My daughter died during birth, and the nurse asked if it was my desire that she be baptized. I said yes, and she did a lay baptism for her. It gives me great comfort to think she is with our Heavenly Father. I thank that nurse for thinking of my baby's baptism when I was inconsolable in my grief.
We had a miscarriage 32 years ago. We were devastated. I named her Evelyn. We have 3 adult children, 2 sons and a daughter. She has been since a part of our lives. It gives us comfort and hope to know she is praying for us and waiting to meet us one day❤
After my very first miscarriage, I had five, I asked my husband to take me to morning mass. Our priest noticed me and approached us after mass. When I told what happened, his response gave me such comfort. He said, "As parents, you pray that your children will be together with you in heaven. Now, you have a child in heaven that is praying for you to be with them." He also told us to call on our child(ren) to pray for our family. We have two beautiful children that have grown into adulthood. But I have never forgotten about my five in heaven.
I miscarried around 8 weeks this fall. I baptized my baby and named him/her. I went looking for a small box to bury the baby in. I found a small jewelry box from the company The Little Catholic that was written on the front. It was a great comfort to me as I was doubting a little since there is no knowing how long the baby had died.
Thank you Father Brad! Always good to start the day with prayer.. and thank you for your heartfelt reflection. Hope you have a beautiful and prayerful day! 💜🌻
Fr. Brad please pray for the repose of the souls of baby Elizabeth and James and their mom, Ciara who passed away from accident at birth and for the dad/husband.🙏🙏🙏🙏Thank you.
I often wondered this…thank you Fr. Brad. My daughter had a loss at @18 weeks. Her first & now only child. I often wondered this if the baby was baptized after his birth since she was so distraught she couldn’t speak to whom she thought was the priest when he came in to apparently ask.
Thank you Father Doyle. When I miscarried very early on, my Catholic doctor told me that it was God's hand in something which was imperfect. It was consoling, although I still wonder about that explanation.
I lost 4 babies all in my first trimester…I think of them often and believe I will see them in Heaven…
Thank you, Fr. Brad, as I pray for all the holy innocent children today and every day! 🙏🏻🤲🏻🙌🏻😇✝️

Thank you Father Brad for these comforting words ❤
The Grace of Baptism is necessary for salvation. How that Grace comes to you can be through different means, including directly from God!
Amen 🙏🏻
