I 100% agree. When I first watched the island, I was confused on why he scammed the keepers. I was so confused, because his possession arc literally ends with him dropping all of his money from Rex to help the ninja, why is he suddenly back to being a criminal
Although there are inconsistencies and lack of explanation regarding whether ronin is on the ninjas side or not , i actually kinda liked the idea of him being a character who would turn to any side just for the money, even though he is chill with the ninja ( until they put him in jail )
His loyalties lie with his family. He has a wife and kid (kids?) according to Tommy Andreason’s could be cannon novel Way of the Departed. He does stuff for money to keep his family afloat, and in that book it also shows he has conflicts internal feeling about betraying the ninja. But ultimately his family is the most important factor in what he does. Ik the book isn’t technically cannon, but like- it’s by Tommy Andreason ima personally count it.
I can understand ronan's actions as a bounty hunter trying to capture the ninja in that one season because he just made a good impression he used to be a wanted criminal now he's been redeemed and wants to stay on the up and up so he doesn't want the police to think he's helping the Ninja I'll let that slide but everything else really Ronin really I'm not mad I'm just disappointed
I haven’t seen this video, but I don’t think Ronin has been ruined. Also his last name is Kognito so his name is Ronin Kognito in case you didn’t notice
Unlike most people I didn't really mind Ronin arresting everyone in Skybound. What he did was very in-character for him to do. I could totally see him catching the ninja and EXPECTING them to escape (after all, they did escape the caves of despair that was rigged to explode and the FSMs tomb unscathed in the previous season, so escaping prison should be most certainly doable for them. The idea of him basically scamming the police commissioner by taking the ninjas bounties placed on them only for the ninja to escape the next day is totally something he would do. In short, I like Ronin as a morally gray character (albeit leaning more towards the good side), but I also don't like how he was handled in Crystallized.
I mean in his defense in season 6 it does hint as part of his motivation being to clear the ninjas name, even if it was out of character for him to do. I really hope he shows up in dragons rising though.
Great video, Weevie! Keep in mind that it’s generally accepted by the community that Ronin has a wife and at least one kid, a daughter. Not sure what their situation looks like since they’re so barely mentioned, but it could be what influences his actions, morally speaking.
I thought Ronin was so peak, I firstly saw him in lego ninjago s4 game, he was hard boss fight, and then in show, its was peak, I had his mech and lots of his figures somehow
