I saw an old video by Sabaton where a member (or maybe former member) of the 101st Airborne who went to see Sabaton asked them to play Screaming Eagles and they decided to play it even though it wasn't originally on the setlist.
Was at the Oslo concert. It was great! Don't know if you noticed, but in the end the lights went out and there should have been some pyro, but one of the Amaranthe singers hand't come down from where pyro was supposed to go off. Fortunately the technician in charge noticed or we would have had one crispy member of Amaranthe.
One of my favorite Sabaton songs is Saboteurs because my family is from Norway (and also because I read a book about it). When I read books about the topics of Sabaton songs, that always bumps them towards the top of my list of favorite songs.
Really deep dive, loved this one ( again ). Tommy's channel has some really awsome material and those disneyton versionsa of Sabaton songs are hilarious ! That karaoke was nice touch 😊 PS I was there, Wacken...
Watching this felt like stepping right back into the past! 82nd All The Way was the first video I saw of yours, and what got me into your channel. So glad I found that video! Been loving the content ever since! As for what you said at 11:06, I think that's definitely why Blood of Bannockburn is one of my favorites. I live in America but my ancestry is largely Scottish, and my ancestors would've still been in Scotland at that time so I've more than likely got ancestors that fought at that battle. That or they were busy stealing cows, as the clan my surname is associated with was apparently known for XD
Touchy being The King of Deep Dives for 50 minutes straight! 00:00 - Introduction and First time Reaction 09:46 - Sabaton History Reaction 26:43 - Amaranthe Cover MV Reaction 31:19 - Reaction to Sabaton feat. Amaranthe live in Oslo, Norway 36:13 - Reaction to Sabaton, live at Wacken, 2019 40:40 - Reaction to Tommy Johansson's DISNEYton version 44:56 - Outro + Karaoke bonus! I really hope you get to see Sabaton play 82nd All The Way live. I'd be surprise if they didn't perform it. Thanks yet again, Touchy!
Really loved this entire video all the way through, amazing as always, also really hoping that Sabaton plays 82nd when you go to see them as its always a great feeling when you hear a Sabaton song live that connects with you on such a personal level so I hope you get to have that experience as well!
in amaranthes cover video, the skinny gray haired guy with the glasses you see in the studio shots is the legendary producer jacob hansen, basically all metal bands strive to have him produce and mix their albums at some point, i think amaranthe has worked with him since their first album
I must say that it's not entirely the camera man doing what he wants. Most of Sabaton's shows from 2018-2020 were livestreamed. Cameraman or Dave(this nickname stuck for about 2 month until he revealed his name. Was fun seeing every stream start with "Hi Dave!") as I dubbed him when they were touring Canada & the northern US states, also does what the chat wants. For example, look at Joakim, show us the piro crew or go next to Hannes.
I always enjoy your deep dive videos, and I'm sooo glad that you included Amaranthe here as well. I have so many thoughts right now, but I'm not going to waste your time for too long 😅 Just a couple of words regarding Amaranthe: -they are considered a Swedish band, however bassist Johan and drummer Morten are from Denmark -Amaranthe had a couple of lineup changes (clean male and growling vocals), what you saw here is the most recent -Elize Ryd has been auditioning for Nightwish when they were looking for a replacement for Tarja. Elize was barely over 20 years old then, and apparently the only reason why she wasn't chosen -Nils Molin (the clean singer) has another band called Dynazty where he is the only singer and his full potential really shines (check out their song "Presence Of Mind", "Yours", "The Human Paradox" or "Advent"). It's almost criminal how good he is.... -Henrik Englung (the growler/screamer) is also known as GG6 and he made me like growling vocals because of his very clear accentuations. Unfortunately, he left Amaranthe just a little over a week ago. Some Amaranthe songs that you may want to check out are Helix, Hunger, GG6, Dream, Viral. That's the end of my long-ass comment 😅thanks for reading through it 🤘
You asked them to do 82nd All the Way live when they come to Tennessee. Last night I saw them at Graspop Metal Meeting and they did Race to the Sea, first time live even ( Joakim said they had been saving this one for us) and Resist and bite too. So I think it is safe to say they will perform this one for you guys.
The one vocalist you pointed out you liked the most in Amaranthe is Nils Molin, and he actually does lead his own band Dynazty, who are definitely worth checking out as well. I'd recommend "Advent" as an introduction to them, which is one of their recent singles for their upcoming album.
Its always awsome to hear music about things that you have a personal connection to. I did my conscription and later Homeguard service at Skånings company at skaraborgs regiment i skövde. And their battle ohnors go way back to the battle of Varberg 1565, So listening to the Carolus Rex album is in a way extra special because something i am connected to has real roots that goes all the way back to then. It feels kind of crazy when i think about it. Some trivia, the motto of the regiment is "arvet förpliktigar" wich roughly translates to "the legacy obliges" And the banner is a black and yellow shield cut at 45 degrees with a black and yellow lion with red claws and tounge, over the shield is a crown and under the shield is two gauntlets with crossing swords that goes behind the shield. Looks pretty rad.
Hello mr, I am sure I have a Sabaton song noone have requested. Its when Sabaton covering the song Twilight of the Thunder God by the Swedish viking metal band Amon Amarth.
Loved the deep dive, this is a great song. Sunce you did Tommy's cover, he just released a cover of The Show Must Go On by Queen and it is amazing (and I am a huge Queen fan) so a reaction on this would be great. Cool karaoke btw 😃
I was about to ask if you heard the Amaranthe cover of the song yet :P Great reaction as always! Yes Amaranthe is from Sweden. Thier clean vocals guy also sings for Dynazty if you want to hear more of him. The did the cover just before their tour since they toured with Sabaton and Apocalyptica on the Great Tour. I saw the Wacken 2019 show live (on streaming.. but it counts, right..) and I own the DVD :D
The lyric video calls York the most decorated American soldier of the Great War, but that's not actually true. Alvin York only received the Medal of Honor while other soldiers received the medal of honor as well as other awards (Silver Star, Distinguished Service Cross, etc.) , including 4 Marines who were technically awarded 2 medals of honor (One Marine Medal of Honor and one Navy), but for the same action. The most decorated would actually be (Not counting the marines who got medals of honor for the same action) Eddie Rickenbacker, who received the Medal of Honor and no less than 7 Distinguished Service Crosses.
These guys are amazing. They do songs about battles, wars, significant figures or places, even famous war vehicles, and they go back hundreds of years into the past for stories even. I love this band. The combination of music and a bit of history is amazing. Wish i had their songs when i was in school, I'd have shown alot more interest in history then XD My favorite songs are actually Bismarck, Red Baron, and Attack of the Dead Men
They actually made a mistake in the lyrics of the song saying he was assigned to 338th, when he was actually assigned to the 328th Regiment, but they always say 328th when they perform it live.
Liked your karaoke version😊. I would say you are more comfortable in baritone register than tenor? Awesome dipe dive and though being Swedish, my top 1 is winged hussars.
14:06 I believe the man on the right is Major Charles Whittlesey, the commander of the Lost Battalion they refer to in the video (And Sabaton has an amazing song about).
If you enjoyed Amaranthe they've got a lot of good songs in their discography. Their music is faster but they have 3 singers as you saw and they have a great range. Some of my favorites are Hunger, The Nexus, Digital World and their cover of Powerwolf's Army of the Night Tommy has a great voice, I'm always surprised.
Of the Sabaton songs you've reacted to but not done deep dives on, I think the ones that have the most interesting stories are the Last Battle and No Bullets Fly. I highly recommend you do the deep dives for those.
Brother, if you like Nils Molin's vocals from Amaranthe than you'd most likely enjoy his other band DYNAZTY or maybe the song he did with Ad Infinitum "Afterlife"
sorry it seem UA-cam deleted my comment but not sure which part was the reason so i will put both in different post and see which they took offence in. Touchy at 37:47 when you wonder if Tommy would get his chance for the nipple twist, I laughed so hard since you din’t réalise one tiny detail that would make rather hard to pull it off, that is the "armor" plate covering them.
This is not about the 82nd Airborn, this event was pre Airborn, it's Alvin C. York of the 82nd mechanized infantry. Just a bit of historical information.
@@TouchyReactions, i as well am from Tennessee, my dad's godfather was in the 82nd Airborn back around Vietnam. He was a leviathan of a man by the name James Patrick O'Dwyer fron Brooklyn. So I did some research into the 82nd Airborn history before I heard this song.
I love seeing pictures of him like at the end of his life towards the end of his life for his wearing like all his medals for like pictures and it literally looks like one of those like North Korean generals with other bullshit medals like that just you know like covers their chest except all of these are real
Too bad you didn't tack on the soundtrack version; basically it's an orchestra version with a choir vocalizing in the background during the chorus. Still fun though.
Personally, I like Amaranthes cover better than the original, probably because like you said, it's alot heavier than the original, not saying I dont like the original, I just prefer the cover. None of Amaranthes singers are their "main" singer, they are all pretty equal, Henrik, the growler has a couple of songs where hes the dominant one but overall, pretty even split. For me personally, Elize is my favourite of the three, so talented, such a nice person and let's face it, pretty darn cute aswell And as someone else here pointed out, Nils, the singer you said you liked the best, has his own band besides Amaranthe, Dynazty, insanely awesome power metal where he really shows off his insane vocal range and ability, seriously, one of THE best male singers I've ever heard bar none
second part: well his bandmate did ambush him during one of their concert and i will make easier for you here the link ua-cam.com/video/0RWaS01JD_g/v-deo.html enjoyed

They must have changed the matrix... ;) awesome look back to the very first Sabaton song you were introduced to👍
Think how much reacting to ONE song can bring?
It has been a privilege to be here with you for the ride. Excellent deepdive as always Touchy!

Hello mr, I am sure I have a Sabaton song noone have requested. Its when Sabaton covering the song Twilight of the Thunder God by the Swedish viking metal band Amon Amarth.
I had completely forgotten about that one despite it crossing my playlist every time

Thanks Marina. I love Queen too. "Show must go on" is one of my favorite songs.
Btw and to thnk that anonymous guy called Joakim was only to be a replacement singer and then get back on keyboard :D cheers from Sweden
It was meant to be...lol

There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man.

I think they meant he got medals from other countries too, and with them he became the most decorated soldier?

Tommy´s disneyfied versions are so haunted xD every time we watch the lion king or any other classic Disney movie, i expect see dead people😱🤭

Coming soon

Amaranthe is also from Sweden just like Sabaton. In fact they did this cover of the Sabaton song after they joined the same record label.
Nice
The Van Canto cover of Primo Victoria is pretty awesome. Definitely recommend checking it out eventually

Hey Tr can you do a deep dive on Union slopes by sabaton?
It's on my list. If the Patrons vote for it, I'll do it.
You should check out the channel "vlogging through history" (not to react to, just to watch in your spare time) he recently visited Hill 223
