>>When I was about 22y old I went to their gig in Belgium and found it so amazing that the following night I rode to a little town in the Netherlands, Goes, just to see them again. Both concerts were truly amazing ! If that was 1985 - we played Bruge I think (filmed for French tv) and then Pandora's Music Box in Rotterdam. We covered a Sabbath number but couldn't get it started - just couldn't get it together until Karl shouts "1!,2!,3!,4!". How can one not start a Sabbath riff????
A fantastically perverse and wonderful song. One of the very few that the late and very great John Peel refused to play more than once. File under 'Corrupting influence music' Honestly, how fucking great is this?
Can anyone post their version of Heartbreak Hotel ? It's a great song but I don't have it anymore. Thanks. When I was about 22y old I went to their gig in Belgium and found it so amazing that the following night I rode to a little town in the Netherlands, Goes, just to see them again. Both concerts were truly amazing ! Whatever happened to them afterwards ? Does anyone know ?
@entraildivider yep, I remember the gig in Antwerp, Belgium and I also went to the gig in Goes, Netherelands the next day.Great gigs, both of them. I probably still have pictures of thse gigs somewhere but as I move a couple of times since then, I'm sure I still have those but there're probably in a box on the attic somewhere. Loved the band, still have the original vinyl records. All the best !
I recall John Peel saying he wouldn't play this (During his evening show on Radio 1). Given Peel's penchant for young females it seemed a bit hypocritical.
@@Agaricfly68 Peel never banned the record. In fact on his 12 November 1984 show, he thought the ban was ludicrous, but said he didn't play the record, because he thought it wasn't any good. You can listen to the show where he said that below: peel.fandom.com/wiki/12_November_1984
crazy good

PURE GENIUS...
I was shocked when I first listened to this song at the pre concert of Morrissey. The guy really knows about good music.
Morrissey is using this great song for his pre-gig music
Thanks for including the lyrics :)
Thanks for posting this. I've been looking for this track!

Classic swinging tune!.
Very nice! I had this taped and it was messed up by the elements.
See also 'Lemon Kittens' and 'The Underneath' and Karl Blake solo ofcourse
Think about the content of the song. That's something he's familiar with at least.
I heard this on CFNY once back in 1984/85. Thanks for posting it! Been looking for it since forever.
Great post...There version of Heartbreak Hotel is good value too
Is it true that John Peel refused to play this?

He also liked football.
I love the guy, he really was the guru for so many years, but the football crap really bugged me.
