I'd been to several of the large festivals back in the 1990's, but this was my first retreat. I loved each and every second of it. I appreciated the attendee zooms which made it feel like there were people I recognized as soon as I walked in the room, and that maybe they recognized me too (since I watch most of their flosstubes already and they may not know that we're besties lol). I loved the spirit of camaraderie, learning about one of my long time favorite designers and her creative process, and the joy of sharing a weekend focused on the art/craft/skill that we all love so much. I think the hotel that you chose is perfect because there are so many options for food and such within walking distance that renting a car was not necessary for those of us who arrived by air - that gave me more cash for raffles and vendor purchases. I think the size is perfect; it wasn't overwhelming and I feel like I got a chance to meet, chat with and admire the work of almost everyone at some point during the weekend. I came away with a world of inspiration and some new friends. Now I just need to be able to afford to retire so I can stitch all of my new "gotta stitch" projects!! 🪡👠
I have seen nothing but good things about the retreat! You both deserve all the credit for hosting such an amazing time for everyone! I am so excited to try again for next year! 🖤🖤🖤 and beautiful finish on the retreat piece by the way! 🤩🤩 Bakers Wife and the Dutchess are my favorite Mira’s as well! So excited to see your progress and I’m loving your fabric choice! 🤩
Great recap! You captured the essence of the retreat. This was my 5th retreat of the year and definitely the one with the most heart and feel-goodness! I think that came from the top (you and Amy) and just trickled down over us all. Thank you again!
I’m so glad you liked the needle case I got you. I only had three made. One for you. One for the needleberry stitcher and I put one in my notions exchange. I had been at a retreat that didn’t feel welcoming at all so I was nervous about walking into such a big room but everyone was so nice and I was welcomed to a table right away and made new best friends. I loved meeting Nora! And you! And Ali! And the needleberry stitcher. My favorite memory was just how you looked at all my pixies. I have stitchy friends who of course think they are pretty but to have someone who truly understands the work and time they take just made me feel so nice! It was such a great time. So worth the wait and savings. The thought of the trip got over a couple of rough patches at work last year. Not sure if I will be able to come in 2024 but thank you again for such an amazing time! And I love the cup size! The bag! Everything was so well planned and thought out! I wish we could and just hang and have coffee….❤

I am turning 50 next year and my plans so far are TRAVEL. I am doing Stitch North (since I'm in Canada it seemed the easiest), and then *hopefully* my life long bucket list trip to Europe with my mother for 14 days, but I want to do ALL the THINGS, all the retreats, all the boxes, all the STITCHY THINGS...

This was my first retreat and I only have good things to say about you and Amy and the way the retreat played out. All of your hard work, planning, and enthusiasm was very much appreciated. Gasp! The scarlet wizard was my HG, and I finally got it, but now I’m too intimidated to start it because it was so unobtainable for so long 😂😂 the candle halos and dragons are so good!
