    Ahh, june 18.
A day to remember, i was on knife lake, luckley we had a weather radio and herd there were some storms comming.
We were able to secure camp and ride out the storm. We were probably in the best site as there was a big rock cliff directly begimd canp that protected us from the driving rain.

Ahh.. Another June 18th survivor.. Yep, those weather radios are a must! sounds like you used the natural surroundings for protection.. well done! Any trees come down in your camp?

My Boy Scout troop and I were stuck between Tincan Mike Lake and Horse Lake during the storm on the 18th. We are from Louisiana and have seen our fair share of rain. We were heading to Iron Lake via Bear Trap creek but the creek was flooded and the rapids were class death. Aborted route and had to portage 230 rod 4 times back the way we came to hook up with original route at Basswood Falls. Head winds the last 3 days of our 9 day trip back to Basecamp. What a trip of a life time. Thanks for the video.

Wow stuck on the 88 rod portage between the lakes with a Boy Scout Troop from Louisiana during the storm, That must have been exciting for the Boys! You were prudent to alter your plans based on the conditions... As frustrating as the changes can be it's part of the adventure ,, Sounds like the Boys handled it well.. apart form the 230 Rod portage(s).. Yep.. trip of a lifetime indeed... Thanks for watching and commenting.. Best RW

Was at ep16 during this storm it pretty much rained from 7 am to the next day for us. I put my tent up under a giant rock and was protected from wind and possible blow downs. Never seen anything like the rain we had

Agreed, It was a rain deluge indeed that was hard to capture on the GoPro.. Smart move on using a giant rock as a defense on your part, Sounds like you came out of it unscathed....

Crazy blowdown! Can imagine the heartbreak if someone actually was on that tent pad.

Agreed it was quite the event.. unfortunately there have been cases where the tent(s) have been occupied.. Better to get outside away from the trees and wait it out! Thanks for the comment!

@@randalwilliam that’s the best advice that I took away from the video. I’ve been going up to the BWCA for years and have weathered many a storm and didn’t even think about that tactic for ensuring safety. Thank you for sharing.
