This song. This song is the one that speaks to my soul. The music that awakened me from the dark path I was sinking into at that point in my life, when it came out on the radio. The blend of Gowan's voice and Jon Anderson's is just magical. Love it forever!
Definitely a pinnacle for Lawrence, Masterful audio sound even by today's standards wish they got the video Masters and redid it in 4k if the quality is there for it, of course Jon Anderson has the highest quality harmonies always the best at his craft and range of vocal abilities theses two together and that place must have been absolute magic, was a great time in my life when that first came out ,to see it remastered in 4k would make it last forever.
I will always remember meeting Larry Gowan at the bar downstairs from the Misty Moon in Halifax back in the '80s. He sat down and joined our table, had a beer with us and invited us up to see the show. Great guy!
If you lived through the 80's this song takes you back to it. It's to me very melancholic and mysterious. I picture a dark but seductive woman trying to bring me into her liar. As a man finding it hard to resist even though she is mysteriously dark and dangerous.. Well that's how this great classic song moves me.
You are such a sweet person and a monster of a musician Brother you do Canada proud every time you step out on stage and you with Styx is a beautiful thing :-)
I had quite a few flying dreams in my youth and one of them was me flying around the same pyramid Jon was on. When I first saw your video I was blown away by how much it looked like my dream. I’ve been a fan ever since. Thank you for your beautiful contributions to the world of music.
Found this by accident searching something else, remmeber growing up listening to this. Now I have a Gowan playlist being built for working at home. Thanks!
He is getting very nostalgic, i did always wonder though Jon Anderson was credited on the album-Great Diry World for doing backing vocals on this he wasn't when released as a single + on music video-should of said-Gown feat Jo Anderson like it did with Steve Winwood-Higher Love feat Chaka Khan.
I remember seeing Mr. LG, here in YVR, when The Spoons opened up for him at the QE Theatre. 30 years ago. Funny, this song has a strange knack of coming on the radio when I am changing out a CD when I'm driving with a workmate. It's a great song to hum along too, even if we're all out of tune (in the Service Truck) while Mr. L.G. and Mr. J.A. belt it out. Good Times! Classic!
To be able to work with the genius that is Jon Anderson is a privilege. But I believe it’s also a sign of mutual respect as Jon likely wouldn’t support an artist who didn’t also have remarkable talent.
The music video blew my mind when I was 15. We all knew he was relatively new Canadian artist but the production value of the video was like David Lee Roth or something. I was like Holy shtt!
i'm curious as to why styx added criminal mind to their library but not his other hits. did larry realize he may lose his whole rights if he separates with the styx?
Just saw the video for the first time. Better than strange. Honestly, the piano sounds a little too bright and the tempo should have been slower. Musicianship is incredibly good.
I never heard the song until 2022 while driving in northern Maine and heard it on a Canada radio station.
Moonlight desires is awesome!
This has always been one of my favourite Gowan songs! 💗 , I watched you at Wonderland late 80's. Loved it :)
His voice and Jon's work so well together. Ethereal...

One of the best all time.
I love watching him interviewed. He’s so thoughtful and intelligent, not to mention handsome.

ab348 did that happen to be in 1983 when Gowan opened for Coney Hatch? If so I was there. Awesomeness!!

Gowan was just amazing and still is
As if I didnt already love this song, this little interview while he listens to his own song is just amazing.

this song and gowan is timeless still on our radio 2022 daily .

Great song. What a memory from my childhood, and I still love it today.
One of the world's most beautiful songs.

He’s clearly proud of this gem of a song. Total masterpiece.❤️

love gowan's solo work, even in australia you can find his records
Best song ever! He still looks great!
Omg! Gowen looks fantastic! Love his style/look! 80's🎵❤️
Who the hell downvoted this! Epic tune!!
This song is as majestic as they come...
I love the song, and I think that the video was about the most visually gorgeous ones ever made.
Great hit miss the 80s
Play this song at work at least once a day. It's our theme song.
Great work of art.

Beautiful song.
Great song and video.
I love this song more now than I did in the eighties. So good!
Always, always enjoyed Larry’s music.
He was ahead of that 80s groove that became tainted by others commercialism, his was authentic and elevated.
I love all your songs!! This video is amazing!! This song brings tears to my eyes!!
One of my all time favorites from the 80s, got my cassette from Columbia House thru there 1 cent deals....so 80s, I love it.🙂
loving this song still aug 2019

Masterpiece.
You are awesome!
I never knew Jon Anderson sang harmonies in this. Another great classic track from Gowan.
I discovered this song from degrassi school's out!
"You were FUCKING Tessa Campinelli!?!?!?" :)
@@victimology7761 Funny, the US version was dubbed as "FOOLING WITH"

I hope you have him back one of these days. I would love to hear him talk about "A Criminal Mind".
Working on it!

Handsome as hell.

2:46 Right there!
This song is an absolute frikkin masterpiece. ❤ I do think in an alternate universe, it’s actually a Type O Negative song too 😄.
Every time I hear this song I think of Joey Jeremiah and Tessa Campanelli from Degrassi junior high.
It was Degrassi High; particularly from the TV movie "School's Out"
lawrence "mayan pyramids" gowan
70's 80's and 90's BOOM 97.3
This song went to the wolfcop movie
17 watching this video I really thought they were rock gods.
What month in 1987 was it released?
Degrassi School's Out with Tessa Campinelli getting pregnant
I had such a crush on Tessa!!!! I'm not saying what Joey did was right, but ... I understand. :)
I always remember his music on Degrassi! 😂
“You were fucking Tessa Campinelli?”
i'm curious as to why styx added criminal mind to their library but not his other hits. did larry realize he may lose his whole rights if he separates with the styx?
nah, its just because it's a Styx show, not a Gowan show. When Axl joined AC/DC, they weren't crankin' out Paradise City.
WTF happened to his mullet ???
this coulda been a Yes song
Naw I love this song but the bassline isn't all over the place enough to be a yes song lol
Those are Aztec pyramids not Mayan.
@2:50 is where the magic is...
Perfect comment :-)
Sounds very Yes-ish
Is Gowan the spawn of Harvey Keitel?
It makes me so sad that Gowan is frozen in amber with the rest of Styx instead of making his own music. One of my very favourite musicians.
I guess he chose financial security over artistry.
having seen him with Styx, i agree, however, he still is a great performer. Wish he was doing his own music, but...
Just saw the video for the first time. Better than strange. Honestly, the piano sounds a little too bright and the tempo should have been slower. Musicianship is incredibly good.
A real musician
