Russels Computer is not reference to DVD tho, old windows had custom screensavers, one of which was where you could enter any text and it was flying on screen. Russel has no imagination so he did lamest thing there - just put his name on it.
The screensaver on the computer screen isn’t a reference to DVD’s it’s a reference to actual computer screen savers from the 90’s. Can't wait to see "professional pianist plays the piano on Half Life Alyx"
I tried to play New Born by Muse on it when I got to that scene but the finger tracking just isn't advanced enough to really play much more than chopsticks.
I like how the song gets good when it hits the corner at 3:40
7:53 and then this book hit the roof and then the citizen head. After that metropolice wanted to check what is this book and then he realized that this is book that says everything about teleportation technology which combine is still working on. And finally he sended this to the combines and now they got teleportation technology because alyx thrown a book
0451 is also a reference to a lock in firewatch and a reference to the book Fahrenheit 451
The ants are taking over and its been a code used on locks since system shock 1 appearing in dishonored, hitman, and really just more games than any one man could remember or notice in a lifetime
Wow, this game looks amazing! I wish it wasn't VR exclusive.. Great video as always, keep it up!
Its awesome, someone will make a mod soon to play without VR
xGarbett That’s a really bad thing for Vr though. I really hope people understand that.
@@funnydude447 yeah ik, it was a fucking blast
@@xGarbett And they will say that it sucked, that they don't understand what all the hype is about, and they will be right, because they didn't experience it in VR...
well this game has to be playd in VR. i would let you play if you lived closed
Fucking scary to know that Gman audio has been broadcasting for at least 7 years to only cut out once Gordon Freeman hears it. Reminder that backwards the Overwatch voice says "All dead. Gordon. All dead. Dead.".
At the end of the game when eli vance wakes gordon up if you look to your left you should be able to see g-man
i should've known better not to look at the comments for spoilers..
42ndMoose what were you expecting on a video of this nature. You did it to yourself
Great video. That dvd logo corner bounce was amazing
The Gnome achievement works with the bottle opener, too. Also, you can find G-man in the final scene with Gordon Freeman.
There is also a drawing of the metro police combine holding a stun-stick among the innocent childrens’ drawings of animals in the zoo bulletin board. Right when I saw the bulletin board I immediately started looking for Easter eggs bc I knew valve would do something like that
I find the zoo really interesting because it seemed to be in operation for quite a few years under combine rule, until the QZ became the QZ due to the xen infestation (that likely killed all staff and animals we see)
“You can play the piano”
Now people with VR headsets, this game and piano talent will use that knowledge
I'm genuinely excited to see someone do it
4:20 what's funny about that grafitti is that Portal and Half Life are in the same universe, so somebody must of been in Aperture Science, saw one of those turrets, escaped alive, and made that graffiti art. Maybe it was Chell, or maybe someone else.
I have a couple I haven't seen mentioned anywhere that I and a few egg hunters spent the day trying to solve. One we will be likely posting to Reddit here soon, but we aren't completely certain we have completed it to its full extent yet. We have another that we could certainly use some help with. DM if you would like to help
So? Any news?
11:04 that's some nice handwriting
Even in a vr game
You missed one where they find an advisor in a train, I think it's an advisor anyway
It is
Baby Advisors
@@auangauthentication958 breengrubs haha
yeah it's a couple of advisors but it's def not an easter egg lol. Alyx points it out and Russell says he has no idea what that is
@@mike7DILFLUVR I mean it isn't stated out loud what they are so it makes the player look at them but they player can connect the dots if they know what it is themselves
6:09 Never thought seeing a giant red X over North America would make me feel uneasy.
so tf2 is not dead because of the easter egg in half life alyx, then the heavy update will come
we may not be able to change fate
but we can always pray
I mean shit this game made me hopeful for half life 3, so maybe another seemingly impossible thing can happen
All the figure are scouts , so Scout Update confirmed ...
4:05 apparently russels is referenced in the games files as lazlo so maybe he was originally named that
Ariss MAAAN THAT WOULDA BEEN WAY COOLER
You can also bring the gnome magnet to the end of the game for the achievement btw!
There's a silhouette of the Gman as a Vortigaunt "cave drawing," above some pipes somewhere near where you start seeing all the glowing Vortigaunt glyphs everywhere IIRC
You can wear traffic cones like a hat, too.
And buckets
@@andresiniguez3752 soldier would be proud if he was here
Aw man, that soundtrack is so emotional for me, it's the one on the end credits and I love it.
i usually hate when people ask to subscribe but since you spent all this time finding these easter eggs ill sub to you, thank you man
I found one myself. If you look on the side of the bin seen at 4:17 on the left, there's graffiti drawn with some black marker spelling the word 'SCOUT'. I guess Scout TF2 is now canon in the Half Life universe, lol
The half life Alyx soundtrack is really awesome
That audio sync with the screensaver hitting the corner
10/10
is no one gonna talk how he has 130 resin 8:22
Cheeki sv_cheats 1 maybe
At 8:37, 0451 is a reference to the book fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. Since then it has been referenced by many game developers, notably bioshock, prey, and the deus ex games.
5:19 song name?
Sarude - Dandstorm
He isn’t playing anything he’s just pressing random keys
(god I hope I’m not being whooooshed)
"Do it or Half Life 3 will never release" you win this time.
This proves allot of things honestly, like portal in the same half life universe and possible the Left for Dead Green Flu perhaps existed once in the universe
Green Flu is Xen Coronovirus
Portal was already proven to be in the same universe, with the Lost Aperture Ship in HL2
it's old news that Portal and Half life are in the same universe, it's confirmed in ep2. but the green flu in half life..
I'm happy to see portal being referenced :)
I was never a die hard fan for Valve or the games they created, but this game is a mind changing masterpiece.
Actually it 0451 isn't from deus ex but was made by looking glass and appeared first in System Shock 1, not Deus Ex. Obviously System Shock is a big inspiration for the whole half-life series.
Compilation boi!
7:57 thank you for finally moving the goddamn mouse
You forgot you can wear a traffic cone on your head.
Gmod?
At 8:27 , the barcode at the back of the book says 051111407592, it scans for a "3M Imation 1.40 MB 2HD 3.5 Floppy Disks 10-Pack" when searching for the barcode.
Or, long shot, if you happen to miss the 0 at the beginning it refers to a "Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck - New York - Show 2" (2010) album.
But are probably a coincidence but how knows.
Minute 8:00 this looks like the quran ...
Holy shit. Thats why my siblings say there is a quran there.
9:07 the webpage of that newspaper is theterminal.online, if you go right now to that page, it says that the page is being worked on, and advises to check back later
11:22 ok then.
One of the the flashlight areas where zen mold is growing, you can find a body laying against the wall with mold spreading across the walls. Just like in The Last Of Us.
Man that credits song is so sad.
0:36 if you look at the top middle left/right you can see a black and white cat similar to the missing cat. Maybe she already found it.
Wait WAIT City 17 is located on Eastern Europe????? How is that possible? In Half Life 2 you go from City 17 to "Black Mesa East" and the facility was located in New Mexico what am i missing here?????
Raziel it stands for black meaa east europe. Black mesa was an international company remember
@@mitchellgarcia9534 oh shit my bad then, i thought it was the eastern side of the black mesa research facility.
@@mitchellgarcia9534 I agree that east probably stands for Eastern Europe here but it is not clear that Black Mesa was an international company. I am almost certain that Black Mesa East was not a real branch of the original Black Mesa but it is a resistance laboratory build into an abandoned facility that is named Black Mesa East in reference to the original Black Mesa. When you arrive, Eli Vance says "It's not Black Mesa but it served us well enough." and Judith Mossman responds something like "It will be a lot more like Black Mesa with Gordon Freeman around."
Wow what the hell man? You did really play all Half Life 2 games and thought you are in New Mexico? Wow, just wow.
Russels Computer is not reference to DVD tho, old windows had custom screensavers, one of which was where you could enter any text and it was flying on screen. Russel has no imagination so he did lamest thing there - just put his name on it.
Dammit. This is a masterpiece of the graphics and environment interaction :')
8:36 0451 was first used in System Shock 1. The number is a reference to the book Ferenheight 451.
VALVe: Make Half Life 2 and never do Half Life 3.

The screensaver on the computer screen isn’t a reference to DVD’s it’s a reference to actual computer screen savers from the 90’s. The color monitors were still pretty finicky back then and could become subject to ghost images. It’s when the same image stays on screen for a very long time and becomes “burnt” into the screen. Look up Flying Toasters for the pinnacle of screen savers.
I think the tiger mask is a play on one of the Hotline Miami characters, who wore a cheetah mask, or maybe just a cool mask.
@ 1:40 you can carry either gnome, i didn't realise there was the full size one in the couch, so i took the bottle opener, got the achievement.
4:50 I like to think g mans theme is the ambience of his "dimension" interfering with radio waves
