I just finished it and I’m literally crying , I was thinking the same thing or him finding her great grand daughter and she looks like her and them ending up falling in love something like that

I thought in the end she'll become a human again, a human in future. It was a very sad ending
But it wasn't sad. She lived a whole life. Flew in a plane, fell in love, had kids. That's why new pictures showed up in the photo album.
