- In this video I'll present my first solo playthrough of the board game 'Age of Civilization' - this time, I'll play the base game.
Age of Civilization is a pocket-sized civilization game. Throughout one game, each player leads up to three historical civilizations to form a unique combination of abilities. Players build Wonders, research technology, develop culture, conquer for glory, or even exploit their people. Only the player who wisely manages his workers and wealth can achieve the greatest civilization.

This is one of my favorites! Very underappreciated. I'm curious about the upcoming Age of Galaxy, but of course missed the kickstarter. Hopefully it makes its way to retail as well.
It's definitely an underrated game - I'm hoping for AoG hitting retail as well. 👀
I do enjoy AoC; it has a lot of variety in such a small game.
One note: Your starting civilization (Polynesia) gives you a permanent "Fish" worker space. I think, on your first turn, instead of sacrificing a worker ("Exploit") for two coins you could have placed one worker on your Civ card, triggering the "Fish" action (gain one coin) from the card row, AND triggering your Civ bonus (gain one MORE coin when fishing).
Of course, if you were already planning on rising a new Civ on turn 2 anyway, the sacrifice of the worker doesn't hurt you...
Hm, yes - that would have been a really good option! 🤔
Wow, that is a LOT of game in a little box!
I know, right? It's quite impressive. 😁
This looks like a game I’d enjoy. I like a small box with a lot of game inside. It looks very variable, perhaps a good game for a weeknight after work. I don’t like the scoring track though, the numbering seems counter-intuitive.
Yeah, I'm not a huge fan of the numbering either.
It is a pretty good game - it does a lot of nice things with that small box. It's not one of my most favorite solo games but it is pretty good. 😁
you forgot the plague ...
Take a look at 21:43: I'm resolving it there. 👀
oh it resolves when its at the left i see thanks
😁✌️
