- Freeway Ricky opened up to VladTV about linking up with Danilo Blandon and being shocked that he was funding the Contra war in Nicaragua via drug trafficking. Ricky explained that he was made aware of the situation through Gary Webb's "Dark Alliance" series when he was facing life in prison, and added that was shocked at the revelation. During the conversation, Ricky touched on George Bush's role in the situation and how he pardoned recently appointed NRA president Oliver North during the Iran Contra prosecution. I read Ricky's book too it was incredibly interesting. If anyone has read "Monster" by Sanyika Shakur, you'll see that some of the same names are dropped in both books which is something I found interesting.

He told me his book was about the government sponsoring the shipment of trainloads of cocaine in the US. I'll never forget that feeling of confusion, looking at him with a totally straight face and telling me something so crazy when nothing, I mean nothing else about him was crazy or off. I had no idea who he was until years later when I saw the movie they made about him.
