Enjoyed your video - - thanks for sharing. I am modifying a Craftsman aerator to incorporate the tines for dethatching. Your video confirmed my design decision. Regards.......
GREAT VIDEO! This is EXACTLY the kind of information what I was looking for before I added the de-thatcher option to my John Deere 42" lawn sweep. Thank you!
Additionally, kudos to your selection of camera angles. Like myself, you seem to appreciate that the most holistic picture is told from multiple viewpoints.
Appreciate the feedback, I had questions before I bought mine and couldnt find the information I was looking either. I yry my best to create informative videos to help others out so I greatly appreciate your feedback. Its extra work with all of the angles but i feel like it completes the story! Thanks again for stopping in!
Was looking at tow behind dethatchers and this seems like a way better solution especially if you don't have a bagger. I was not looking forward to collecting all the thatch manually and I think just trying to mulch the thatch would be counterproductive.
I was told when I called people that made my lawn sweeper, to not go over 5mph it will keep you from burning gears up on wheels that turn brushes, just a little preventative maintenance
liked the video and that you were using your tractor for the presentation. i've been looking at buying one of the yard sweepers out there to pull behind my JD 1025r....we dont have a menards out here in utah, but im impressed with your setup and would like the same for mine...
I appreciate you stopping in! Agrifab has a very similar setup and can be found on places like Amazon. I think you could order this online from Menards as well if you were really interested!
Excellentaaay!! Thanks for the in depth review ...just picked up and assembled the sweeper and dethatchamatic!! Can't wait to tear up some lawn (in a good way of course)
Just did some more dethatching the other day before its decided to rain non-stop and im still impressed by how well the setup works. Thanks for stopping by!
Thank you for posting this. I'd been considering the Yardworks sweeper but wasn't sure how durable it was. Quick question - something I can't seem to find elsewhere online - how easy does the sweeper fold up for storage? Can you store it vertically with the bagger compressed? Other sweepers can flatten semi-easily. Not sure if this is the case with the Yardworks sweeper. Thank you.
It can be stored vertically however you must take out the supports that keep the bag extended to do such. Its not ideal for that but it will work. Thanks for stopping in!
Definitely up to you, i find that it worked pretty well as is. Obviously adding more tines will only help! Let me know what you end up doing! Thanks for stopping in
Will this work on the John Deere sweepers? Believe they’re made by brinly hardy if I’m not mistaken. Man this would be a game changer if it worked on my John Deere sweeper
I don’t know why manufacturers haven’t made universal platform all in one tow behind attachments. Seems like it would be fairly simple to have a tow behind that can do dethatching and lawn sweeper, core aerator and broadcast spreader or even sprayer. I don’t want to have 4-5 different tow behinds for it.
It really is a wonder sometimes why something like this doesnt exist. I know alot of times muti-use products are not good at any one specific thing, which could make sense in this situation. Thanks for stopping in!
Technically dethatching is never required. It does however promote a healthier lawn, reduces weeds and will make it thicker. Typically, i dethatch fall and spring here in iowa. Thanks for stopping in!
@@k6outdoors ok so at least once a year. It’s looks very therapeutic lol. My weeds are getting out of hand and I’m trying to not spray until I’ve tried something to promote the grass growth first. Thank you
@@k6outdoors have you pushed it hard any? I pushed a new Agri fab 42in lawn sweeper hard for 6hrs straight and stripped the edges of the teeth off the plastic wheel hub gears. That was yesterday lol
@@k6outdoors I like the idea of having the dethatcher attachment. I rented a gas powered dethatcher yesterday and pushed that 20" thing on 2 acres in crosshatch pattern. Then bagged it all with the lawn sweeper, picked up 17 loads (at 25sqft a load) that day, talk about a long 12 hour day. I may have destroyed my lawn sweeper because of the speed and work load ( Was running it late into the night and rushing so faster was better). What did that model run you with the attachment? The one I picked up yesterday was $420
I actually just roll it into my garage and slip the hopper up onto itself, nothing special. I know some people swing the hitch in and collapse the hopper, but I do not. Thanks for stopping in.
Clip doesn't work for me. I have a agrifab sweeper and this thatcher and wheel hits bar to hitch which then makes it impossible to clip up. Other then that I like it

Correct, always run the equipment at lower speeds when pulling the lawn sweeper, thank for stopping in.
I just bought a house last fall and am a total rookie, but this looks like a huge timesaver. Thanks for the content!
Appreciate you stopping in!
Sweet I have a sweeper already and this attachment would be awesome!! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!
Love me a good dethatcher!
Alot of options out there for sure, but glad to just have one! Appreciate you watching, thanks for stopping in!

Awesome. Simple and a time saver in one.
Couldnt agree more on the simple nature of this, glad i went this route! Thanks!

Bonjour mon ami 🌞 That is amazing set up Sir 😊👍 You save also time and fuel too 👌😊 Great Mahindra tractor action 😊👌 Cheers 🍻
Time is money they say! Thanks! Its fall time!
Great video. I really want to know how to attach the sweeper to that tractor, please?
I used the draw bar on the tractor and just dropped the hitch pin though the hole, hope this helps. Thanks for stopping in
Oh man, and I just bought CMP dethatcher! Gotta admit, your toy there is pretty sweet.
I am impressed that it works as well as it does, cant have enough toys!

@@k6outdoors I thought that might be the case. Many thanks for the reply! Also - hello from a former Iowan!
Any thoughts on buying 2, then moding it for 2 rows of offset tines? Thanks for the video.

I have a similar setup but unfortunately does not work with pine needles and leaves. They rapidly pack up the dethatcher.
Thanks for the feedback, I dont have much experience with pine needles but could see how it could be difficult. Thanks for stopping in!
Kyle - Great views of the dethatcher at work! I've been thinking about getting a lawn sweeper - but they're pretty expensive! -Chad #purplecollarlife
Appreciate it chad! I was hesitant to buy one at first, bit its been nice to uses the grass clippings to mulch the garden! Thanks for stopping by!
Im just wondering how often I will use it. I guess the question is how often is dethatching required. I’m in Georgia trying to revive my Bermuda

Would these damage and in ground sprinkler head you think?

Could you mow, sweep and dethatch at same time?
No reason you couldn't if you feel comfortable with it!
Nice!

How's it holding up so far.
So far so good, works like new still!
