
Best to just stay away from them and let them be…let them have their waters.

I am reading a book on Stanford machine learning experts trying to decipher whale language, and so far they believe it is more complex than most of our languages. And that the first thing they will be asked once they can communicate is for whale rights, similar to human rights. Whales in general have emotional centres 4x larger than humans proportionally. So seemingly have a lot more compassion, empathy and patience than us. However, after hundreds of years of us destroying their homes maybe they are trying a new method to communicate.

He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer. When He opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature saying, “Come and see.” Another horse, fiery red, went out. And it was granted to the one who sat on it to take peace from the earth, and that people should kill one another; and there was given to him a great sword. When He opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a black horse, and he who sat on it had a pair of scales in his hand. And I heard a voice in the midst of the four living creatures saying, “A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius; and do not harm the oil and the wine.” When He opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature saying, “Come and see.” So I looked, and behold, a pale horse. And the name of him who sat on it was Death, and Hades followed with him. And power was given to them over a fourth of the earth, to kill with sword, with hunger, with death, and by the beasts of the earth."

@mohimbrood5787 wikipedia isn't a source. Lol I'm a historical researcher and use wikipedia as a start off point for sources. You know, the little writing at the bottom to confirm the writers are using primary or secondary sources.

I hope some people don't use this as an excuse to go after them. They have been through a lot because of humans already. Capture, loss of food and injury from boats.
