her strategy of moving around really makes sense, in fact 5 out of her 6 winning votes came from the heroes... this is something Parvati lacked this season because she just stuck with the villains in the merge and she only got 3 votes, all from the villains, she thought the villains votes are enough for her to win... even though 5 of the nine jury members are all from the heroes... not too mention, a poor social game like in fans vs faves (it just happens the jury hates Amanda more)
Parvati wasn't expecting Sandra would be in the finals. Had it been Jerri instead she would have won. Plus, Parvati repeatedly warned Russell not to bring Sandra to the final because she knew the villains would vote Sandra. However since she didn't win the last immunity, if she was too forceful to Russell, she might pissess Russell and she might be voted off so she just let Russels make the decision. Russell was so dumb that he cannot see any threats from Sandra at all even though it is so clear that Sandra was gonna get a clean sweep from the heros. colby didn't do anything in season 20. He even didn't help Amanda, when she and Danielle are scrambling for the clue of hidden idol. so i cant say Colby was hero in the season. but when it comes to sandra, needless to say Russel was super awful villain. and she tried to get rid of him, and she made him be humiliated. and she used him to win in the FTC, and she succeeded to do it. so she was very heroic survivor.

Fuck the haters! It's not that Sandra didn't have a 'strategy' its that people don't LIKE her strategy bcuz its not entertaining and doesn't capture their attention. Ppl like Russell's 'strategy' bcuz its entertaining and grasps their attention more. It's crazy how people have this perception that in order to win Survivor you need to be a flashy player who made big moves and won challenges, but Sandra's actually very smart in avoiding the power struggle and adapting her ass off to get to the end. She masterfully played both sides without being wishy washy, she antagonised Russell and plotted against him and still was able to convince him she couldn't win, which either speaks to Russell's level of delusion or Sandra's persuasive skills (or both XD). Sandra never made one huge move that flipped the game on its head bcuz she was never really in danger of being voted out, and the one time when her name was written down she used an idol to negate the votes. I love the simplicity of Sandra's strategy, and she's proven that her simple strategy is the key to winning Survivor (and don't take a piss on luck cuz thats something no one can control, every winner has had a lot of luck on their side FYI). I honestly thought Parvati would walk away with the million, but watching interviews I've realised that her fatal mistake was being too involved with Russell to the point where people thought she was too reliant on him and was riding his coattails- keep in mind that any move Parvati made came back to Russell (most famously the two idol play, one of the idols she got from Russell) so she was guilty by association, which is no ones fault really since nobody was willing to play with Parvati. And for all of you who say Sandra failed to get rid of Russell, she wasn't the only one. As much credit as we give to Parvati, we forget that she and Danielle were wanting to get rid of Russell, but couldn't do it. People hating on Sandra just don't like her gameplay bcuz she's not a camera whore like Russell. Sandra is and will always be the Queen of Survivor until we get another two time winner (which should've never fucking happened in the first place).
It's weird, Russell is a douche, but he's a brilliant one. I've met people like him. He doesn't act on emotion at all, which is perfect for this game, until the Jury accuses you of being a cold hearted dick. It's finding that balance, that's the beauty of this game. Strength alone won't do it, kindness alone won't do it, even strategy alone won't do it. It's that delicate balance. And Sandra did it perfectly, even if it was accidental.

Sandra= six jury votes. She was up for 16 overall and won 12. Won both of her seasons. Russell= zero jury votes. He was up for 18 overall, more than any other contestant, and won only two. Lost all three of his seasons. Nuff said.

Sandra won by failing to get Russell out. Had she succeeded, and Russell was voted out with around 9 left, she had no path to winning the game. The heroes would have taken over, which is what Sandra wanted, and she would have no chance in a final 3 with 2 heroes. Anyone who rewatches the season will see this.

Nah I disagree. It was close between her and Parv but I think she deserved the win. She did exactly the same thing that won her Pearl Islands and nobody on that beach considered that she's riding coattails "again" and that she might win using the same strategy "again". She should have been voted out early. Game Changers and Winners at War was when people finally started to realise Sandra is a threat and actually voted her out based upon that.

More than anything, it seems an excuse fans of a particular person toss around to rationalize why their favorite didn't win and essentially undermine the biggest aspect of the game: the social aspect. Strategy involves tact and controlling the flow of information, and Russell did nothing more than be unnecessarily cruel and bombastic, which makes him a sub-par strategist and a poor social player. It's irrational to diminish the impact of a strong social game in a social experiment just so someone can be called a victim of a "bitter jury." Sandra is a magnificent persuasive orator. Both times at final tribal council everything just poured out of her without any pauses or fumbling over words. She spoke well and with a level of genuineness and directness that people appreciate. Her method was to always make herself valuable to someone by floating in the middle, so voting her off would be placing the alliance at a disadvantage. She went with the flow, voted how it would suit her best, and came out swinging at FTC twice. If one wants to say a bitter jury is real, so be it, but then even so, juries aren't inherently bitter: someone makes them that way, and that's nobody's fault but the person who makes them bitter, and that person two seasons in a row was Russell.

And for all of you who say Sandra failed to get rid of Russell, she wasn't the only one. As much credit as we give to Parvati, we forget that she and Danielle were wanting to get rid of Russell, but couldn't do it. People hating on Sandra just don't like her gameplay bcuz she's not a camera whore like Russell. Sandra is and will always be the Queen of Survivor until we get another two time winner (which should've never fucking happened in the first place).
It's weird, Russell is a douche, but he's a brilliant one. I've met people like him. He doesn't act on emotion at all, which is perfect for this game, until the Jury accuses you of being a cold hearted dick. It's finding that balance, that's the beauty of this game. Strength alone won't do it, kindness alone won't do it, even strategy alone won't do it. It's that delicate balance. And Sandra did it perfectly, even if it was accidental.

She was nice, loyal, intelligent, she strategized, and she found her inner Spanish sass in her when she needed to use it against Russell or other Villains. Same with Parvati - she is a perfect blend of kindness, intelligence, and loyalty. I love those two people - they deserve to win. Russell didn't.

Vindictiveness in place of strategy; Hates challenges, didnt win a single individual one and sits out half of them; lazy, uncouth and mean-spirited. I cant even call sandra a coattail rider cause that would imply that she actually DID something. In her season, she was lucky to get taken to the end through a bad play by Lill. Sandra= six jury votes. She was up for 16 overall and won 12. Won both of her seasons.
Russell= zero jury votes. He was up for 18 overall, more than any other contestant, and won only two. Lost all three of his seasons.

Sandra won by failing to get Russell out. Had she succeeded, and Russell was voted out with around 9 left, she had no path to winning the game. The heroes would have taken over, which is what Sandra wanted, and she would have no chance in a final 3 with 2 heroes.
Anyone who rewatches the season will see this.

Let's be honest. She won both times because she was so bad that no one ever needed to get rid of her and then at the vote, her challengers were so hated that everyone on the jury would have voted for anyone as long is it wasn't her opponent.
Sandra is the luckiest player in Survivor history. People say she played a great game in Season 20, but that's bullshit. She won because the jury voted out of spite. If Parvati and Russell would've taken Jerry to the final 3 instead, and won, all of you would be saying Jerry played the best game EVER. Just because you won Survivor doesn't mean you played the best game that season. There is also a ton of luck.

Sandra is objectively a terrible player. I have no idea why she's always so confident about failing every single challenge. It's not hard to make it to the end if you never have any power and no one cares about you. all she had to do was not quit and she'd float to the end.
Nah I disagree. It was close between her and Parv but I think she deserved the win. She did exactly the same thing that won her Pearl Islands and nobody on that beach considered that she's riding coattails "again" and that she might win using the same strategy "again". She should have been voted out early.

the problem with people like you is you all have this idea that the most sneaky, cunning and chaotic player should always win. survivor is much bigger than that though. sandra has won twice because she is smart but subtle. she gave the heroes a chance to save themselves and they blew it. she then maintained those relationships with the heroes while they were being picked off, she had every single hero on the jury rooting for her to win. she is the queen of subtlety, if russ or parv knew she was whispering in the ears of the heroes and securing there jury votes they never would have brought her so she did it quietly in the shadows. great player and great win she deserved it.

***** I don't know where this whole concept of a "bitter jury" originally surfaced, but it's absurd to me. More than anything, it seems an excuse fans of a particular person toss around to rationalize why their favorite didn't win and essentially undermine the biggest aspect of the game: the social aspect. Strategy involves tact and controlling the flow of information, and Russell did nothing more than be unnecessarily cruel and bombastic, which makes him a sub-par strategist and a poor social player. It's irrational to diminish the impact of a strong social game in a social experiment just so someone can be called a victim of a "bitter jury." Sandra is a magnificent persuasive orator. Both times at final tribal council everything just poured out of her without any pauses or fumbling over words. She spoke well and with a level of genuineness and directness that people appreciate. Her method was to always make herself valuable to someone by floating in the middle, so voting her off would be placing the alliance at a disadvantage. She went with the flow, voted how it would suit her best, and came out swinging at FTC twice. If one wants to say a bitter jury is real, so be it, but then even so, juries aren't inherently bitter: someone makes them that way, and that's nobody's fault but the person who makes them bitter, and that person two seasons in a row was Russell.
