My instructions call for using the rest of the Mylar to a spot on the tailgate, about half the strip to each spot. And mine didn't come with any threadlock, and didn't mention using it, but I used some anyway. Works great for my arthritic joints. Two thumbs up!
Thanks Greg. Looks pretty much exactly how I envisioned the install would go. Always nice to see something go together before you dive in yourself. Thanks for the video.
Just bought one for my 2018 sport f150. Watched 4 videos before seeing yours. Your the only one who used the lock tight 👍👍👍. Get the tripod out. Lol. Jk. Thx for the video 🇨🇦
@@KRTube75 Paint on nuts and bolts getting a lot of torque applied is always going to come off like that, and even moreso when the person uses an open end wrench which flexes and slips slightly on the nut or bolt. He should have used a socket, or at least the box end of the wrench, not the open end.
Any corrosion issues after almost 2 years? The "paper" holds a thin sheet of protectant to place between aluminum (truck) and the brackets (I'm thinking steel) to keep the dissimilar metals from touching each other.

Thanx a bunch! I just installed one on my 2018 f150 in about 20 min thanks to your video! Awesome!

Excellent Video. Thanks
Great video, btw. I’m going to install mine on my 2018 F150 right now. Thanks!
@10:32 where did those flakes of Oxford White paint come from?
Paper on the tailgate.
I was wondering the same thing. It's scary that the paint on the ford comes off in flakes like that.

Pirate Morgan would be interested to hear this as well
Any update on the tailgate assist? I heard earlier models for the '11-'14 models the ball would snap off after a lot of use.
Had it installed for 6 months. No problems yet. Works great.
Thanks for the update. Just ordered mine. I didn't think I was going to need one but after getting the Line-X installed, that sucker is HEAVY!!
Dude, get a socket set!! Great video nonetheless..
And a tripod.
