YAY! Nonna is coming out of her shell on camera! Maybe she saw herself in the vlog and decided to roll with it! She is very sweet! SO looking forward to the future vlogs and cooking vids with her to see if she opens up a bit on that too. I too think subtitles would be great, especially when you cook, so you don't have to translate while you are cooking, we can just read it. Would love a little house tour of Nonna's! The "quintessential italiano home!" Safe travels and enjoy! xx

The cave are probably a Roman era stone caves, that place is one of the World's densest archeological site, you just don't know how much heritage you can find there, there is a thermal site in Baia and an underwater roman era city in Baia. That place is where the roman empereors had their villas...c'mon, let show all the artistical magnificence of that place! :)

Here in Macedonia we also have "holes" like the one in Italy. During World War and Balkan Wars they were used as a hiding places. Usually this holes were on the ground level of some fortress, like Kale fortress here in Skopje. People use to hide there from the enemies.. I hope you understand what I mean LOL
I love Nonna! I just found y'all's channel last week and have binge watched all the Italy vlogs. The interaction between Joe and Sal is completely comical!!!! Joe, you ought to get on that Rosetta Stone and learn Italian...you have a built in tutor after all. Then you could surprise her family next year!

I totally understand your nonna! I don't know how you guys roll in America, but at least in Spain and I guess Italy works like that too, you NEVER pay for parsley, celery or basil, they just give it to you,even if you're not buying, it's always free!
In America we have to pay for everything. 😀
I mean if you go to the supermarket and buy it pre-packaged we pay for it too, of course, but in stores like the one they're buying from in the video, you don't. They wouldn't even think about charging you for parsley...

Espresso grind...Laura don't knock it till you try it! Do try it and say you did!! :) I use that often in my drip pot and it's delicious. Just play with and adjust the amounts to suit your and Joe's taste. Honest....give it a try. But don't give up if you don't like it the first time. The type of pot will effect and the amount you use and will change based on how you like your coffee. Also play with different brands.
