Eh, I think it actually works here. It establishes the characters as trying to hang on to optimism before their treacherous journey. One thing about this song that strikes to me as especially memorable (despite being catchy) is its optimism. This song is about these appliances looking at their oncoming journey like everything will be okay with a smile on their faces (except Kirby). ...and then their actual journey begins and things go to hell for them so fast that the movie takes almost a pessimistic turn.
I would say "It's A B Movie" is not a sad or dark song. in fact, the song is more horror-oriented and also comedy-oriented. The comedy part is more focused on the parody of horror icons, and the design of broken utensils, and for the occasional snippet of music.

Is it sad that everytime I hear this song , a flood of memories flood my mind and makes me remember being 3 years old in 1991 getting homesick while being at my babysitter's house while all the kids watched this movie in her den. I know that was long , but man the memories.
This song randomly popped into my head out of nowhere, and now hear I am. I’m pleasantly surprised to find a Disney song that still has comments in 2024.
Hi there. I do not work at Pixar. After Toaster I went to work at Industrial Light and Magic (LucasFilms, and at other studios and productions). Yes it's true, many of the Toaster crew went to Disney and Pixar (before it was part of Disney). Thank you for your question!
I just saw this movie last week for the very first time. I honestly never thought I would ever see this movie. I'm glad that one of my friends had convinced me to see it. I gotta say it's quite interesting. In a way, it reminds me of Homeward Bound and Follow That Bird. It involves adventure, exploring, and most importantly, teamwork. I give this a fair 8.5/10. I highly recommend this movie.
This is the best song in the movie, hands down! Lampy and Radio sound great together, with their harmonies (And I'd be satisfied just to be not denied...)
It's odd to see this have no comments, but there's a first for everything! Anyways, this song to me is the innocence of this movie. As it's the only really 'pure' original song from this movie, about being hopeful and looking forward to the path ahead. Other songs from this movie aren't like this, 'B-Movie' is a b-movie parody with this worlds equal to body horror, 'Worthless' is about the worthlessness and uselessness that comes with old age and being abandoned by the very world that brought you, and 'Cutting Edge'/'More-more-More' is about the new age and replacement. Which now in days is ironic but really fuels the song- the 'new' generation of then is now the old and worthless. And then there's this hopeful song about this group looking forward to the journey. It's wholesome, but also when you know what's to home a little sad. Hind-site does that.
I never understood what kind of blanket Blanky was... Man, so much memories here, I just always hid behind the kitchen doors waiting for my toaster or other appliances to come to life when I was little! :D
Kirby is the cynic (or the pragmatic one) of the group, so Lampy (the most easily annoyed/offended apart from Kirby) is bothered by Kirby's negativity in the song.
Huh....not sure why I noticed until many years later that only the devices that consume electricity are alive. It makes sense in explaining why the battery, chair, and the various other carpets & rugs are still inanimate.
My favorite song from this movie! (Along with "It's a B movie") But she is very wronged, as whenever I see something about the songs, they never mention "City of Light". I think this is due to the fact that it is the only light, upbeat song in the film (along with "Tutti Frutti", although "Cutting Edge" is neither sad nor dark), but many people in the comments of this video praise the song, in special, from our dear Thurl Ravenscroft (voice of Tony The Tiger) who makes me very happy, knowing that: despite not being talked about much, it is one of the most loved songs of "The Brave Little Toaster" Even so, I think the movie could have at least one more upbeat song.

I loved this movie when I was little!!
I'm reminded again of why this is one of my favourite movies.
OMG, I remember this movie by heart. We watched it SO much when I was little.
I loved Blankie and Lampie the best.
awesome children's movie!!! a classic living on after 20 plus years and going!!
I LOVE THIS MOIVE!! :)
This is an awesome song to listen to while traveling!
It's not cheesy. >:0
+Tiffany Adkins
Grilled cheese is cheesy :p

Hi there. I do not work at Pixar. After Toaster I went to work at Industrial Light and Magic (LucasFilms, and at other studios and productions). Yes it's true, many of the Toaster crew went to Disney and Pixar (before it was part of Disney). Thank you for your question!
I adore this movie when I was a kid. It had frightening parts, and nice parts, but over all, it was just awesome!
I saw this clip and ended up buying this movie on Amazon.....thanks youtube... my childhood lives on :)
This is like the only cute/innocent song in the entire movie.
Mabel Pines
Besides Tutti Frutti
aww.. I used to watch those movies ALL THE TIME when I was little, brings back memories!
decades later songs from this movie still play in me
This is the best song in the movie, hands down!
Lampy and Radio sound great together, with their harmonies (And I'd be satisfied just to be not denied...)
This is my fucking jam right here.
Wow this makes me feel old. I haven't watched this film in a VERY long time. Feels good to relive memories.
it's the kind of song you would hear while on Vacation or a Road Trip!
The song of my childhood!
Happy Birthday to this timeless classic.
This song reminds me of leaving my childhood home searching for a new life of living.
Save me cry. This is a cartoon of my childhood. I have it when it looked a thousand times.
I still love this movie
I never understood what kind of blanket Blanky was...
Man, so much memories here, I just always hid behind the kitchen doors waiting for my toaster or other appliances to come to life when I was little! :D
Kirby is the cynic (or the pragmatic one) of the group, so Lampy (the most easily annoyed/offended apart from Kirby) is bothered by Kirby's negativity in the song.
This was my favorite film ever as a kid. Thankyou.
Huh....not sure why I noticed until many years later that only the devices that consume electricity are alive. It makes sense in explaining why the battery, chair, and the various other carpets & rugs are still inanimate.
I have never fully seen this film, but this song is spectacular. I have already learned the chords by ear
My favorite song from this movie! (Along with "It's a B movie")
But she is very wronged, as whenever I see something about the songs, they never mention "City of Light".
I think this is due to the fact that it is the only light, upbeat song in the film (along with "Tutti Frutti", although "Cutting Edge" is neither sad nor dark), but many people in the comments of this video praise the song, in special, from our dear Thurl Ravenscroft (voice of Tony The Tiger) who makes me very happy, knowing that: despite not being talked about much, it is one of the most loved songs of "The Brave Little Toaster"
Even so, I think the movie could have at least one more upbeat song.
I just watched this movie! Love it! I would always watch it when I was really little.
Kirby cracks me up when everytime he sings Lampy looks at him funny like shut your trap
i was sooooooo obsessed with this movie when i was very young. i haven't seen it in like 15 years. i miss it.
I love ❤️ the Brave Little Toaster himself. Also I wish Air Conditioner could’ve went too
wow, talk about nostalgia. I almost had tears of joy when I heard this song. It was a good child's movie and I'll show it to my kids (if I have 'em)
I am 15 and i couldn't sleep last night bc i was trying to remember what it was called. I made me own quote for this show/movie and No one at my scholl understood it but you guys will "For the love of that toaster"
Me too and the songs too. I never get tired of now even as an adult.watched it last Nite!
