This movie has stuck with me every day since I saw it last week. I see a lot of Tom Hardy from Bronson in this movie and a lot of Tom Hardy in Jack O"Connell. Jack, like Tom, can say a million things with just his expression and his eyes. Not many can do that. He has amazing emotional range and mad talent. Huge things to come from this gorgeous slice of British man, and I look forward to seeing it. Now to go on a Jack O'Connell film binge and watch everything I can get my hands on on this side of the pond.
Mari Wasp oh my gosh!!! Cook!!!! One of my favorite characters of all the time. Phenomenal acting! Nothing can beat the very end of the third season when he gets the guy that killed Freddie! Skins is a favorite and I am 41 lol. Just rented starred up. Because he was in it! So excited and the accent is so strong I can’t understand a word!! Ugghhh... I’m so frustrated... they say the movie is great but wtf. Skins wasn’t hard to understand!! Geez
+Lynn Lyle Pathetic bunch of Arty luvies, terrible film, the father is a posh Aussie who has never lived in the real world, pathietic bunch of middle class pricks.
he says it's a genre film but I think it turned out to be more of a character study, couple of good twists involving the characters which made me really think about who these people were and how the kid became the way he is. Jack O'Connell is always brilliant in everything I've seen him in and he's terrific in this, probably his best work. He seems quite method in this and uses the environment to his advantage. What I hate is that none of the other actors are mentioned much, it's very much a team effort, the guys from the group are absolutely brilliant as well and very focussed. The group scenes were my favourite. Rupert Friend is terrific as well, he appears terrified of these guys but he always stands between them while they work their own problems out. Each character is very rounded out and you feel sympathy for even the hardest men in the film. Good job!!!! :)
Jack O'Connell is incredibly talented. He has done some amazing performances since.. Unbroken, Godless, The North Water, SAS Rogue Heroes. First saw him in Eden Lake, didn't realise it was him but God his character was unnerving. I remember seeing Tom Hardy at the beginning of his career and wanting him to go far, same for Jack O'Connell. I'm sure he will have an amazing career too. Looking forward to seeing what he can do.
Randomly clicked this on netflix and as an American, honestly better than most of the main stream shit coming out over here. great story supported by great acting.
Been to frakland and fill Sutton amongst others anyway this is the most realistic prison film ever, jack oconell for the peaky blinders Rkid lucky boro fc liveforever 🎉
looks a great film been waiting over a year now to see it when i do see it im gonna watch it the next day an the day after !!! deff getting it on bluray
One of my very favorite actors. Couldn’t wait to see it. Got so excited when I could rent it on prime and the accent is so strong I can’t understand a word!! Seen many movies with this accent with no problem!! What’s going on??
Woah woah woah. Right there’s certain angles when you can see jack’s feet right. If you watch volume 3 episode 10 of skins. He’s wearing the exact same shoes. Mind. Blown
Отличный фильм,шедевральная игра главных героев,невероятно талантливый О’Коннель,один из немногих актеров ,кто с виду обычный ,а на экране создаёт какую-то невероятную магию,браво! Это не каждому актеру дано
He's definitely got SWAG. That's not something you can adopt, you either have it or you don't. Who knew British Men were so bad ass? You'd think he was born in Brooklyn.
This is for David: T-T-T-TODAY JUNIOR!!! Absolutely FUCKIN AMAZING MOVIE Jack was great in this and HE NEEDS A HELL OF ALOT MORE LEADING ROLES!! Jack is very well spoken and answers these questions like he’s heard them before, if you can understand, he’s fuckin EPIC his knob biting skills
What a film. I don't usually like prison films - too much revelling in the sadism and machismo, in my opinion, but this is different. It's about damaged humans, the violence is secondary. The way Jack and Ben play two absolute nutters who are also extremely sensitive, damaged, sad men, struggling with what to do with their pent-up rage and hurt (with some very vulnerable moments) must be incredibly difficult to convey, but they do a beautiful job. I can't imagine many actors being able to do that. It's a cliché but they bring humanity to those characters.
It's a term used in the British prison system when a young person in a youth offenders institute gets moved to adult prison quickly cause they're extremely violent & out of control

One of the best prison dramas I've ever seen. Surely a myriad of awards is inevitable.
my friend from college back in 2016 recommended this movie, he then went into youth offenders prison himself, this film always reminds me of him.
Amazing, must-see film with brilliant performances!

Strange seeing him speak without threatening to burn someone alive.
Top actor!
Eden Lake was expertly cast, but O’Connell *made* that film.
Directed by Mark Corrigan
Full Install 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Type casting
Its just whats he's given and he takes the opportunities. Plus he can relate to most of the gritty genuine struggle of the everyday person in england
Fingers crossed for Jack to be the new batman !
I don't think that's a type of movie Jack O Connell is interested in making.
He's watched 'Performance'.

I got the hots for Jack o'connell
Lol
What does starred up mean?
He's a leader, young and violent
It means you have progressed from being in a young juvenile prison to a man's adult prison.
It's a term used in the British prison system when a young person in a youth offenders institute gets moved to adult prison quickly cause they're extremely violent & out of control
@@ItZzSarah Spot on, that's exactly what it means, not a leader.
Jjack o Connell
Is jack still in character in this interview?? When i meet him, he was very posh...
