Testing Duke Fude Nib Fountain Pen - Sketching a Van

- I wanted to try a largely recommended tool by urbansketchers, a Fude Nib Pen. The Fude Nib pen is very versatile because it works like a brush, obtaining from very thin lines to very thick ones.
Compared to a fineliner, where the line is consistent, the line obtained with a Fude Nib pen is calligraphic and has more character, making a sketch more interesting
Materials used:
Paper: Arches watercolor paper, Hot pressed, 185 gsm, 100% cotton
Watercolor portable set: Rembrandt - Royal Talens
Tintoretto synthetic brush
Pen for drawing: Duke 2009 Charlie Chaplin Commemoration Bent Nib Fountain Pen, Dark Blue Color, Calligraphy Collection Fude Pen 0.5-1.2 mm
Ink: Bulletproof EEL Noodlers’s Fountain Pen Ink-Black

Lovely sketch. The music in the beginning reminds me of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood 😊
Thanks for the clear explanation. Do you still recommend this pen ? Nice sketch by the way
Thank you! I still totally recommend this pen.
@@VictorSeremet Just curious: does this pen compare to the Sailor Fude? Do you have a preference?
Fantastic, thoroughly enjoyable video. I just bought the Duke 551 Confucius Fude so this was really inspiring!
Thank you!
It's beautiful. Thank you very much for the review.
Thank you so much!
А я только приобрёл Sailor Fude 55.Вот теперь осваиваю. И эти чернила себе присматриваю. Спасибо за отличный скетч. Кое что для себя подсмотрел.
Great an sketcth! I have many Fude pens and I teach “Sketching with FountainPens”! Here In San Francisco.
Thank you so much!
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
I have a 209 Duke with Fude with a same or similar nib I'm not sure. I write Chinese Calligraphy and the pen writes well, but my complain is that the pen is too thin and slippery which I accidently dropped today and broke the nib. I am looking for a replacement. How does the Duke 209 compare to this pen. Does it use the same nib? Does it feel comfortable to grip at the grip area above the nib?
@@HumbleBearcat I also find it slippery and quite short.
@@VictorSeremet Do you think these 2 pen use the same fude nib? Thx!
@@HumbleBearcat I am not aware of this
@@VictorSeremet i think I will buy this pen in your review and hopefully i will find the ergonomic more suitable for me. Thank you for a good demonstration and I will try to do sketches with a fountain pen in addition to the calligraphy.
The Bulletproof EEL Noodler's ink must be waterproof which I didn't know was available for fountain pens. This is the type of sketching I want to do. Thanks.
What color did you used for the shadows and darks?
For the shadows and darks I used Payne's grey. Thank you for asking!
I just bought this pen in China. Great looking pen. I am a newbie.....
