You are such a good father, and your son reflects that. He is learning so much from you, but the most valuable thing is that he is loved. It shows in his calm confidence, his clear eyes, his poise. As a mom with a grown son, I enjoy watching your relationship as much as I do the wonderful adventures. xo from Oregon
I grew up in Indiana and every spring - we lived in an area that had morel mushrooms. We would pick and mom would clean and fry. I will never forget how we loved these and seeing this video - now I am craving mushrooms - especially morel.
Old video, I know, but thank you for being such a good dad. It really reflects in the video. Also, I plan to use this recipe as I found a few pounds of chicken today! Awesome stuff.
This is my first year of mushroom hunting. So far this year I have identified, harvested, and ate PheasantBack and today, Chicken of the Woods. I followed your recipe and they turned out great! I know all mushrooms are edible...some only once, so I might not venture too far past the top easiest to identify types.
i picked it tried it and indeed i wonder how a mushroom can taste like chicken wow it truly does..but going through the meal i also was getting a nint of vetetarian meat but more pure and more tasty
A doe and her fawn. We just saw a doe with two fawn down our road and I have a picture of a moose in our driveway. So the chicken of the woods!! I would want to make chicken mushroom parmigiana!!! Mmmm!! I am drooling watching you guys eat them. Really great to see the boys again. I’m sure you are happy 😊 Send my best wishes!!
I love mushrooms, but would have no idea about the right ones. even if I wanted to.except of course the tall round ones that look like a sponge.I thing they grow in abounding here in NC. Those look so good.you had to mention fried zucchini which we love in the South. Especially in the summer.
Just follow the recipe like I show in the video and cook it until it looks right like the picture and the video. Everyone likes theirs cooked to a different crispiness.

I found 20 lbs of Chicken of the Woods yesterday here in Indiana. My brother who lives in St. Cloud, MN wants half, lol. Absolutely a great edible.

6:12 Oh look, Harry Potter!
The dark haired son looks like a more modern Harry Potter who does modelling as a side job lol
Gotta find some of these soon! Lots of rain in the Blue Ridge Mountains lately so I am looking for them daily!

kids don't lie, thanx
I've seen chicken of the wood while out walking, but am too concerned as to what it actually is.
Thanks, Sam and Sam's dad. Any storage tips? Usually when you get COTW you get a bunch.
You can freeze them
Your son look loke harry potter
How have I never heard of this before? I need to find some and cook it
If you start getting into mushrooms, there are a lot of delicious varieties to find and cook. I hope you check out our playlist “Minnesota mushrooms”
@@TwinCitiesAdventures ok thanks!
I think I found this today. Does it grow on burnt tree stumps?
I couldn’t tell you that but I could identify it with a proper photo.
@@TwinCitiesAdventures Cooked and eaten. Chicken texture but takes on the flavour of whatever one cooks it with.
harry potter agrees. we are good to go
looks good do i just use raw and batter deep fry or boil first
Just cook it the same way we did in the video. Do not boil it, we didn’t do that.
thank you
i was wonderinng, Does sulfur shelf have an aroma(scent) to it ?
While cutting it(raw), Did you notice an aroma ??
No, not really.
Abigale Richard yes thay do have a mushroom.smell
Do you do anything with the bugs? I always find so many worms embedded in the meat
Just cut around it, I made some yesterday that had a chunk of lots of bugs. If there's bugs in the whole thing you gotta get there sooner lol
I guess it would be too expensive to use this as a meat alternative
You can buy them dried online for a reasonable amount.
not if you forage them yourself! lol
Hi, how long to bake it? Yesterday i stirfryed and it took more than half hour to cooked this.
Just follow the recipe like I show in the video and cook it until it looks right like the picture and the video. Everyone likes theirs cooked to a different crispiness.
If you freeze it do you freeze the cut pieces or the whole thing whole? I never froze it before
Cut it into pieces before you freeze it
@@TwinCitiesAdventures do I have to thaw them and then fry?
11 dislikes for what?
Do you guys have a P.O. Box?
We don’t
Ok. If you open one, let me know and I will send you Vermont maple syrup.
You can email me at twincitiesadventures@gmail.com and I can send you that info.
Looks like chicken too…
