    I know this sounds weird, but I get some strange nostalgic vibes myself, and I've never been to Japan! Quiet, narrow streets, old shopping arcade, tram line with super cute terminal... This would be the Tokyo I'd love to live in, not the hustle and bustle of city core. This was a great walk (albeit, a cursed one for you). I'd love to see more of these places.

      Thank you so much for watching and I'm so glad you felt the same way as I did! It was such a curse for me to make this video but I feel it's worth it now because you felt the same way! 😄

    I explored this area one summer afternoon a few years ago, and know exactly what you mean. In the Joyful Minowa shopping arcade, I really got a feeling I had gone back in time 40 or 50 years!

    21:15 Surprised to see open public toilet in this area. Well taken care as well. Nice neighbourhood and great walk.

      When I was a little kid, this type of public toilets were in almost all the kids playgrounds just like this Zuiko Park. This is one of the reason I felt so nostalgic too. Thank you very much for watching! 😄

    It is still an excellent video despite what you went through to make it! It is worth it. I would love to go there, it seems to be close to Asakusa so I might do it next time I am in town :)

    • @VSV_Japan
      @VSV_Japan  4 роки тому +1

      Yes it's close to Asakusa. If you take a train from Ueno, it will be only 2 stops. Thank you so much for watching! 😄

    And this is why I want to go back so badly. The contrast in areas gives you so much to do and so many places to explore. Busy city life or a step back in time. Thank you so much for all your hard work that we get to enjoy!

    i think 70/80' everywhere in the world was best period .. cause no phone , no computer just simple life and more close each others , we lost to be more Humain and we lost today ... Sucks !

      Thank you very much for watching! 😄 It's really interesting that everything starts shining when we look back at the past. Why didn't I notice it back then? Today may look like it sucks, but in 50 years from now, things we think suck today may start shining too.

    5:03 my favorite part. The narrow shopping streets with different stores and vending machine.
    No parking lots.

    Hi! I thought I saw a phone booth somewhere in this video. If that's the case, wow, I have not seen one in aloooong time lol when I was little here in the states there used to be plenty in almost every corner around town/city. Now you won't find one anywhere, where I'm from. We used to even have the old phones in the house called a rotary( i think) and typewriters i played with. This really does bring old memories. A piece of history and I just think its amazing to witness such transformation both environmental and technological. Thanks again for the tour and memories while watching this video lol

    • @VSV_Japan
      @VSV_Japan  4 роки тому

      Probably you saw one at 23:53. Japan decided to keep a few just in case of natural disasters because when a big earthquake occurs cell phones may stop working. In this video, this phone booth adds an extra nostalgia to Minowa. Thank you very much for watching! 😄

      I agree its better to have old phones for the public in case of things like that. I don't know why its not used in public here anymore. Anyways there are many features in this video that is very nostalgic in Minowa l can see that. I like the big murals or painting I saw there. It kinda looks like a symbol or a story. Very interesting place :)

    Minowa was our station for Kyukyu hotel. We visited a little bit the area but the other side. I was glad to discover this part of Minowa. I was so grateful to Aeon to have their affordable grocery store.

    • @VSV_Japan
      @VSV_Japan  4 роки тому +2

      Oh you stayed in Minowa! Aeon is a good supermarket but things on Joyful Minowa shopping street may have even lower price. The only problem is that you don't have a lot of choices... 😄

    23:53 Wow. A real life phone booth in the wild. I wonder if the kids around the area know what it's for?

    • @VSV_Japan
      @VSV_Japan  4 роки тому

      I’ve seen on TV that kids were being interviewed about phone booth. They recognized it’s a phone but didn’t know how to use it. They inserted a coin without picking up the handset. Also they though they should press the number first and then lift the handset. 😁

    There is Tokyo's splendor and other charm. I think the color of the video is also. The tram at Minowabashi Station is amazing. 👍
