Daylyt is like the perfect personification of High culture vs Popular culture in the Hip Hop community. His verses are so phenomenal that they can't be appreciated by casual listeners. I bought a painting from Burlington a couple of days ago, an overhead view of Paris as it was in the 1800s. Its likely a photocopy of a painting made by an artist that no one particularly cares about, but it looks nice, was relatively cheap and fits well with the color scheme of my living room. I suppose I could have (if I had 60 million dollars) bought a Picasso to fill the same space on my wall. But the Picasso would likely have been abstract (ugly to the untrained eye), extremely expensive and less aesthetically pleasing to my guest. in fact, I would have to explain what Picasso was trying to say in the painting to my house guest because of how convoluted the message of the painting would likely be. This is exactly what Shaq is having to do with this freestyle, explain it for the Layman. Daylyt is like Picasso, he's brilliant, but unfortunately, those of us that observe and appreciate High culture Hip Hop don't spend millions of dollars on Hip Hop masterpieces. If we did just listening to this masterpiece would cost more than most of us (assumption) would have to spend. he's not underrated, he's just to complex for people that want the Burlington painting version of a Hip Hop record.
