Ok a lot of people have problems with the device being stuck on the boot screen. It freezes and wont boot into your gallery. Here's the solution; 1. The main thing is to replace the TF/SD card it came with. The Pixoo 64 reads constantly from the card, which degrades the quality. Buy a better one; copy all the contents to your desktop. Then copy all that content back onto the new SD card. 2. Reset the device. Hold down the POWER button until you hear a beep. Go into the app and reconnect your device. Voila, your Pixoo is back on track!
In the "Preset" mode, how many animations can you load to watch consecutively. I was told in the past it was x12 with Divoom, which is twice as good as the x6 of my cheaper idotmatrix. Is it now higher than x12? thanks!
From the first time i started using it, ive been uploading countless animations to the SD card. There is no end as far as I know. It just plays them all one by one from the SD card. I have a few hundred of them, so after the last one, it repeats itself.
The funny thing is: in the Divoom app there are animations that exceed the 64 pixel limit and can't run on the Pixoo. I don't know what Divooms roadmap is at this point (they havent announced a successor)
2 years later, I'm waiting for it to be more affordable since it's just a novelty item. You can buy 1440p 144hz monitors with IPS panels for $250 cad at this point (3.6 million pixels) yet this basic 4096 pixel screen is still $200.. actually insane lol. It should be $50-75 max.
Hey, great review and tips! One thing I can’t figure out. When I created a slideshow (upload to frame) do you know where to find the gifs that I put in that slideshow? Can’t find it anywhere… Must be some way to edit the slideshows u create. I accidentally added the same gif twice and now I can’t erase it, or at least I don’t know how to. Hope you can help 🙏
Thank you! As far as I know all the GIFS are exported to the SD card thats in the frame. I used to import GIFS in the app, then upload them to the frame. They are still on the SD card, so all of it must be there.
I think you can use the microphone to sync the animation with the background noise and music. And the option to chat with other users can be useful if you'd like to comission a pixel artist for a custom animation.
Yea I was thinking that, but the manual states no such thing. I haven't found it, at least. I wouldn't recommend commissions from artist on the app : I still frequently visit the gallery, and there are maybe a handful of artists that deliver original artwork, instead of just 'rips'. Some of them have their social media on their bio, so it'll be better to contact them trough those platforms.
@@fistbumpbros I have a question if you don't mind. Are you supposed to turn the pixoo on and off everytime you use it? Or do you just keep it on? Mine is just new. I haven't really used it much since I'm still renovating my work area 😊
hi, I tried to download the application to try the settings, but many are blocked because I don't have the product, planning for which is fundamental for me 1-is there a way to make it turn on and off but leave it "on with the screen off"? in the sense that I am away from home until 5pm, I would like it to turn on from 5pm to midnight only on certain days, 2.- regarding the alarm clock, is the speaker loud? Can it be turned off using the buttons above the display? in case you can choose to turn off the screen at certain times, see point 1, does it work with the screen off? 3. I would like to attach some rings to the threaded holes below, can I choose the rotation of the screen? thanks a lot
Regarding your questions.. 1. Yes, there is a timed mode in the settings. You can insert a time for shut down and time to start. 2. Yes. 3. You can rotate the screen in settings.
@@fistbumpbros yea, I mean there is a lot to be desired, like just in general more custom tabs would be nice, and then yes shuffle would be nice. Would also be nice to set how long each "GIF" is shown, and how long each "custom collection" is shown. Hi, how is the Pixoo 64 working after a year of use? Have you run into any issues? I’m thinking of buying but I’m seeing review about lifespan and connection issues
It has been faulty for a few months now, but only because I don't have the time to solve the problem. I still need to check it. It boots up but freezes in it's boot animation. I remember taking out the SD card, rebooting it etc works.
@@fistbumpbros Doesn’t come up, I haven’t bought the product yet. Just playing with the app. Do you have to have the product for it come up though or can I use the clocks before I buy the product?
I saw their other products from time to time, like the mini CRT TV that displays pixels. This just popped up onto my radar while looking for something cool to display in my game area.

Read about it, finally fixed mine (I actually had a spare 15 minutes) and it's just holding down the power button till you hear a beep. After that, it's just running the usual setup to get it all started again.
This was the first time ever in about two years. I think the reason this happened is the way the unit just needs to be shut down in a hard forced shut down (cut off power instantly) which deleted the configuration i guess. Never happened before, but it works like a charm now.
@@seinerok4072 The Pixel Art version sets you back around 50 euros. The Pixoo 64 about 80. I don't think they will go down that fast anytime soon, especially not the 64 version.
