At the start of the video I was like “I’m not gonna cry, I’ve watched this music video a few times already”, and then cried shortly after 😢. The music and video clip just works so well together and I love how it jumps from happy to sad and back again. If I remember correctly it's all self produced, self written, and the video was directed, edited and shot themselves. Hugging both my cats (Cleopatra and Xena) to cheer me up again.
Virtual hugs, Kitty!! Yeah, I've watched this now a couple more times and cried one of those times. Such a powerful video over an AWESOME song. Thanks again for another excellent recommendation - even if it was devastating!! xoxo
I seriously have tried (to not cry) several times in weeks apart ... and it just doesn't lose its effect on me. It only seems to get worse, since I can follow the story better and can appreciate the perfectly fitting music even more. This is such an emotional masterpiece.
This song and video destroyed me and picked me back up, I lost my son 13 years ago in his sleep (he was 2 months old) I buried the pain real deep and learned to function again after the loss, with time. But it's clear that those among us that have survived what is an unnatural order of things never fully heal. This song is so raw for me, I absolutely love it. Suggest you watch it a couple times, there's so many nuances and layers to the video, he's watching his life on the big screen (supposedly we see our life flash when we pass is the idea). They met in the beginning when he was a piano teacher and she walked in for a lesson. It's why he sets the piano on fire throughout the video, for some sort of closure. Heaven knows I went through a phase of trying to remove things that were unbearable to look at during the many stages of grief. What a masterpiece in videography
I’m sorry for your loss. This is why metal is such a god send. I swear these bands are therapists for their fans & they know it dude! Stay strong please!
@RMRealEstateProductions : This comment made me cry with you - I'm sorry it took so long to reply. Thank you for being willing to share your story, and please know our hearts hurt for the loss of your son. I've (Jillian) since watched the video numerous times alone, cry every single time, and have definitely picked up on the details you mention. We 100% agree that this is a masterpiece of epic proportion. We are so happy you are here. ❤🥷🏻

I love all the details in the music and the video. How he’s wringing out his shirt after trying to drown himself. Burning the piano which is what helped them meet in the first place. It’s so such a powerful backdrop to the music.
A comment i saw described the video perfect to me. They started the video at the end, he's back home and that is his mom or some sort of parental figure, the piano was the thing that brought them together and him burning it is him wanting to forget the memories and pain. Then of course the events follow with the miscarriage and overdose. The screen he's watching is essentially watching his life flash before his eyes while he attempts to take his own life with driving into the water but either fails or doesn't go through with it.
The car part could've been him getting rid of the last thing from their relationship. So many clips of them in the car then he drives the car into the water to sink it
The lyrics, “I wish for the start, while I pray for the end,” directly reference this! As he’s reflecting as his life is flashing before his eyes, he’s wishing for himself to be at the start of their relationship while he’s praying for his own end. Ugh the poetry is so beautiful
Definitely one of the best songs of the year, and I know Falling In Reverse has all the crazy CGI and effects but I'd say it's easily the best music video of the year, I love when songs can make you feel something whether it's sadness like this one or joy or laughter or whatever else, and this one definitely made me feel maybe more than I wanted to I couldn't stop crying this one hit me hard

While she sleeps' guitar riff is so different and unique.
