- New World No.4 Elena Rybakina won her second WTA 1000 title of the season by clinching the Internazionali BNL d'Italia title in Rome!
The No.7 seed got past Jasmine Paolini, Anna Kalinskaya, Marketa Vondrousova, Iga Swiatek and Jelena Ostapenko on her way to the final, where she was a set up before Anhelina Kalinina retired due to injury.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that 3 of her opponents had to retire due to injury. The way she plays the ball deep into the corners makes her opponents scramble and stretch more than they’re used to, hence causing themselves injuries. So nice to see Elena peak at the right time, just when the WTA game needed a more dominant force on tour🇰🇿🇰🇿🇰🇿
Finally, a perfect explanation. I salute you. The way Elena plays make her opponent’s ligament and ham strings pull. By the mid second set, her opponent feel that pain. She is wicked🤜
Look at how much Iga had to run to keep up. None of the other players make Iga scramble so much from side to side. Elena is truly a special one ❤

She imposes her game on her opponents. Also she starts slow and she doesn't move a lot during matches unless she has to. Her footwork is amazing.

Imagine Iga and Kalinina thinking in their respective matches - oh shz I still have to play another 1 or 2 sets on my mildly injured leg running from side to side with this dominant shot blaster just for a tiny slim chance to scrap a win? Pegula does not deserve that seat, she needs to win a Grand Slam. She will be out of there soon. New ones coming, Potapova, Kudermetova, Coco, they all are hot right now. Elena will take the seat by the end of this year.

Being a beautiful and gentle soul definitely pays ! It´s incredible how she never celebrates outloud, or grounts, or screams. It´s basic respect for the game and for the opponent. It´s the essence of tennis as a sport.
