Not sure what is your intention, Akshat. This has always been the case. At least a higher % of our tax money is going for actual development. Else 75-90 would go into the pockets of politicians and such. The tax base is also increasing rapidly. And most of all India is rapidly building up. Can that happen without money?

    1. They get 50% subsidy from govt for "ROT and RUT work" (cleaning, moving, repair etc)
    2. If you are sick for a long time and can't go to your work, the govt will pay you 80% of your salary
    3. You can take leaves if your child is sick (VAB) and the govt pays your salary for that day

Education is free, but cannot be compared with Indian education.
      - It starts slow, but smart.
      - There is no grading based on memory test. Grading is based on reasoning, logical and analytical power right from early stages
      - May be good or bad, one might not be able to withstand the competition outside.
      Medical facilities:
      - Yes, it is free. But 80% of the day-to-day medical incidents are left to heal naturally. Its normal for someone in Sweden to be sick for a week and still don't visit any doctor/hospital. No medicine if it is not a life-threatening issue.
Pension (one topic which was not covered in the video)
      - Average retirement age is 68 (gets revised often)
      - 30% (approx) of the taxes paid were saved towards Pension.

There is a provision in Tax returns, where if we invest certain amount of money in political parties, then we can avail concession for it. This is itself promoting corruption and that too in legal form. There is no doubt why people who get chance to leave the citizenship of India , are doing so and taking citizenship of other countries.

Thank you so much Akshat for bringing this up.
Here is my personal perspective and firsthand experience on the matter.
    1. Despite earning over 30 lacs per annum, middle-class individuals in metro cities struggle with the rising cost of living.
    2. Limited access to affordable housing hinders middle-class individuals from purchasing their own homes, even with a higher income.
    3. Higher tax burdens impact the disposable income of those earning above 30 lacs per annum in the middle class.
    4. Challenging loan requirements make it difficult for middle-class individuals to finance significant expenses like buying a car or pursuing higher education.
    5. Financial instability and uncertainty persist for middle-class individuals, hindering their ability to achieve long-term goals and financial independence.

Its very painfull to experience after having paid so much taxes, we don't get anything in return. No health benefits, extremely costly education for children, lack of quality infrastructure, ever ongoing civil works, corruption everywhere in the government be it any govt for that matter. We earn so hard and govt sucks the tax out of us and in turn everything is eaten away in corruption. There is no accountability by any govt whatsoever. Indirect tax in the name of gst is another day light robbery. While export of services is still not taxable for companies and huge tax benefit is given to corporates ever since beginning, common man is made to pay GST on everything they buy. What kind of tax terrorism is this?..
Salaried class is just blood sucked in every way. While corporates can claim all expenses in the course of business, a salaried class person has to pay tax first and then spend. What an unreasonable way to suck the salaried class. Slowly the govt is pushing everyone towards new tax regime, so that even the least available peanut deductions like 80c etc will not be claimed. Once after everyone moves into new tax regime, then the govt will increase the tax slabs..
Another biggest curse of this country is the population. There are tons of masses out there who pay no tax and the govt doesn't distinguish them and only a limited set of people are made to pay for everyone. Nothing will change infact it will become more worse in the years to come. It's better to move out of this country if you get a chance!

Human Capital Index in India is 0.49 compared to 0.8 in Sweden, Agriculture constitute 20 % of Indian GDP, manufacturing is only 27 % . Can you also please do a video on how much money is being spent on the large number of govt employees and what the tax payer gets in return? I understand it is a complex topic but I trust your research skills to handle it well.
for example: why should a non technical and inexperienced person be hired at great expense to lord over various departments simply because they cleared one exam?
Why not hire an experienced professional on contract basis, with relevant training and education to lead individual projects instead?
On the other hand, why employ construction labour on contract? why not just hire such labour permanently and use them on the numerous projects that the government runs all the time? with time, such labour would gain expertise and also they can be provided with appropriate equipment and insurance covers for carrying out their job if they are permanent employees.

This is a big big big issue for a long time now. The middle class gets very less or close to no benefits for the taxes paid. But I am 100% sure there is no going back from here. Things will only worsen with the same analogy of 'what aboutry race' between parties. This is the truth and must be accepted. People are way more powerful out there. Thanks to the internet, a single voice, or even the collective voice can be stopped easily. A way to get out of it is to stop thinking about what most of the middle class is doing right now. If the politicians wanted, they could have done many things collectively like giving up at least some of the perquisites. The bureaucrats too. Or making the agricultural land taxable if not giving up the perks. Also, people ask for government jobs, and they die for them, but they don't try to make things better, those same things that they read during preparations and got selected, then become a part of the same thing. So in the end, these topics only create a small anger inside people's minds for a small time. As they can't tackle these, they stay connected to their families, gods, jobs, or patriotism as these things give them satisfaction or fulfillment. It's only about 70 years of the lifetime of silence. Where we are right now with our morality, nothing can be undone, nor it can be fixed. It has to happen, it will happen, it can't be stopped.

Although your point of investment of 3000 crores vs return of investment is valid only in the frame of financial analysis, you could have found a better example. Like building statues of elephants, all over etc, which was to fulfill a political agenda only.
The Statue of unity is not only for the purpose of tourism. It is to recognise and remember the unsung hero of India who actually United India again. Even if there is zero revenue, that is perfectly ok. The main purpose here is different. Revenue is add-on.
There is another important hidden point associated. We as middle class, only focus on us as individuals. Here we are discussing our finances as individuals. We forget to teach our kids our culture, nationality, and social values. If you understand the value of education, this is one great way of educating people towards national awareness. For such causes every tax payer will feel good to contribute.
Try to differentiate between a political agenda vs national agenda, and empower your kids also to do that. Find and quote other instances where governments kept wasting money for more than 60 years, and could not build any system to benefit tax payers. Government education system, govt healthcare system etc take time to build up. But our middle class guys are into social pressure of status show offs as well.
Current govt did not prioritise building all these benefits, as by now, there were alternate options already available. So they started focusing towards other higher priority things.
But yes, now the tax payers should wake up. They are the worst voters, and least educated towards their own welfare.
Also saying that GST is more complex and confusing, then it puts your viewers into doubt about you. The earlier tax structure was hell.
Looks like this is a paid video to run political propaganda.

While he tries his best to sound Apolitical, the ‘Statue of Unity’ example that he has picked reflects his mindset. He is talking about 3000 crores,Instead,he could have rather picked ‘freebies’ as example.Just as recent,in Karnataka election, the elected party had promised lots of freebies to the public which will eventually cost more than 61000 crores!Thats the prime example of taxpayer’s money insane amount being wasted on non productivity.

As per government data on 5% of total indian population are paying income tax. That means only 5% of total population are taking the burden of rest 95% population. These 95% population are enjoying government benefits and 5% hard working population are getting nothing

Pre GST, taxation was 1000 times more complicated.. different rates at different places for same goods.. now it's simplified.. u say u want 15-20%.. so food items, essential items will be much costlier burdening the middle class more. Different slabs is a common sense. Now it's simplified, transparent - earlier there use to be no mention.. now clear mention of how much the tax for what item.. cgst, SGST..

Paying tax in India is simple charity, but the sad this there a lot of boggers in that charity and eating that charity amount too.. There are not even proper roads forget about hospitals. I almost broke my back because of the bumpy roads in bangalore. It is not even charity. here are too many buggers/rats eating away all the collected money too

In India govt doesn't have any other means of earning apart from taxes. PSU's were ruined so that they can be sold in cheap instead of making them profitable. If govt give ₹1 benefit to citizen's, it spends ₹2 for promotion. In foreign countries apart from election purpose it is seldom that PM or Presidents image hoardings can be seen anywhere...

Unfair comparison.... There is almost no need for middle class to do manual work. All domestic services are available at cheap rates. Same is not the case in scandinavian countries.I talked to some danish and swedish people and found that almost all of them have worked as mechanic or gardner or delivery boy or as a farm worker in their teens as there is a huge dearth for labour in such countries. They also do their domestic work on their own.

At least for the tax payers, there must be some subsidiary benefits from the Government. Right now we feel robbed, because we are giving our hard earned money, in return we get nothing, and again have to pay GST for everything.

The only way to save tax money is having a business.
What i have observed and experienced atleast in metro cities of Maharashtra that the government hospitals these days are very clean, hygienic and free with good doctors.
Agreed we don't get direct been of the tax we pay on our salaries but we at times are not aware of how coz there are many policies a d we don't utilize them since we feel its too much work.
I really hope God gives me some good brownie karma points for paying taxes loyally every year so that rest of India can benefit and run from it. The worst part and most hurtful fact is if u Google hardly 9 % Indian population is paying tax through ITR.
