Joined as an apprentice for my father, in 2021, for Crimson Fire Protection, Local 669. Best year, of a working man, I've had my whole life, so far, and I'm 27. I'm 4th generation, of pipefitters, in my family. Great grandpa was the beginning of it all. What can I say, other than. It's just a family tradition.

I just journeyed out im 25 yrs old. I got in at 20 yrs old...im 2nd generation and I want to get out as soon as I can. Moneys good but it takes a toll on your body. Every day getting beat at work throwing up pipe gets very old. I question my career all the time. All these old timers just settle because the moneys decent, most are divorced & miserable, cant afford to leave because they spend every damn dollar they earn...Get in ..save that money & get out. Trust me u dont wanna be another old fitter thats been in for 30+ yrs only to retire all broken. Theres sooo many other ways to make good money.

Hello Abdiel. To get back in, I would suggest contacting the Local 669 business agent for the area that you live in. www.sprinklerfitters669.org/ They can tell you what you will need to do and the employment picture for your area. Good Luck!

All depends where you live. Down south they make pennies compared to what we make up north cause it’s all right to work. Cali, Phili and NJ might be the highest paid well into the mid $50s/hr.
