- Paronychia treatment! In this shorts video, I'll show you how to lance a paronychia around your fingernail. Paronychia is another name for infection, or pus around your fingernail or toenail. If not in the wilderness, I would recommend going to your doctor to have it looked at and I&D'd. But if you're deep in the wilderness with a tight throbbing finger that keeps getting more and more red, this is how you can I&D it, or lance it while at camp. #paronacional #infectedfinger

Soak it in warm water with Epsom salt. And if it's really red around it, maybe have a doctor pop it for you.

I always used to ge tthese but i just use sissors to cut over the green part wich has the stuff inside then relese it out and i use sudocrem to heal the wounds

I had that but it was like a black thing in my nail I poked it puss came out but it was red but it in warm water now it’s healing
I'm glad you were able to get the pus out, and it's healing. It's helpful to add some Epsom salt to your warm water
I had paronychia once and I got the puss out, then I got it a second time and couldn’t get the puss out but it drained on its own
You know all you have to do is lift the skin off the nail and it just drains right?
Yes, if the skin is able to lift off the nail. In case, it was not.

I did not, but my infection was very localized to the tip of my finger. It did not have streaking or redness all the way down my finger. If that were the case, then yes, I would have needed antibiotics.

Soak it in warm water with Epsom salt and gently massage the side of the nail to see if you can release it like that. If it doesn't go away, or the Redness gets worse, you should go to a medical professional and have them do it for you.
